I read somewhere that making kills not count in Parkour is not doable.

So, what should be done about killers entering Parkour mode?

How about an option to block one team?

Nothing. Create a private battle that no outsiders can enter and invite trustworthy friends to parkour with them.

Permanently modifiying Madness so there is no ground floor? Really? Why not just create a Madness2 then at least we have the option of choosing which one we prefer. Madness was by far the best map and now it is complete ****e, that coupled with missions not working for the last 3 weeks and the changes to shaft which changed the gameplay for the worse mean this game now officially sucks bigtime. I play this game far too much anyway, time for a break I think...

Totally agree!

I think in Parkour mode tanks shouldn't die, they just respawn.

That way even self destructs will not count against the infamous K/D rating.

Devs just need to create another form of "dying" that is not dying. So there will be no need to create a system that has to detect if you died in Parkour or in regular battles.

Developers no longer keep two versions of the same map (like Silence and Silence II). This was the most logical change to make the map playable, so they did it. And think about it - Madness used to be a completely broken map. Players just spawned and went down on the lower platform. One team just dominated the whole lower area and captured flag after flag, while the other just camped on top, occasionally shooting down and waiting for gold boxes. And now the map will finally have even conditions for both teams.

Don't like the permanent removal of the original Madness? No, me neither - message here to bring it back or at the least have the two Madness maps together. It's high time we had more than one Madness style map and to replace the original with some cheap ass variant is.. well, MADNESS!!!

I disagree, sure there were some one-sided battles though they were enjoyable, the new design has too many narrow platforms causing too many self destructs and making quick flag getaways near impossible.

If improvement to the old design was needed then you could:

  • Reduce the height difference between the lower and higher lever, thus making jumps more predictable for beginners.
  • Remove the holes in the lower level to make jumping of anywhere more predictable.
  • Expand the lower level to enable jumping off the top edge of the map OR reducing the top level surface area for the same effect.

I'm sure there are other options too.

I like the new madness, it will cut ruggers and buyer down a notch or two.

And Dante, I thought deaths were'nt counted in Parkor battles. So you could yunk around as much as you wanted, with no detriment to your real-game KDR. I do wish that drugs were unlimited in PB. As it is mines and heal boxes are too precious so just waste in non=exp battles.

Madness with no lower floor is ridiculous. Madness was about raining tanks, shootings everywhere, try to land safely on the platform, no safe place to hide and gold in thousand possible spots, This WAS PURE MADNESS!!!!

Without those the new map cannot claim this name: MADNESS

This is at the best "Mad" wihout "ness" or or at the worst an utter "Joke".

"We can no longer have 2 maps with different set up" = BS / propaganda / ∆. 74 maps already, what is one more?! Please bring back the real Madness (with no space theme) and rename the other one "Cosmonauts" or "Bad Joke" or "Gargarin" whatever name you fancy with the space theme.

the new Madness is completely different in feel and gameplay from the old. The old Madness was unique in the Tanki world and certainly from a tactical point of view (in my opinion as a single player here just for fun) had a bit of everything, two levels, places to hide, places to snipe, locations to defend - one of its greatest features was that is was on two levels and needed a team to watch both lower and upper levels. All of that has now gone - all on a single level, everywhere can be seen from everywhere else - the only unique feature of the new map is the backdrop, it is now no different from any other map.

WHY?? When you could have simply created a second madness map so that folk had a choice - it makes no sense at all - on top of that you claim that the reason for removing the lower level was to stop having to wait for long drops and you go and give the option to remove gravity - now everything takes an age!!!!

I don't want to sound ungrateful. The holiday paint was the best I've seen. But what you've done to the Madness map is nothing short of vandalism. Playing in zero gravity is fun - for about 10 minutes. I've seen enough of it now.  Not many tank battles in reality were conducted in zero gravity (I checked). The novelty has worn off.

Please have our old map back? It was so much fun to play.

yea!

They have been changed it 4 times.

*space madness->original madness->madness-> madness 2017.

I tell what was different in those maps.

*space madness had low gravity and the props was like white rocks.

Original madness was almost same like madness. It had more props down.

Madness is same, but it lost his props what was down.

New madness is just completely different. Lost his one side and theres new backdrop.

Apologies for posting this in the wrong place before, this forum has to be one of the most confusing I've ever used - but then I'm easily confused! I'm sure I've committed another forum crime by repeating this but I think I have valid points.

Further to a previous poster (somewhere else) who was quite upset about the changes to Madness and went and got his own topic locked because he presumebly was abusive I'll try to say what he didn't manage to.

You (the moderators, chiefs, rulers of Tanki) have said several times that the lower level of Madness was redundant or the upper level was redundant depending on your point of view - this isn't true, in the same way you can hide behind buildings and other obstructions in other maps the top level can be used as a vantage point from which to snipe tanks on the lower level, it also provides a place which can be used to defend a captured flag for instance. If you think that having the two CTF bases on the lower floor makes the upper redundant then simply move one of them to the upper level - straight away both levels are instantly both as important strategically!

the importance of the two levels is dependent on the tank you choose of course - its one of the few long range maps  and plays to Shafts strengths you wouldn't necessarily use freeze there but that's the players choice.

Finally why change it forever? Why not just create a Madness 2 and keep everyone happy!

What are your thoughts? I've always found Madness to be unique and quite popular it's common to find several 16v16 CTF rooms full so, again, why change it when you could just add the new map along side?

Yeah, looks like we now have the vandalised map without the bouncy castle.  I just don't see the point.

As you said earlier, you could always snipe tanks on the lower level. I used to enjoy turning a CTF game around doing that - you join at, say 0-4, camp on the staircase, then take them all out. It didn't take long for the good guys to arrive and make it 5-4. You could keep the others out of the game by sniping them before they hit the ground.

Oh well, another happy memory shot.
