Topic moved  (from Ideas and suggestions)

I see one of the game designers playing Tanki on a controller, but I can't tell which kind of controller it is.

It shoooould work if you manage to map keys to your kontroller actions, and so simulate a keyboard. Tanki does definitely work with simulated keyboard entries.

I hope you get some help here in the Problems & Solutions section;

if it turns out to be impossible by now and that a code change is necessary, then you can get it back to the ideas section.

good luck :)

There is a way already and @BlackWasp777 did right to merge the topic in here.

There is a program called XPadder, for which is a third party software, and it allows you to map out keyboard keys, on to a game controller. It is a great app that can simulate the controls of the keyboard on a controller. Here is a full guide on how to set it up in Youtube:

Also for those who are looking a full guide on how to connect and play TO using  a PS4 controller, here is the full guide for you on the Forum.

Please note: Any use, function, or failure of this software is not due to Tanki, and no responsibility is taken for any issues that may occur.

ok... so you have to detect every button on the controller first and organise them into the layout of the controller (not a major issue) and then assign them the keyboard buttons (a quick 5 minute job)

im not sure if this will work for PS4 controllers but i asume as long as windows has some sort of driver for it and uses it as a default controller then it should work fine...

Also xpadder has to be running in  the background the whole time (again not so much a big deal)

Awsome thanks guys :)

Awsome thanks guys :)

Great, it is only a matter of time before you get the hang of it fully so practice it and you will be good to go. Have a great time!
