We all know that there is a live chat for each EN. However what about the forum?

 

In order to have a live conversation with another tanker outside the actual game, you need to send a PM, and reload the page every time you think that the person has replied.

 

Or what if you want to have a live chat with multiple people? You can only have a conversation with 4 maximum.

 

So, I think that the best way to solve this is that for each heading (Developer's information, General, Tankionline Newspaper, etc.) there should be a live chat box that is shown when you click one. Each chat box is connected to a helper's screen. So there should be approximately one helper for each chat room. (Of course this can be modified to meet tanki's needs)

 

This means that whenever you need live communication, for example, discuss whether or not to buy the new magnum, you can not only talk to an expert on tanki, but fellow tankers as well. However, to prevent off topic discussion, there is a different chat for each heading. Wanna discuss the newspaper live? Than head to the newspaper chat. Wanna discuss a new parkour trick that you just thought of? Head to the parkour chat.

 

However, there is the issue of helpers. Who should be a helper? How do you know how good a person is on tanki, how much info do they know? Well the answer is simple, everyone is a helper. Each person can start a chat in a section if they choose too. However, the more people that follow them, the higher up they are in the chat. For example, if only two people vote you as a person that should be a chat starter, you'll be in the bottom part of the chat section on parkour. However if a person who is a famous youtuber on parkour, with hunderds of people voting that this person a knowledgeable person on parkour, their chat would be at the top of the chat section. This way, people who are just trying to get attention won't.

I like the idea, but the lead community manager and/or developers decided to not add this feature. It's most likely to prevent requirement for additional chat moderation in this chat and to keep as just a forum, rather than some weird mix between a chat and forum.

Anyway I agree with you on that part and besides that, another new section must be made for the Forum Chat Violations unless it would be ok to report on the normal chat violation section which is closed now. There will always be violations, extra mods will be needed, more reports will come, and more work to do.

I don't think adding such a feature to the current version of IPB is possible o_O The upcoming version does have a feaure somewhat like this though.

I don't see any idea topics in your profile. Either way, there's no time limit for when an idea's status will be changed. It may stay as "under review" for years. There's hundreds of good ideas and only a handful of developers to work on them, so don't expect any progress in that regard - it will happen when it happens.

Yes , that will happen  chat violations is closed and we will need more chat moderators so this isn't possible to be added.
