Rank brackets too large

so ive been playing tanki for a short while. maybe around 2 month (i bought st. valentine kit which started up my p2w career). so i dont know much about anything besides twins spam+range alteration= all nups die and 10.5 k/d in all match MINMUM. but they increased rank brackets.

 

now as i said i dont know much. what i do know is that im facing folks 5 rank higher than me and more and they have m2s. i have m1 and i dont have high enough rank for m2. i would have got all m2 when i could but at moment the only m2 i got was from osaka kit which, btw, is bad. so why are devs making m1 and m2 face off like they did with m0 and m1. honest i kno im being hypocrite cause i stomped recruit nups when i had m1 and they had m0 but face it. thats been like that for a while. so why isnt tanki making changes so that m1 can face off against m1, m2 against m2, m3 against m3 and m4 p2w micro-upgrades against m4. why it have to be m1 against m2 and m2 against m4. i dont get it maybe somebody can explain to me. 

 

i watch their v-log and i cant find any awnser. otherwise i wouldnt post a thread and get a whole bunch of haters attack me.

Erm... don't use the battle button, choose battles manually. Also, try playing on the server one lower than your designated server. And just look for battles where you're upper ranks. K?

 

Also, you could try entering the Newspaper contests, including the more quizzical Arabic and Hindi ones, as well as the EN ones. Those offer lots of crystals per month, even more so if you also enter Arabic and Hindi ones and are good at doing whatever they task you to do :p

 

Those crystals can help massively in getting big stuff, and try slightly MUing the early M2s you get, those you get till about Second Lieutenant. By about Major, try getting em MUed nicely (don't dare MU beyond that rank), but be careful and dont waste crystals!

this. I do this alot cause my automatic server is EN2 which puts me with Coloniaks and Major General but if I switch over to EN3 I can also find battles that have lower ranks in them

regardless - Rank brackets are too wide.  One could spend > time searching for appropriate battles than actually playing battles.

 

bad enough at high levels where there could be a Legend with equivalent of 25+ levels higher (and the garage to support it).

 

They also widened the brackets at lower levels... M0 facing m2s?  Silly.

I didn't think much about the rank brackets before but now it is bothering me. Everytime I play against lower ranks I get insulted for being a drugger or something else. It's clear jealousy because my supply use is NOT excessive (every supply I have, I earnt from missions). The teams also get REALLY inbalanced, for example I could have something like 20 kills, whilst the next best on my team is 4 or 5... Half way into the battle I realise I'm wasting my supplies and quit.

 

On the flip side, many legends have superior equipment to me so that makes my life harder, but at least PRO battles level out the playing field. Shame tanki messed about with the missions.

I agree that the rank brackets should be lowered. When I log in, the game always puts me on EN2 where most of the battles have as one of the lowest ranks. Most battles on EN2 can go up to or higher, which is the rank you can buy M3 kits. My M2s don't stand a chance against M3s with 35% protection from my turret.

 

The best thing to do is go down a server from the one the game puts you in. EN3 server there's a good selection of battles where is one of, if not the, highest rank.

As stated by other people, don't use the Battle button. Manually search for battles that suit your rank. Otherwise, buy a Pro Pass, make a Pro Battle and decrease the rank bracket.

I agree. At first I thought "A few extra low rankers in battle won't hurt - I face Generalissimos fairly often anyway." But as I started playing, it became really problematic. 99% of the battles I can play all have rank higher than mine, never lower, which means I usually face all M3s, maybe a couple M2s. It doesn't help that I'm at the rank where I couldn't get M3s even if I wanted to, save through micro-upgrades. I'm stuck in the transitional stage between the mid-game and the end-game, where buyers really manifest themselves. And this is not an issue exclusive to my rank - on a lower account (First Sergeant) I am getting into battles against Warrant Officer 5s! 

 

It doesn't help that there are few non-PRO battles. Maybe it would be good if I bought a PRO pass and could play any battle I wanted to, and create my own? I did and I was disappointed. Unfortunately, most of the PRO battles are either drug-fests (SCD off) or parkour battles. Players are using PRO pass for the same reasons they were using them before battle creation was removed: XP/BP, parkour, or drug wars. For a "casual" player like me who just wants to play a normal battle on his favorite map it's a lose-lose.

 

If they add a matchmaker it will really be the nail in the coffin for battle selection.

1) You do make a fair point. At your rank I was so excited that I was nearing the end of the game and presumed that the torturous battles where I was using my horrible M2s versus M4s would all pay off once I bought a new kit. I bought Legend Kit and normal battles were still just as bad for me. Everyone had protection so it really is difficult. It also is extremely difficult for low rankers when WO3/4s can come into battles against Majors and Majors can battle against Legends - it's a scary cycle. Naturally, we tend to prey on lower rankers but it just keeps making it gradually too difficult for lower ranked players.

 

2) At your rank, you just have to tough it out. Those ranks are probably the hardest. Get till Marshal and my only advice is play XP/BP. It's an even playing ground where buyers don't dominate. It also has great crystal/EXP ratios. 

 

3) You're probably right.

 

You make some really fair points that are very true. Those mid-ranks are the torturous and difficult ranks to go through but it's worth it once you waste all your money and get a full M4 garage reach Legend and look back at your achievements.

True. However, before I could play battles on maps I liked despite the grind. The idea now is to get players to play on less popular maps, but why? 

 

I tried XP/BP some time ago and even though I liked it, I couldn't stand my K/D inevitable going down (being the stat-padder I was). Now that I approach the game from a perspective where I'm trying to enjoy the game rather than have good stats or be better than someone else I find XP/BP much more fun. An added bonus of having a PRO pass is the ability to play in "Moon mode," which is probably the best update of 2017 yet.

I think they need to revert back to reducing the space in ranks for matches... i dont know about anyone else but im finding myself in alot of games  that have Generalissimo and Commander ranks....so m2 against fully micro upgraded m3's? i dont really see how its both fair and enjoyable?

I used to play xp/bp a lot when I was at your rank, but now I hardly see polygon cp xp/bp for m2 ranks.

 

I've tried playing with m3 xp/bp players, but rail m3 has a huge advantage over my m2, so I wouldn't recommend joining them.

 

There are plenty of polygon no supplies for your rank. You have m2 twins, so you should do well there.

Noise CTF is another option.

 

I know it gets boring, but there simply aren't enough no supplies options at your rank.

 

At my rank, there are a few more maps in no supply modes.

Just keep grinding away until you can buy an m3 kit.

i think there going to need to be reduces again because i personally thing they will lose alot of players..... who would play a game you cant win ?

 

especially when you get abuse from players when you use supplies
