That is EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make.
They may kill a lot, but they are NOT matchwinners.


And I return to the original comment, that the Magnum learning curve is steep. Wait until you've played a magnum player who has climbed that curve. Then you will see battle dominated. Though yes they will probably not be big flag-getters themselves.

 

But get the flag, not get the flag, these are different topics than "enjoying the game". I do well in almost every DM game I play but I almost never have fun, because I find that mode so damn stupid most of the time. There's nothing fun about getting killed only because a tank spwned directly behind you 5 seconds after you spawn. There's nothing fun about getting killed because you can't shoot the enemy and can't use cover to escape him either.

 

Win schmin, there will be no wins or losses unless the game is actually fun to play.

 

 

For starters, it's difficult to win any CTF or CP game if your team is made up mostly of campers. Good chance they were fulfilling a "Kill xx" tanks mission. Crowded maps... mission solved. Played against a team in Rio that was 50% shafts. Who's gonna capture? We slaughtered them.

 

Teams with balance win more often, all other things being equal.

 

As LittleWillie says, there's prob a lag in user ability for Magnum at moment. As time goes by they will get better - at hiding and placing shots.

 

In time, A team that has a couple (at most) Magnums with skill could easily dominate certain maps for CTF and CP. Alexandrovich, Tribute, Serpuhov and possibly even Polygon. That tunnel where Isidas hide is ripe for High-explosive shells that can drop right in there.


I played Kunger CP (which I consider a badly flawed map) last night. The enemy had 2 magnums and at least one shaft. They were all very good players. The shaft locked down the long low land along one flank of the map. The Magnums clearly knew how to set the angle and power to hit any area on the map. Any attempt to capture points resulted in the slaughter. I player my fast Wasp/Viking tried flanking them. The magnums dis not allow it. No matter how I maneuvered I was wiped out either en route, or at the firing position as soon as I arrived.

 

The whole game thus boiled down into a long-range sniping affair. It was painful dull.

 

I've messaged around with the magnum on a low-level account. I am starting to get a "feel" for the shots. Once I can shoot shots by timing not by watching the gauges I might convert the account Tanki ruined on me earlier this year. OTOH Tanki will have to jit this turret hard with the nerf hammer. Of course bing as Tanki's devs seem to play favorites I wonder if Tanki really will nerf their favorite artilery toy.

If a striker or magnum is able to come often to your spawn points, then you have a noob team.

 

Shafts can have 20 K/D in a game, and still end up on the losing side.

 

Magnum can do well in TDMs, but I haven't seen them do that well in CP/CTF games.

Yes, you need to kill it before you take the flag, but isn't that true for any defender? Freeze or fire or shaft or rail or thunder?

When you are spawn killing, you make many players leave the battle, that's one of the big reasons people do spawn killings.

I'm sick of this crap.  You greedy fools have ruined something that I really enjoyed...Tanki.  

 

You have turned this game into a frustrating unskilled frantic struggle to push 2 or 3 and time 1 properly.  What utter crap!  The list of things that are wrong with Tanki are too numerous to go into in depth or even to list but I will hit on a few:

 

1. Mission update needs to be removed.  It's made everything about drugs and there are no battles anymore.  Missions take up too much time.  There is no time to play in pro battles and the standard battles are just drug fests with players focusing on their daily mission instead of the games objective.   Besides uber-druggers, the standard battles are also packed with chatters, box collectors, mults, apathetic players, lame players, hackers, and other Tanki vermin.

 

2. Rank brackets are too weighted to the top end (they go way too far down the scale)  I am 19 and play against 30, new M2 vs M3/M4...this has nothing to do with Tanki's precious "balance".  It's like me (19) going against rank 8...M2 vs M0 or new M1...RIDICULOUS!

 

3. Critical Error, that happend to me once a week, has been replaced with "server error", "re-enter the game", some other "death error" message that happen 2-3 TIMES A DAY, and now the client sometimes locks my entire computer so I must re-boot.

 

4.          LA                          G    LA          GL               AG          L

It's getting so bad...I spend trillions of drugs to get to #1 against tanks 11 levels higher than me and the game crashes or the lag ruins my standing.  Anything that makes a person want to smash their computer is not a good thing.

 

5. I'm sick of playing on maps I don't really like.  But I must to do missions and then I don't feel like playing on good maps because I'm pissed off from my mission battles.

 

6. I'm tired of never knowing which turret will be the darling turret of the update silliness.  Tanki's schizophrenic "balance' started this whole downward spiral and has continued to foul up all MU plans and battle strategies.  Turret X nerfed...turret X buffed...turret X nemesis turret buffed...just leave the damn game ALONE!

 

7. General malaise at not knowing what is going to happen next to the game...will Hazel-Rah decide that there should be a random tank destruction every fifth kill in a game...boom, you dead, no reason.  Because he has PLAYED many games, will his expertise help him to create an "immortal" protection module (for only 350 Euros).  The mind boggles when even considering the silly ways Tanki might get screwed up next. 

7A.  I had to complain about all the administrators smarmy spins and tortured rationalizations...give us a break and tell it like is really is instead of "We are gouging out your eyes so now you will never be bothered by those pesky bright lights that you complained about or have to wear glasses!  Isn't that great news!  We have improved you and made you a happier person!".   Barf.

 

8. I'm unhappy about feeling frustrated and unhappy every time I finish playing a game I play to have FUN...just twisted.  

 

9. I'm tired of complaining about Tanki (even though the list could go on and on)

 

I would send Tanki real money (I was planning $200 around the paint separation) if I knew what the game was going to be in a week, month or a year, but not with the horrors that the administration saddles the players with.   It is not acceptable to buy a car that has leather seats standard and is delivered with cloth seats...because cloth is now our standard...refund, return, or lawsuit would be in order.  If I buy a turret that performs in a certain way, that's what I want...not what Tanki changes it into as they see fit.  I want what I pay for...pretty basic.

 

As I vent here (I know that this is just a cathartic waste of bandwidth since administration will never bother reading it...just another whine amonst a hundred thousand other complaints), I'm pretty much done with Tanki as it is now.  I will continue to look in on the Forum in case the administration comes to its senses, but I'm taking a Tanki break for a few months at least.  

 

What a shame...and shame on you administrators that have let fools ruin a good game...and I bet your revenue hasn't increased at the bottom line a bit...what a waste.

Of course they will. They will do exactly the same thing that they are doing with Striker, keep increasing the missile speed so that you can only maybe dodge it if they fire from the other side of the map and you have no other distractions. Soon Magnum will not even have to aim, because its splash area will be so big that wherever they shoot won't matter because all the enemy tanks will die.

I couldn't agree more on those points. The mission system needs to be completely reworked. Not just turned back to what it was, but majorly changed. People play to complete missions, not to have fun. Things as they are now, I think it'd be better to simply do away with missions and increase battle funds (and, while we're at it, make it so that it is worth staying in a losing team), so that people can actually play what they want to play instead of having to do their chores in order to have enough crystals and supplies to actually be able to compete in the game.

 

I don't know your computer's specifications, but I play on linux, and flash stopped updating it years ago, I've got to run with a fossil version from 2012. I really can't understand why they didn't migrate to html5 three years ago.

 

Last week I got to play a Sandbox CTF, and I realised that I had forgotten how much I enjoy that map. People end up playing in maps that they don't like, complete missions that they don't care about, face people 10 ranks above them, and so on and so forth. Eventually, people will get fed up and leave the game. It's a pity, Tanki is a fun game, and overall I enjoy it. It's just... If they had left things as they were after the battle button, that's fine, you just play pro-battles and you can do whatever you want. If you don't care that much about it or don't have time to play very often, then normal battles do the trick. But why "encourage" players to play normal battles that they don't enjoy with a broken mission system?

I personally think that daily missions are not enough as a daily reward. Tanki Online needs to have daily quests as well like in Tanki X. There is also the need for a mastery level in Tanki Online like there is in Tanki X. Players would love the ability to gain skills for using a particular turret.

Dear @Hatty1994, you most certainly have those rights. It's part of the reason why we have these discussion topics here. 

The fact that all the posts that criticize the game and/or its updates are still here to be read by everyone is proof of that.

The only things that we do not tolerate is posts that are in violation with the game rules. In such posts, either the violation will be edited out, or the entire message will be hidden, depending on the severity of the violation. I think there are plenty of possibilities for players to voice their criticism while respecting the game rules.

I haven't read people's opinions on Hammer after the update, but Hammer is rubbish now. It's rare to get full damage if the enemy isn't at point blank range.

So much agreement here... I left only a few in the quote to highlight those but I agree with almost every sentiment.

 

I can feel your frustration. I've tried to communicate the same feelings here before. Bottom line its come down to a dramatic loss of fun.

 

Before this mission fiasco, the earlier fiascoes were annoying but they did not undermine the basic fun. A turret or three would be out of balance but you could still find a fun game.

 

I speak of the time after the introduction of the Battle Button. There were many basic games at the right rank levels. I always bought a Pro Pass so I could do my missions quickly. then I would have time ot play a couple normal battles where all I had to think about working for the team win.

 

Now there is no way t justify the Pro Pass cost so I do my mission in normal battles. I keep the weekly chain going but that means I am forced into more lopsided games and more bad teams. The last three days doing missions has left me in a bad mood, not having fun.

 

The worst part is, there is no reason to even want to gain exp or even to upgrade one's tank. Game-play never changes except drugs beccome more and more common. Upgrading your tank is of course worth doing but even with that there's no real pressure. Tank recently made m0 more like m1 more like m2 more like m3 more like m3+. So those massive amounts of hard-won Cry don't buy much ,,, a 40k MU step might get you +1% DPS... wow!

 

The bottom line is the bottom line. I wish I could trust the Tanki management team enough to support them with some purchanses. But I do not trust them. Worse, in the last month tjey have made the game less fun.

I like the new update, the one that remembers you when there are errors. Was that the update, right?

 

At the beginning I couldnt move my turret, that's why I had to close the client, and when i reenter I appeared in the same battle as before.

1 Shot viking is not true you need to be m4 for gurrantied 1 shot so... and DD damage should not accounted railgun thunder hammer magnum are too op for their damage and if u say shafts damage overpowers all those nerfs I can tell you majority of shafters will choose all those nerfs be removed for damage nerf

Arcade - Less with range, nerf
Laser - nerf
Verticle aiming - nerf
Do you want to cripple this turret further?

It was so much fun to do those get experience in DM missions in Desert DM XP/BP on RU1.

All that is gone now....

Miss those days... :(

Now, not even single Desert DM XP/BP in ru1... :(

We should have other types of daily quests or something similar to complete each day for an additional bonus. It need to be easy but different from daily missions and quests.

@Ninja I believe "DEDICATED TOPIC" only read by you moderators, neither @Cedric Debono nor any administrators go through those topics.

You are very wrong, Cedric is one of the most active users in the topic and replies as much as he can. Developers or other admins are NOT obliged to read the topic and it is Cedric's job to pass on complaints to them.
