I am buying a new "Laptop"

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hello tankers!

I don't know the suitable topic name for this discussion.

I have planned to buy a new Laptop that is good and efficient enough for TO & TX. But i seriously don't know the requirement or the best configuration the computer needs. I am pretty sure that there are lots of people facing lags. the common reason or reply is "poor ram or graphics card and inefficient system.

This topic can clear all the questions on clearing lag by buying a new Laptop. I am choosing to buy an laptop as it is easy to carry.

Next comes Money or Budget... It is 50k Indian Rupees (756.527 USD).

What laptop or what must be there in that to have smooth tanki gameplay?

feel free to share you views!

I am thinking of purchasing the laptop from AMAZON app. (I dont know if it is good or i must buy it from that place or a store)

Any ideas or suggestions please??

You'll want to get something particularly with a dedicated GPU, there aren't too many options for this as your budget allows.

Here's a laptop that would be best with your budget in mind: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-E5-575G-i5-7200U-GTX-950M-Notebook-Review.178326.0.html

That has an Nvidia 950M graphics chip, which should give you 60 FPS with full graphics using the Tanki Online Client.

Try to avoid laptops with integrated graphics as these will not provide good performance for games.

With Tanki X, you should expect at least a stable 40 FPS, with medium settings.

If you aren't able to find that specific laptop in your region, do try to find one with those specifications, as they will be most optimal for your needs.

Best of luck.

or any better laptop suggestion??

None of these laptops will do anything much in terms of gaming except at low settings, In your budget a 950m which  xXx_J3L4CK_xXx suggested is out of price so you will have to go with a 940mx.

This is a decently specced laptop for India: http://www.amazon.in/Asus-R558UQ-DM513D-Screen-Laptop-Graphics/dp/B01MRKP1XP

Sadly it does NOT come with an OS pre-installed so you will need to install Linux or another OS.

If you need Windows 10 there is another laptop for 52K Rupees which has slightly better specs and Win 10 included: http://www.amazon.in/Asus-R558UQ-DM513D-Screen-Laptop-Graphics/dp/B01MRKP1XP

With a 940MX you can expect 60fps with Dynamic Ligting and Shadows On in Tanki and 50-60fps low settings in TX.

For your budget, this is honestly the best you can do laptop-wise: http://www.amazon.in/Acer-F5-573G-59V4-Dedicated-graphics-Windows/dp/B01MAVQIE9/

4 GB of RAM is enough, although you'll need to most likely close out everything else when wanting to play Tanki Online or Tanki X.

If you do want to upgrade the RAM in the future, upgrading to 8 GB or 12 GB would be best.

Its not tankionline topic, its off-topic and this topic will be closed.

This should be in off-topic discussion; it doesn't have anything to do with the gameplay itself, i.e. turrets, supplies.

Moderators are known what to do and what not!

They would probably move the topic to where it belong!

This topic on buying a laptop for tanki online is not off topic...

They probably haven't become aware of this thread  :)

However, this does belong in off-topic discussion - whether it is relevant to your gameplay or not, it does not pertain to the elements of the game - the maps, the turrets, and the hulls. You are not discussing the game, you are discussing computers.

Okay, quick answer:
CPU 2.1 Ghz or above, 64-bit, Windows (7) 8 or better (for drivers)

RAM at least 4 GB...I don't think Tanki demands more

Video card memory at least 2 GB... DO NOT EVEN THINK OF 1 GB

always up-to-date drivers, especially video card driver

With the specifications mentioned above you should be able to play the game constant  60 FPS + recording with Bandicam medium-high quality (1080p, 40-50 FPS) Such a laptop cost me ~470 USD.

No I have 2.80 Ghz, i5 6th gen, TO at max graphics gives me 40-50 FPS. I don't think that's good enough.

Those are ok, but don't expect too much performance.

You likely won't get an Anti-Ghosting laptop keyboard for anything less than $1.8k.

I have a 940M which is slightly slower, and I get 60 FPS on full settings.

I will talk about my pc:

Rom: 520GB

video card: 2GB(name: idk)

*about my internet speed:

upload speed: 50mb/s

My computer is very good for me. It doesnt have lag very much (3-5 times per hour)

Heeey, don't kill me for my unbelievable results. I did lots of research for optimization.

Anyways, I do recommend to buy a decent CPU like i7 @2.8 Ghz or better. But keep in mind, this game needs the video card a bit more. Anti aliasing and excessive shadow effects go for it, transferring data for the CPU.

Now, to the optimization. You can double the effective performance of your CPU, BUT you need a really reliable cooling system and power supply. I know my laptop and it's limits, so I did the impossible, 50 fps HD video recording.
