I really recommend Railgun, it fits every hull (it's good on your viking and soon on your hornet) and it's very fun to use :)

I am using a m1 viking with storm paint and M1 smoky, M1 firebird, and occasionally M1 Shaft. I have around 8k crystals right now, so should I invest in a freeze m1 or should I save up for higher level stuff like m1 rail or hornet? I really like the close range weapons, but I feel like I am past my days of firebird m1. I like all types of maps.

I used thunder with hornet for 2 ranks(captain, major) and it is so powerfull when you have it with Rustle/Cedar paint. At lieutenant colonel(current rank) i decided to buy viking m2. At first, it was a pain because it is slower, but i got used to it and now i think viking is better.

I like to capture flags, but sometimes i like to defend my flag and here is the problem. Viking isn't very fast to capture flags but it helps you when you are using thunder, for 2 reasons: 1- vikikng is for waepons with a good range, 2- if you have an enemy near you, you don't lose a lot of hp, and that dosen't help with hornet. Viking is also good to stay in the base defending you´re flag, and hornet doesn't help a lot with that but it is good to captura flags if you have paints like you said, rustle or cedar. If you don't have paints, viking is the best option , I tinhk. So I agree with you.
