Add "outside view" window for Shaft in scope mode

Recommended Posts

Keep it simple for now to see if it is actually doable.

Like I said. Just have the outside screen. If you have it like that, you can see your surroundings and you still can't see who sneaks behind you hardly.

Oh, a split-screen. Sure, I don't see why not. Maybe it can be maxed Q?

Lol thats what I said XD. This doesn't make it any more OP. Because the shaft is terrible at close combat, so wether u stand and fight, or try to run, u'll die anyways. Its just to show you ahead of time when to run so u don't die.

Oooooo. Or have it above as a "rear view mirror".

Nah, thats a good Idea but you need to know if the gold is being dropped. I think the bottm side view is more simple. Also its a tank, not a car XD lol

Shaft is already as nooby and annoying as it is. It requires no accuracy at all, all you do is hold the space bar and use the arrows. Giving it a boost just makes tankers more frustrated.

The red dot doesn't even have to be on the target to hit it, right? So you are saying it's like Thunder/Striker/Magnum where slop counts.

So how is Shaft buffed by this? OK, show me. You are Shaft and you are in Scope Mode. You are looking for a target and have a few to chose from in front of you but you have your beam hidden, and then you see someone approaching fast on your position from your six. So tell me, what do you do?

Shoot and start driving forwards. Arcade the approaching tank.

Thats what the suggest vision is for. So you can escape. I mean, cmon, unless the shaft is an m4, what chance can it have of taking on an appraching player if not on low life?

Shaft is actually very powerful in "scope" mode as it is. The only negative (currently) is the fact that you have a large "blind spot" when scope mode is activated.

This will not (or should not) be added, simply because it makes Shaft too good. Learning where and when to use scope mode takes skill and a decent amount of playing time with the turret. This addition would make it too easy to use.

Yeah. Sound like a pretty good idea. The scope mode of Shaft can be improved by having an outside window that allows that Shaft players to see whether or not enemy tanks are nearby.

When there is an enemy nearby, the player will run away and save himself more effectively.

my point exactly. even if you see tankers coming at you, it's your choice to either stand your ground or run away.

and most choose to run away, because they gotta shoot multiple times to kill their attacked, especially a freezer

I have an Idea for the Shaft,

We all know how dominating, annoying, useful, and nooby the shaft can be. Why not have a medium size screen been installed for the Shaft, showing the outside of whats going on around the tank while in scope mode? If any enemies approach, you'll know they are there and can save yourself before they arrive.

This will make the shaft overpowered and very hard to defeat.. Since shaft can make 1 shot kills..

the shaft will be OP if you upgrade it. also let's talk about what you just said about it being able to make a one shot kill. most players know how to use shaft as well as when to keep on the lookout, so if the player sees you anyway, the damage won't be reduced in any way if it hits you. besides, shafts usually hide in closed up areas to prevent players from coming behind.

The game is already good as it is, also that is the whole point of shaft, to sneak up on it.

true, but it wouldn't be any worse if they add that new feature, actually it'd be better but also challenging because you would need to scope out for targets, while watching the small screen to make sure no one is gaining on ya

lol ofc. even though you might see other players coming, you have no choice but to run, some are bold or they have their shaft upgraded enough to stand and fight. I mean with or without this new feature, we still get killed when the shafts drug

Originally, Shaft didn't have a laser beam, but players wanted some way to know when they were being targeted. Answer....a laser beam. It serves absolutely no purpose for the user. It was fine without the laser.

At least with Striker, it lets you know when you have a full load to send all four rockets. Stricker has no scope, so you can still see what's going on in the environment the same as any other turret. When Shaft is in sniper mode, you are blind to the environment around you. All you see is what's in the scope....Period and that area is small. Everything around the circle with the crosshair is blacked out.

I'm all for something to counterbalance the useless laser beam. In the scope you aim with crosshairs. You don't know you are being attacked unless you keep one eye on your health bar. The turret turns very slowly when in sniper mode, that's why it's at such a disadvantage at close range. In order to attack at close range, you have to come out of sniper mode and into arcade mode, which has much weaker damage Shaft is the only turret that becomes completely immobile. Striker, you can move around with no limitations. Magnum, you can't move the turret, but you can move the tank.

So if Shaft can be equipped with something to give you awareness, I'm all for it, whether it's a radar system or a small map. Of the two, I think the radar affect is better. It's less invasive. The dots won't tell you exactly where the enemy is, but lets you know that there is and the positioning, just like any other turret without a scope. The size of the dot can tell you how close the tank is to you.
