Since the only hull you're using is Hornet, Viking m2 might be a nice change of pace, which you can use with basically all the guns you already own. Though if you're planning ahead, take Hunter instead of Viking, because m3's Hunter simply put is much better.

Wow, that's impressive, usually I get top 4 in DM using Thunder/Viking & Clay, but got killed way too many times and had to spam lots of drugs... how do you reduce the amount of loss? Should I focus on getting fully MU-ed clay and/or Hunter? Man, I still need to practice Thunder more these days.

How I reduce my amout of loss, is by always be aware of my surroundings. I tend to use pg up/ pg down a lot, that minimizes surprises. MU-ing stuff is always advisable, however another combo might suit you better. Just MU what you like best!

 

Though if you're planning ahead, take Hunter instead of Viking, because m3's Hunter simply put is much better.

Now how can you say that!? Both Hunter and Viking serve an entirely different purpose on the battle field...

Twina is not so good after upd .

Rico is a little good than smoky .

And smoky is better than all 3 ...

Agree with ^Snow.HD, only I would definitely recommend Smoky M2!

 

Twins M2: the weapon itself or is it due to the skill-level of the majority of Tankers that use it? Not that good.

 

Rico M2: a bit OP M2 even while it 's an early upgrade, and it stays strong for many ranks.

At it 's best in smaller and cluttered Maps.

Still it 's no match IMO and own experience against the next turret...

 

Smoky M2!: you got the proper rank, another very good reason to get this late and powerful M2 upgrade.

Very versatile and relentless turret. The criticals are the top of the bill, and using the impact force

to put opponents of aim is extremely useful to minimize respawning...

 

...and ofcourse it is the best because of the upcoming sale! :P

I was giving him advice for the turrets he owned. I think Hunter m3 will serve him much better than Viking m3. May I?  ;)

I pretty much always use hornet railgun as i have been playing it for a long time, but i have noticed firebird player quickly defeating others at close quarters, i try to play any game style i can to win, but mostly attack and defense

I'm debating whether to use Firebird/Wasp or Hunter/Thunder. I love both combinations, but I don't know which one I should upgrade to M2 as prices are skyrocketing now...I mainly play in TDMs with the occasional CTF, and typically play mid-field or near the enemy base where I ruin defenses/capture the flag

Only M2 Hornet at m2

Dictator M2 is a good hull, but it 's quite an exceptional hull.

Though it might be the better choice if you want to continue with only Rail.

 

If you plan to take another weapon than the Railgun: the Hunter M2 might be a good choice.

A nice hull with especially the Ricochet M2: Hunter M2/Rico M2 is an OP combo at your rank!

Hunter is also great with the Smoky M2 but that 's only at Colonel 's rank.

( if possible micro-upgrade the HP of the Hunter M2: worthwhile or even needed )

 

Hunter is also good in combination with Thunder, but in that case I would personally choose the Viking M2.

 

Not so much info to "work" with: so I hope it 's a helpful advice.
