Ask a Battle Mod

Wey there tankmen!  ^_^

This scenario came to my mind and, even though I already expect what the answer will be, I would still like to ask a battle mod about it:

The "gold box will be dropped soon" siren went off and I discover that its drop box is located in a tunnel - therefore the gold box will spawn right there instead of dropping. Too bad there is already a teammate of mine on the spot. I really want that gold, so, because I am equipped with a Titan vs my teammate who has a Hornet, I go full forward against him. Obviously he fights back, but he cannot do much, and I manage to push him away and get on the drop box right in time to catch the gold.

The question is:

By the actions that I have taken, am I breaking point 2.1.5. - Sabotage of the Game Rules?

I have clearly created obstruction to the gameplay of my teammate as I was intentionally fighting against him, and preventing my teammate from reaching his goal by "stealing" the gold box from him. I probably also indirectly provoked my teammate to post in the battle chat insults against me, which put him at risk of being reported and banned.

But is the gold box considered a fair excuse?

I would also like to specifically question this scenario in a case where it is just me and my teammate in the location, against a case where there is also a crowd of players around pressuring us.

Thank chu for your consideration in reading my post!  :D

No, that isn't considered sabotage, catching gold boxes is based on skill and you can do anything to take them, apart from fly hacking of course.

Chat moderator should create a topic similar to this call " ask a chat mod" ... people have so many questions to ask( at least I have)

I want them to  change the rank so I can apply for the chat mod  -_-

This message is a bit useless for a battle mod

Maybe you should ask a question via the forum PM, the chat mods are sometimes online in the forum.

Might be an idea.

Chat moderators are working on the chat every day, they are available to players and their questions so if you want to, feel free to visit the chat and ask them. No point relocating them from their field of work to the forum to answer the questions they can answer on the chat anyway.

Moreover, you can ask any questions related to the game here

It's easier when you really make a topic of chat mod because you get to know other people opinion too (which might cause a thing to change of chat Mod or a new idea of improvement). The link you gave us... I hardly believe anyone visits there except this forum)

Well, to be honest, I am blocked from asking a "Chat Admin" on PM

what's the point of applying, to be honest? Mod barely accept anyone or let them know why they got rejected

(Even chat Mod doesn't do that... you know how long people wait for a reply to know if they get accepted or no? .. 2 weeks or more for a simple reply. (even though people met with the requirement.. they don't get accepted.. wasn't it better if the chat MOD let the players know immediately why he got rejected so he can improve and apply again later another time fall/spring/summer? )

Do you have any idea how many applications Battle Mods and Chat Mods receive every day? It's simply impossible to reply to everyone. And if I'm not mistaken, the application page says something about the fact that if you don't receive a reply within X days, you should consider your application as having been rejected.

Additionally, the admins don't need to tell applicants why they were rejected. The requirements are VERY clearly written, and yet 99% of applicants apply despite not having those requirements. I'm not saying you did this, but this is what happens in 99% of the cases. Rest assured that when someone is very near to being a match but has to be rejected for some specific reason, the admin WILL give that player an explanation.

  • Battle Administrator

Yele requested Battle_Mod_02 to be added in my friends. Whenever i invited him to battle he always came. Now someone else is battle_Mod_02 and this guy refuses to spectate hackers when i ask him to join. He NEVER accepted invitation and i dont belive he always was spotting hackers.

Battle_Mods  almost always watch the battles, so they can not accept the invitation. I strongly advise you to use the /vote

I believe what you said is true but tanki isn't same as it was before or I would have agreed with all you said.

Well one should consider that "before" Tanki very likely had less players than now, so things were probably more manageable for admins and mods.

I really appreciate how tanki has been working on improving the problems the players have been facing. I wish, I wish tanki had better and quicker ways to deal with mults who create a havoc and help the enemy team win the game.

I just lost a battle because a player multing the whole time helping the enemy team and I couldn't be less furious  `.

Yes, I know the best way to get a person banned is by taking a recording. But unfortunately, majority of the players don't have any screen recorder downloaded. These players silently bear the consequences. These players then use the '/vote nickname' command. In this topic, I am going to discuss about reporting a player on an 'on-going' battle!

-If the team is cooperative enough, the report goes through- and if not, the mult gets away with it!

When the report goes through, the spectator takes ages to actually get to the act. If players are lucky enough, they get to communicate with the spectator. But most of us are unlucky because by the time the spectator responds, the battle ends! And again, the mole gets away with it.

Also, when the spectator responds, the mult starts acting all normal/leave the battle and once again, they win!

- I remember once when my team reported a violator (mult), I was the one to communicate the issue to the spectator. After a small conversation, the spectator decided to warn me instead for making a false accusation. I don't know where I went wrong but it was a very unprofessional behaviour by the spectator. I mean, if a number of people reported against the same guy, it means that there has to be some problem with that particular player. Right?

If you see, mults win either way. These mults have gotten very used to the system of '/vote nickname' and they clearly don't fear at all, because they know that no one (higher authority) is going to do anything about it!

So coming back to the question: Does '/vote nickname' really help? To some extent, yes. But majority of the time, N.O.

I would like to know how reporting an offender really works? When does the report goes through? Why does it take long for the spectator to respond? After the spectator responds, how does he actually monitor the game? Does the spectator gets to see what happened in the game previously (If not, tanki should consider doing something of this sort)? I want a clear explanation of the system. Lastly, is tanki working on improving this system? When can we expect a positive change?

Thank you for you time.

HI Battle Mods

I have a question.

DO you think that the 5-15 minute requirement regarding recording time is fair and/or relevant for all cases.

I realise that for Mults and sabotage it is probably necessary to record a certian amount of footage to prove that it was not just a 1 time event.

But for Hacking / cheating etc do you really feel that 5 minutes is necsesary?

Lets use the jump hack as a problem as it is the only one i have personally witnessed.  So I enter a battle (i had a great example in noise) and see someone blatantly using the jump hack to collect flags etc etc.  The enemy team is virtually powerless against it and subsequently lose.

Now when i joined there was around 3 minutes left so I have no idea how long he had been there.  My point is that if i record him using jump hacks (and it is obvious in the video) then why should I have to do this for 5 minutes and further ruin my teams chance by effectively multing whilst trying to watch this player cheating for 5 minutes?

I have also see that these jump hackers may join a battle - hack for some time capping flags and hoping a gold drops and then leave before 5 minutes is up.  This avoids people reporting it and the subsequent ban.

Surely a 10 second clip of a blatant jump hack is enough for a permaban?

Your thoughts please.

Do battle mods have time to play on TO?

Ratings list:

I would therefore conclude in most cases yes, but not that much. ^_^

i would like to know how hard it is for the battle mods to keep switching the servers and battle by battles to do there job? as there is always someone reporting somebody.

dont you guys feel like that your squad should consist of more members just to help you with the work?

how much time do you spent on the daily basis doing your job?

and what when somebody reports and you get into that battle. all you can see is members from different community doing trash talk in the chat. and you dont know that language. so basically you know nothing whats going on? then what do you do

you know most of the players hate battle mods(not because they got banned by you) but you dont show up when they report/vote somebody. what would you like to say about it?

there are only 3 main server which needs more monitoring RU1,2 and 3. like is it really tough to monitor these 3 servers while i think there are enough battle mods. so this must be easy right?

Sometimes 10 seconds are enough and sometimes not , so recording more time will help us more to be sure and to take the right decision .

What exactly do Battle Moderators do and how long do they do it for per day/week?

→ Battle Moderators

Do battle mods have time to play on TO?

Of course they play !

Battle mod never came to the report.. ONLY time when there was a battle mod was when I was "aim hacking" I kept trickshotting beginners at the low ranks xD

/vote command only works in battle chat when at least 25% of all players in battle will use this command on the violator. Battle Moderators can't cover all tanki online battles !
