Let's discuss Tanki Online HTML5 Version.

This was revealed in the livestream in this month. [Excerpt from Flexoo's article on the live stream]

Tanki Online will no longer remain a flash game but it will be on a brand new HTML5 engine.

This is a very good decision because flash is becoming a pretty outdated technology and many browsers are disabling flash by default.

This will also enable Tanki to run efficiently on browsers because modern browsers like Internet Explorer Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome work very well with HTML5.

HTML5 is also a lot more efficient compared to Flash so there may be some improvements in the game engine which may result in better performance.

But of course, switching to a different language requires time so the process will take a few months if not many.

So feel free to discuss about this new version here. ;)

do we have safari map?

I think he means the Browser called Safari and not a map if I'm not mistaken.

Safari is a web browser developed by Apple based on the WebKit engine. First released in 2003 with Mac OS X Panther, a mobile version has been included in iOS devices since the introduction of the iPhone in 2007.

HTML5 is honestly something i have never used nor never heard of till they mentioned it in the V-Log . I'm extremely excited about the mobile version of Tanki though

I never heard of HTML5.

wut is html5? do i need to download it like flash?

For the people wondering about what HTML5 is, it is basically Adobe Flash's successor with the ability to be used on mobile devices and more secure.

But I really hope Tanki doesn't get an app. Because having an app=whiny five year olds who spam RK

It's a language that's a lot more efficient than flash.

I believe HTML5 is a combination of HTML4, CSS and JavaScript.

Flash files are pretty heavy and it's a good thing that they're going to introduce HTML5

I believe with the new HTML5 Technology the graphics of the game can be improved, such as more moving parts on tanks, like the fan on the back of Freeze spinning and perhaps reloading features on other turrets.

Might be a little bit like TX but little features like that would be cool.

YouTube runs on HTML5 (I don't know if you have visited that site), as well as countless other websites. It's much, much better than Adobe Flash.

Flash Player is old and full of errors, it needs to go. Out with the old and in with the new.

Further developing of Tanki Online is so limited right now because everything is built around and upon an outdated platform.

The game is full of fatal errors and lags because Flash Player can't keep up with the increasing graphics and new features that are added in the game. I lag out instantly if I max out my settings at 60FPS because of the hardware acceleration of Flash Player.

Mouse controls suck in Shaft's scope mode. The controls aren't fully supported by Flash which only detects diagonal, up down, left and right. This causes jerky movement and a lot of latency. Not to mention the terrible screen deforming when you're moving your scope while holding the right mouse key. It's a nice feature but not when it causes all types of screen bugs which forces me to restart the whole game.

Please focus on HTML5 migration developers, don't focus on fixing erros in this stupid platform.

I've been thinking that very same thing ever since I started playing.

I don't know if you were being sarcastic in your last paragraph, but you do know that moving to HTML5 will significantly help eliminate lag and errors...

The profile statistics weren't counting at this point in time.

The profile statistics weren't counting at this point in time.

The profile statistics were introduced late in the game, quite late, not that long as far as I know. On the 31st of October before Halloween, was when the personal profile, statistics and Achievements were added —  and as you already know, users got the ability to view their own and other players’ basic gameplay statistics.

Back to topic... it is great that TO is moving to HTML and it will fix a lot of things like lags and other things since Flash can't keep up with all the latest things but on the hand.. releasing TO for smart phones is not a great thing in my opinion. Hopefully the lags will get reduced once Tanki moves from Flash to HTML.

When Tanki moves over to HTML5, will we receive a new version of AlternivaEdtior and TTT? Both use Flash and I really hope that they move over to HTML5 as well. Otherwise, the mapmaking community will not be very happy....

They will probably tell us more information about it later so for now they didnn't give us much details about it and every time it gets closer, they will inform us on the V-Log so I guess we just have to wait and see.  :)
