Mods, please move this topic to off-topic discussion.

Moved from Game Discussion.

Why so late, Coop? Thanks.

I requested a mod and an admin did that. Where are the mods?

did that really belong here?

or is it because of majority voting?

This topic is not related to Tanki Online. That's why it is moved to Off-topic Discussion.

Hello tankers!

I don't know the suitable topic name for this discussion.

I have planned to buy a new Laptop that is good and efficient enough for TO & TX. But i seriously don't know the requirement or the best configuration the computer needs. I am pretty sure that there are lots of people facing lags. the common reason or reply is "poor ram or graphics card and inefficient system.

This topic can clear all the questions on clearing lag by buying a new Laptop. I am choosing to buy an laptop as it is easy to carry.

Next comes Money or Budget... It is 50k Indian Rupees (756.527 USD).

What laptop or what must be there in that to have smooth tanki gameplay?

feel free to share you views!

I am thinking of purchasing the laptop from AMAZON app. (I dont know if it is good or i must buy it from that place or a store)

Any ideas or suggestions please??

How much would it take for you to save so you would have double the amount?

I think you should get an MSI.

No, it belongs here. The discussion of you getting a computer has nothing to do with gameplay for the majority. The "Gameplay" subforum is for discussing turrets, hulls, and the like, not computers.

My comparison:

Pros for E5 video card
- Better video memory handling (can deal with bigger workload)

Pros for F15 video card
- Better core speed (works "faster")

Pros for F15
- Regarding video card, my vote goes here. Tanki needs less video memory handling than for example Call of Dusty, but the quicker it works the better experience you have.
- On the E5's page it says Linux. You'll have to buy Windows (if you want) and you'll have trouble installing.

- The Acer Aspire F15 supports windows 10 widely (video card), but the other one doesn't. If you want to use windows 10...

Pros for E5
- Double the RAM. If you want to use your laptop for other games or stuff, you'll need that +4 GB memory. This computer is a bull, F15 is a horse.

- Check the CPUs. They say the E5 has a different and slightly better one. Idk.

Summary: F15 has a slightly better video card and is ready to use. The E5 is stronger in RAM but needs some extra work.

Please double check if the specifications I listed are the same by the one you are looking at. Personal opinion: I'd keep searching for another, but if I really had to choose, I would buy E5 because of the RAM.

For example look at this, it has the horse video card and the bull RAM and a decent CPU. This would be my choice. (Yes I am ASUS fan because it has the power supply and cooling I mentioned before) (P.S.: It's RAM is a very little bit slower than the bull's)

Heeey, don't kill me for my unbelievable results. I did lots of research for optimization.

Anyways, I do recommend to buy a decent CPU like i7 @2.8 Ghz or better. But keep in mind, this game needs the video card a bit more. Anti aliasing and excessive shadow effects go for it, transferring data for the CPU.

Now, to the optimization. You can double the effective performance of your CPU, BUT you need a really reliable cooling system and power supply. I know my laptop and it's limits, so I did the impossible, 50 fps HD video recording.

Unity is suprisingly light on the processor, an i5 M-CPU would cut it aswell aslong as you don't have much programs running at once. Maybe even an i3 in laptops might do the trick but you never see them in combination with a decent dedicated GPU.

Tanki Online isn't really that demanding in processing power either but I just hate Flash player for the amount of RAM it uses compared to the graphics. Flash Tanki also gives you way more fatal errors and battle-invite errors if you run it on full graphics 60P. It's a stupid old platform. I sometimes get them every 3 minutes, especially on the bigger maps and crowded areas. No sign of frame drops though; I use an i5 in my desktop.

Yeah, desktops are more reliable, better airflow and better bang for buck.

Those gaming laptops are getting better by the year with actual desktop GPU's in them, but it's like having a freaking spaceship on your lap.

Wow i love MSI... only if it was on 50% off.... its srsly very costly... from 1 lakh to 3 lakhs

So... what is the amount for the laptop that you were talking about?

Get an HP one, that is one of the cheapest and one of the best. That's what my sister bought when she went abroad for studies

HP got ghosted keybaord... all its laptops are ghosted...not a gaming supportive laptop

So you saying to buy a PC?

How much would that cost... more than laptops right?

seen many comments that say PC is better... is it really that better than a laptop?

If so how costly can that be?

wow... great to see a 8 GB RAM in it... but thats a bit too expensive...

The major problem is the keyboard it may have... wouldn't it be ghosted?

GUYS.... HOW DO I TEST A KEYBOARD IS GHOSTED OR NOT?

Price must not bother you. PCs are slightly cheaper I think, AND there is more space for hardware.

All you have to decide is that do you want to move your computer? You can just put your laptop into a bag and travel to 100km away.

I suggested to take future into consideration

Looking back at your reply; to what extent?

Because this all comes down to how much the guy wants to spend.

This is very subjective...I think a computer, especially a laptop servers up to 5 years. To this extent, I would buy one that is slightly better than what I need now. +4 GB memory, 20-30% better clock and core speeds. This way the reason to buy another computer will be that the initial one got too old, and not that "It can't run this and this".

You can never compare PCs to Laptops. I mean if you want to get a decent Laptop than it is probably around 800+ Euro, but you can get a decent PC wit that same price and even much better. So if you pay the 800 Euro you saying than I can guarantee you that you will be able to get a PC which is too good and if you want to a get a Laptop version of that same exact PC you got for 800 Euro than it is +2K Euro.

My point is there are tons of cheap PCs that are decent and I really mean it, but if you want to get a ''decent'' Laptop than prepare to pay more than that. PCs are always cheaper and better than Laptops depending on the PC itself of course.

In that case I'd get a desktop with an ATX sized motherboard; much more upgradability.

I have an older GTX 770 in my desktop, and I could easily swap it for something better but the games I love to play don't require an upgrade. I'm fine with High/Ultra on 1080P. Ohh yes the resolution... that's quite important aswell in choosing a CPU.

But for $756, you can get a really fancy desktop either way.
