What to buy? Which is better?

Should I buy M1 Hammer or M1 Rico at Mayday sale. I will upgrade whichever turret I get to M2 at tanki's birthday. I play primarily Polygon CP using M2 mammoth, and I plan on getting M2 XP

That is kind of up to you. If you like one over the other get it, and do the first few steps of micro-upgrades now and continue on Tanki's BD.

Although the 25% discount is not much, if you buy one piece of equipment, you should be able to recover more than the difference in discount within a month. If you were to buy a bunch of turrets and hulls, I'd have suggested to get only one piece or one of each and wait for the bigger discount to get the rest. The difference in price is < 9K. You can earn those in a week and enjoy the new turret for 3 weeks.

Good luck.

Ive pretty well figured out the hulls i want; hornet, hunter, dictator.

Im still in debate of which turrets to get. I have isida m2 and will definately buy rail, basically only for xp.

The turrets i have interest in, in order from greatest to least are:

- rico

- shaft

- vulcan

- hammer

- thunder

- twins

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I play all gamemodes, but mostly ctf, and prefer to play on medium maps like rio, polygon, stadium, etc.

I play all positions, but mostly mid-field

But if you must get something, get Ricochet.  It's better on Mammoth than Hammer.

I love Rico, others love hammer, thunder, etc. What do you love? I assume that you have tried those at M1 or M0 or on the test servers. If you asked which was better for this map/mode/play style, people might be able to give more input.

^ Thanks for reply, Shadow. I have to think of Viking m2 later.I have another weird idea: if I combine dictator m2 and isida m2, and make this a healing fortress in the centre of the pit to earn points/heal... Would be it be silly?

Isida is nerfed but it would still be a good idea. May want a lower hull though as dictator is easy to hit and target in the middle of a pit

I have a lot of cry and I don't know what to spend it on. I initially was planning on buying m2 hunter and Shaft, but Shaft is crap since the laser update (you ruined my life with that update, Tanki). I will probably buy hunter m2 but since I'm unsure of what turret to upgrade, the turret that i settle on buying may not be as effective with Hunter than a different hull. The only m2's that I have are Isida and Hornet. My main paints are Corrosion, Desert and In Love. My m1's are Hunter, Mammoth, Shaft, Rail, Thunder, Smokey, and Firebird. I guess you could say that I'm a long range kind of guy. I prefer to kill from afar. I like Smokey and Hunter, but it lacks the aiming capabilities of Shaft. However, Shaft has that stupid laser still, so lets pretend like its not an option. Thunder, meh. Rail, meh. Rail is ssuper common, reload time stinks, and the only map it's good for is Monte Carlo, and Thunder's splash damage is really effective at killing me. I think that Smokey would be my number one choice, but I am only a Major. My current thinking is that I will wait for the June sale and buy m2 Hunter and Smokey. But any thoughts are appreciated, especially higher level players that have gone through tough decisions similar to mine. Anyways, I have crystals burning a hole in my pocket, and I need some advice.

Thanks!

^I had a different main account (hence the V2), and i personally would wait for the june sale and get hunter smoky. Rail is useless unless you play xp, and thunder lost its "uniqueness" imo, and basically became just an ordinary turret. Now the new generation of shafts just point their lasers like "im here! Kill me!" kinda thing, but the old generation (you) must hide it. Point it at the ground, wall etc. to hide it. BAM! Theyll never see it coming. Buy shaft too. :P NEVER abandon your fav turret on an update like that. Severely decreased damage is a whole different story. Plus, shaft hunter looks SWEG. Im gonna buy them when i have the chance.

Yeah after writing that I kinda decided that buying Hunter m2 during the current 25% sale then buying m2 Smokey in June when I (hopefully) have enough rank to buy it. And yeah I know about the tricks to keep the laser from turning into a giant arrow pointing at me but it doesn't work all the time, and if you are like me I usually never see people stupid enough to move in front of me and just stop, so I can shoot them. I have to expose myself to get the job done, so I just stopped going to work. Shaft is powerful, but I will probably wait awhile so I can focus on more important matters like m3 Isida and Hornet.

While I'm here, I might as well ask about the score multiplier pass. What does it do? Does it increase your rank? And what doesn't work when playing in team battles?

Did you consider Ricochet?

It does not affect your rewards, but your exp points that are printed next to your rank on the top left corner will get boosted. Usually when you are in battle the score you earn will be added to your experience as you earn it as is, so let's say in a battle you had a score of 1000. Your experience after the battle will be 1000 more than what it was before the battle. With the SMPs, it will be 1300, 1500, and 2000 more, so you get to rank up earlier than you would, but you will not have more rewards, so it's like instead of needing 20000 exp points to your next rank, it will be divided by 1.3, 1.5, or 2 so it would be 15385, 13334, or 10000 points to your next rank.

In DM normally you get 10 xp per kill instead it will boost according to what persentage you buy but in normal matches like team games its useless and i suggest you not to buy it

Not sure why you are down on the rail.  I dominate with the rail and have since before I went M2.  I use an M2 rail witha an M1 Viking and the only maps i won't play this on are the tiny maps.  RIO - dominate, Seperholv - dominate, Monte Carlo - dominate and of course the even bigger maps.  You say you like long range, well, this is the gun for long range, period, far as i am concerned.  It just takes practice.  I admit i am one of the better railgunners out there so take it with a grain of salt (not bragging, just saying i admit, i have played the rail a LOT so i am rly good with it).  I average a 4-5 to 1 kill ratio (and often end competitive games with 20 to 1 kill ratios).  I even like using it with my M2 hornet though if i am grabbin flags, i usually slap my richochet on there.  I almost always finish in top 3 points.  The thing about rail is that it's long range, sure, but up close, if you know what you are doing and have a decent hull, you can usually survive.  What i like is that you don't have to drive across the map to make points.  you can hit anyone, anywhere.  Occassionally, at our level, i see guys with Shaft dominate but these are the really good guys and they have huge M2 hulls and usually, Isidas keeping em alive. There is a reason why the rail is common.  The only other advice i can give you is to use mines.  Mines are worth it and can pay for themselves.  I usually only need to use 2-3 mines per game, and then everyone gets the message - "don't go over there!"  Once you establish your "AO" with mines, you usually can hit someone far enough away that by the time they get to you, you get that second kill shot.  Of course on lighter hulls the M2 rail will usually pop em on the first shot.  On every map i usually work the same spot.  Players have even gotten used to me taking up my position and the Isidas, once they start to realize "he is always there" - will come and heal you.  If you are too random, moving all over, that's not good for a rail.  Pick a spot, learn to dominate it, and your team, if they are any good, will back you up.  On Seperholv, i can usually join a team that is behind and once i get established, if they back me up, we can turn it around and win because i know my spot so well but again, i always, always, play the same spots.  The other team knows i am there, nothing they can do about it unless they bum rush with me 4-5 tanks and they do, but then if you have the other team strategizing against YOU, you are doing somthing right.

Thunder has always needed MUs at M3 to make it stronger, to make up for the early unlock. Thunder with MUs was amazing before and still is now
