I want to ask something about the micro upgrades.  Are they worth it?  In a recent v-log, it was said that they now are fully the next level, and the cost is the same.  Is this true?  I've seen the wiki charts, but I'm not sure if they are accurate.

They are the same cost as before, not the same cost as the next modification.

They are worth it if you have time to recover what you paid for them or you buy them at a high discount, especially for first several steps, depending on the situation, so usually do not upgrade what does not matters much. For example if your turret's damage is low, who cares if you can rotate it fast? If your hull's protection is miserable, so what if you have a fully upgraded weight?

Not unless you want to take it further. Say you are interested in getting Thunder M2, then buy Thunder M1, and so on.

smoky m2 for sure, because the fast reloading and the critical damage.

Twins and viking m2 very useful in short and medium range battles.

what should i buy at the next sale?  i could save a little more crystals and buy railgun M1 ( i have hornet m1 already ) or i could buy another gun such as twins m1 or shaft m1 or even thunder m1 what would you guys suggest?

I was about to buy Dictator M2 this sale but didn't because it's M3 version unlocks at Generalissimo which is too far.

 

   I don't know.... Many people advised me not to buy paints now since I will replace them later on, anyway. So, for example, Rustle will be replaced by Emerald.

I'm not sure going for paints is such a good idea.

Buying Rustle or Cedar would be good for you. While Emerald does outclass them both, Clay outclasses Emerald (with MU's). If you can bear to wait a 6 more ranks past when Emerald unlocks (or do not get a lot of crystals) then you should get Cedar now. It's Thunder protection is the same as Rustle, and the secondary protections don't mean too much as you will be using Cedar primarily for its Thunder protection. Then get Clay when you hit Gissmo and MU the Thunder protection A fully MU'ed Clay has 50% Ricohet/Thunder/Railgun protection, FYI.

Garage : Dict m2, Isida m2, Honret m2, Twins m1

Playing style : CTF's, TDM's.... mostly short - mid ranged ( Island, Noise, Silence, Arena, Polygon e.t.c)

Position : Mid [ Attack + Defend (heal) ]

Im planning to save up for Twins m2... but its still far from my rank... and i really need to buy a new paint ASAP, my older ones really suck!!

* UPDATE : I need a paint with protections prefferably from Twins, Isida and Smoky.. ( A combo is what I need )

Is it worth buying a paint at full price? I only have 2 protective paints in my garage which are Forester (10% Rail protection) and Pixel (30% Hammer and 10% Smoky protection) so I need a new paint kinda badly. I was thinking of getting Cedar since I use Thunder a lot so it'll help me from splash damage and opposing Thunders, and I also like the way Cedar looks, but 42k seems like a lot for a paint, so does anyone know when the next paint sale is? I know there was just a paint sale 3 days ago, but I was only Warrant Officer 4 at the time and I was saving for Hunter M1, Thunder M1, and Twins M1. Right now i'm at 30k should I be saving for M2s or should I go for Cedar or maybe even Corrosion since it's a little cheaper then Cedar? I heard some of the higher ranks say that paints at these ranks aren't worth it, but will I be fine with only Forester and Pixel until then?

Cedar might give you an advantage in a duel with another thunder user, or equal it out with them if they have cedar too. Winning such duels is a particular satisfaction.  

 

However what you really need to look at is how many hits you can survive in a hunter and does a paint infer any advantage in surviving more hits with whatever hull you are using versus the expected weapons you would be getting hit by.  I use avg. damage/hit

If it does not give you an extra hit then it is not worth it.

If it does then you have to think about it. 

 

Both the Hunter M1 and the Viking M1, need a little extra to usually survive 2 hits by M1 Shaft(190) and Rail(200), and 3 hits(210) by M1 Thunder. Corrosion will do that.

 

Cedar will enable an M1 Hunter or Viking to survive 3 hits(210) by Thunder with fair certainty , and maybe a 4 th hit rarely. And it works against Thunder self damage- which is less nowadays. Also Cedar does that masking thing when in vegetation/bushes, which is something to think about. You may have noticed that with forrester too.

 

All figure are based on lower MU levels but assume some. 1-5  or so. I don't expect there are many full MU M1's.

At m2, twins is still better, but don't use it as it won't help you build up skills.

You tape your space bar down and go around your business without a care in the world whose aim you knock off. You do not have to reload, you do not have to manage heating up, you do not have self damage, you do not have anything. That is how it is a noob weapon.
