Change the way shells move

Recommended Posts

I didn't know how to name this topic, anyway, here's the idea:

Everyone knows when we shoot with railgun, smoky, thunder, hammer and vulcan, the shells go directly at the opponent we're hitting. I've seen something good in tanki X, which has another system, the shells take a bit time before they hit the opponent, but in this game, the shells just go there and you can only see where you hit, not the shell.
It's kinda ridiculous, and I think you must change it. Not some amazing graphics, but just to show that there's a shell.
I know this is gonna change the gameplay a lot, but I think at least it must be a test to see if players like it,

PROS
---> more realistic
---> (that moment when someone is hiding behind a wall and he starts driving, you could shoot before he does that and when he drives, the shell would hit him :D :D )

CONS
---> might take some time for players to get taught to it
---> probably the biggest change since the creation of the game, but I think it must be taken on consideration.

Feel free to show any other suggestions about this.

In Tanki X the shells still hit the enemy instantly, while the effect actually happens after the shot. If you shoot over very large distances, you'll notice that the explosion starts to appear before the animation of the flying shell has ended, which is mostly fine because there's no large distances in TX yet, but it still looks a bit wrong.

Adding any kind of delay in Tanki Online would infuriate a lot of players, since it would feel as frustrating as lag. Sure, it would make the game more realistic, but Tanki was always more about gameplay than realism, so I personally don't think this visual effect is worth the effort.

Rail should stay the same but Smoky, Thunder, Hammer, Vulcan and Shaft need this change.

If there was a laser turret then it would be instant hit.

If that were to happen, then we would have to buff them to compensate for the projectiles

I would prefer just to make the game a little more intresting is to make shell types like world of tanks. Different shell types will change how they work, for example: a high explosive shell can cause area damage. I hope you will put this suggestion into a future update thx.

Just Smoky and Thunder, the others are OP already. IMO. ;)

With changes like these we would be able to see where the projectiles are coming from exactly, so we can get to cover easily or counter the attack faster.

If you don't like facing them in battles, there are loads of modules you can buy in the garage ;)

And to find the Vulcan and shaft: follow the trail of bullets of Vulcan and the laser of shaft.

As for the other three, watch where the shots land on you, and the impact.

And besides, what would be the point of smoky and thunder if this were to be added?

This was done for Thunder and Vulcan, and, as far as I know, is also planned for Smoky. Probably won't be done with Railgun since the idea is that the shot travels so fast that it's basically instant. Real railgun shots travel at something like Mach 10 - way faster than most conventional tank shells.
