Turret/Hull mastery training mode

Recommended Posts

Trying out a new turret you finally managed to purchase? Maybe it's an easy turret to use, like Twins. Maybe a bit more difficult like Hammer? Maybe you're a dare devil and you're trying your luck with Magnum? Fact is, if it's your first time using a turret, you're obviously not going to be very good with it. So, during all that time you spent saving up, you're finally testing it out in battle with 0 experience on said turret.

Now, of course you're going to have some negative thoughts, like why isn't it working out, or why are you still dying so much, when others using this turret are top of the leaderboard? It's very frustrating. When I bought Voltage, I had no experience with Dictator and little to no experience with Railgun and Voltage...happens to be one of the worst kits you can get. Now, even though I sucked with it, it's a product kit. I was still rather OP, one shotting players who still have M0 hulls and such.

Now, I don't even use that combination anymore. That's 131,180 crystals wasted! Well, at least I can still play xp/bp :/

But, my idea, is a mode against AI tanks.

You know how you have the battle mode selectors at the bottom of the screen? Well, there's be another one next to them and when clicked, it brings up a list of all the hulls and turrets you own and a number out of another number. 0/20, let's say for now, to represent how many of the mastery tasks you've completed for each item.

Each task will get harder as you go, starting off by explaining the basics of your chosen turret or hull. The last task, will bring you to an actual battle to show your stuff. The eighteen in between will teach you how to use with, what modules you should use, the best hull for the turret, best role in battle, etc.

Also, for each task, there will be three objectives you will have to complete. Maybe kill a number of tanks in a given time, or survive for a certain amount of time. Also, there will be a small crystal reward for each task which will earn you a little more for each task. Maybe 100 crystals the first and 5,000 on the last task. Also, for the objectives you can get small rewards like supplies but these rewards will be very minimal and will also increase a little as you complete more tasks.

Now, the reason I say the rewards should be minimal is because we have quite a few turrets in the game. Fourteen I believe and seven hulls. That's 21 items and even with such small rewards, you'll earn a lot, plus Tanki devs say the game is perfectly balanced as it is but you HAVE to have money if you expect to get an M1 product kit.

This will pretty much turn any tanker into a professional and earn them a little bit of crystals while doing it. I honestly cannot stress it enough that even at my rank, people are falling over upside down, multing, failing to turn their turrets...it's just saddening, to be honest. So, I'm just trying to promote a possible way to increase the amount of skilled players in battle.

Valid

There's very little chance of any AI enemies being added to the game, let alone a feature this big. This would require months of development for something that's not even all that interesting, imho.

I have a similar idea (ish):

I think it would be a good idea to have a special mode against Als. It would be DM only, it wouldn't give you any experience or crystals, it wouldn't consume any of your supplies, none of the stats you get would go towards your profile, it would have one difficulty setting (intermidiate), and it would be available offline. Something like this would be useful for practicing with a new turret (you don't have players laughing at your terrible score and you would not have to waste any supplies).

How about a shooting gallery mode? No Exp gained or lost, just to try out new turrets or get used to a favorite one. It beats getting blown up for "practice".

We already have ideas about that posted here.

Recently I was trying to train all by my lonesome for XP/BP. Molotov CTF. Nobody plays it, so I just spent 10 minutes collecting boxes and practicing peek-a-boo tactics. I suggest we have a practice mode, with targets that move (And shoot back, preferably). I dont know how easy it would be to program AI for the tanks, or if the servers could take the pressure, but we could at least have something like the tutorial.

Tanki can’t do this since if they can’t even make a simple antihack, they couldn’t make this even if their lives depended on it

They did make a simple antihack. Doesnt work great, but at least it exists.

^well, that was completely useless because parkour is hard, and after cosmonautics day, golds were easy to take with the hack that goes through tanks and speed hacks. tanki go hire supercell coders

There is 13 turrets in the game, not "14". Mines don't count as turrets. They are just devices used to damage enemies( basically your secondary weapon)

One could argue what turret you use affects how you use mines. But like you said, they're supplies.

Yeah, the test server has been in open test mode for ages now.

No sheet (of paper) sherlock, but it isn't available at any time as you said, is it? Or do you know something that i don't? ?

When is it unavailable?

I can't tell if you're joking or not. Sometimes you require an invite code to join the test server. Maybe the test server is always available to devs, but not to players. Am I right?
