I have both, in m2 upgrade. I notice that I used railgun more than thunder as it is more fun and lot of shoot and hide tactics which is fun too. I stopped using thunder (around colonel, but used it recently again to see how it is like again) due to many emeralds, rustles, cedar, etc.

Today, in silence II with 4 players each side and I was using m2 smokey and wasp with no drugs left. I pawned a drugger with m2 mammy with m3 twins and he changed  to m3 freeze and mammy and still pawned him...

M3 Mammoths on drugs 24/7 with Prodigi paint. . saw some today. . .

^I remember there was this mammy m3 and smokey m3 with prodigi and was drugging non stop, and our team was having more then 5 rails including me. He was no match.

 

Well all turrets have at least one annoying paint.

well, I would get thunder, just because I have bettere D/L than that.. Maybe it's because you are used on playing with rail.

Yeah plus, my Thunder is currently M0 while my Rail has already been M1'ed. Would be pointless to get Thunder after Twins especially considering I already have 8 M1s.

Firebird for every upgrade except m0 IMO. I can beat an m1 freeze with m1 firebird head to head if we have the same tank. Even if they have a bigger hull, the after burn gets the job done ;) m2 shall be great.
