So when xmas arrives on the doorstep I'll bet my left arm there'll be some sort of discount. I'm going to be buying a paint which offers protection from the newer turrets (hammer/vulcan) and I've decided Raccoon looks the most appealing atm. Just want some opinions between a couple paints from some players )))

 

I play Noise, Silence, Polygon, Forest the most often (in the order of most played to least I believe)

Before, I thought it took 3 shots for an m2 Thunder to kill a Hornet. This is only the case if they slightly miss, I think. Now, I have been looking at things differently...

 

 

• Will Firebird m2 last me until M3 ranks? I think it can; I just want confirmation.
• Hammer vs Thunder;

Thunder has range, but Hammer more damage overall (including reloads, etc.). If Firebird will do the job that Hammer can do, then I do not really need it. Even if Thunder isn't the best when compared with other weapons, it still has range, unlike Hammer (and Firebird). Therefore, Thunder would be the better choice; it can cover the medium-longer ranges, and Firebird the shorter to medium. That would be better than two short-range turrets that are both used on similar maps. I want another turret because I want a change from "chase the enemy, try to get to them, and circle and burn". Firebird is probably my favourite turret, but I do want variety.

 

Lastly, there is the question of "should I buy Hunter m2, nothing, or wait for a later m2 (Viking or maybe Titan)". If I get nothing, then I will be saving for m3s. I am leaning towards Hunter, but I'm still not sure. As people probably know, my only m2 hull is Hornet.

 

 

Thunder M2:

 

52-79.5 Damage per shot.

 

Hits against hulls:

 

Hornet health- 141hp

 

Lowest damage= 3 shot kill (2.7 shots)

Highest damage= 2 shot kill (1.8 Shots)

 

Hunter health- 200hp

 

Lowest damage= 4 shot kill (3.85 shots)

Highest damage= 3 shot kill (2.5 shots)

 

 

If you read the stuff in the spoiler, you will see that Hunter only saves me about one extra shot from a Thunder (compared to Hornet). However, there are other turrets which will be easier to challenge with the extra heath.

 

Thanks to anyone who responds :). I have mentioned these things before, but now I am more certain about what I want. By the way, I have over 133k, and will have more by Christmas.

Buy Viking M2 when you reach the required rank. Thunder and Hammer both pair beautifully with bae :wub: If you like to play in small maps like Island, Hill and Sandbox, go for Hammer. It is also an excellent choice for controlling a single point (Polygon). On the other hand, however, thunder is an excellent choice for Polygon too, and I once got a score of 1200 with it in a 15 minute polygon CP.... It is also an excellent medium ranged turret.

Yes that is a bad idea. At least wait for a sale and use half the crystals... I'd recommend buying another turret because you may get bored of isida from time to time... Or a paint if you really wanted ))

Okay, sounds sweet; Hunter may be out of the picture now.  The downside to buying Viking m2 is that I need to rank up for it (one rank, plus 7k xp). I won't be able to do that before the sales. When would the next sale possibly be, besides Christmas? Also, would Viking m2 last into m3 ranks, and be competent against Viking m3s (and other m3s) that will start appearing? If so, I could wait for a better hull than Viking m3, and use the m2 till I buy something else. Thanks for your help.

I would say it does. In battles Marshal and under there are still a lot of M2 hulls; e.g. I see a good amount of M2 Dictators. It would definitely be in your interest to be able to get M3 Vik when you're a Lt Gen, but that's still a long ways off. You can always use M2 Titan or Mammoth, they work fine through the gold star ranks.

 

There isn't a huge difference between M2 and M3 stats-wise. The one thing I would watch out for is for upgraded Thunders since they can take out a M2 Vik in 3 shots. M2 Fire is still gonna be a problem (in general unless you have Fire paint). Overall M2 Vik is fine. I still use it sometimes (until New Years) in Sandbox and large maps (e.g. Kungur) and don't have huge problems with it.

Okay, thanks. I would be able to get Mammoth m2, but I don't really want to go full out heavy. The Thunder issue is a worry, but since I am probably buying Thunder I will get Cedar too (38% against Thunder). Viking m2 should be fine against other Thunders. I like Viking because it doesn't completely kill off the speed, yet seems to do okay in battles against heavy hulls. My only issue is the sale (SMP HAS DISAPPEARED!).

Since you use Twins/Titan so much, is it worth it to get Cardinal? Im gonna be 45K short after I rank and buying the kit means missing out on M3 Isida, Viking, and a paint.
