Atlas at unlock () or Minotaur at unlock ()?

I play pretty much any position, depending on the situation, but I prefer midfield.

I also play on pretty much any map.

I'm somewhat experienced with both weapons (alts), and enjoy them both. The turrets would be used both on the hull they come with in the kit and Hornet M2.

Advice?

My Thunder is 26/50, and it does decently in most battles at my rank. I'm not MU'ing it any further until possibly a sale. By the way, having M3 Isida, M3 Thunder, and no M3 hull, would it be smarter to get Redneck, Prometheus, Cardinal, or Paladin?

Mine's currently 45/50 (I got 41/50 from MU update). Anyways, 11/50 is not a bad start. If you get it to around 20/50, it should be good to . But by that point hopefully you will be able to get a stronger turret, like Twins or Smoky

Alright, thanks. I'll look into the cost, etc. and probably MU it the last bit during a sale. That's what I did to get it to 11 in the first place. As for the stronger turret, I am guessing that Prometheus fits in that category? And after that.. I'll need to consider other things to save for. Maybe one of the Titan kits? Or a turret on its own? It's a long way away, though, so this isn't the most urgent concern here :) .

If I MU'd the first 10 steps of Firebird M3 without a sale, it'd cost 44.3k.

Upgrading nine steps improves my reload by only one tenth of a second and an extra 1.9 damage including burn.

 

Is it worth spending this much on such an improvement? I may (most likely) have more crystals, but it'd probably go to better use elsewhere.

If it was just Smoky vs Twins, I would say Smoky is better. Smoky has range, critical hits, and is easier to shoot targets with (in a way). If you are playing small maps, however, Twins is probably the better turret. It does depend on how small the map is, too.

 

As for the kits:

 

Loam is useful, because you'll be seeing a number of Firebirds as you rank more. Its downside is that it mainly protects only against one turret. I won't look into Rhino right now (don't have heaps of time to spare) but I've heard it isn't the best either. Everything will have its use, though, so don't think you won't find it useful.

 

Titan can do well in Poly (but Smoky is only average in Poly). Its health is its advantage and its speed doesn't stand in its way too much; we are talking about Polygon, where you can shoot someone at nearly any time. Viking can do well too; I'm using M2 now, and love it. With Thunder, I'm getting a good D/L and winning. Vik has enough health to keep me going until my enemy dies (in most cases). If you need more than that, then Titan is better..

 

You said that you like playing Midfield. That'd mean that you are picking away at people, and interrupting their travels to flags. You most likely (unless you are Fire, etc.) won't be caught amongst a number of enemies all together as much as an attacker would. Vik serves this role well (and so would Titan, but its slow speed lets it down in most maps). Good speed, decent armour; for mid, it surpasses Titan.

 

So, for Mid-fielding I would pick Minotaur. For general use, Atlas can do just as well as Minotaur; better in larger maps (besides Titan being a large snail). Just a last thought; Northerner (apart from the paint) would be good at mid-fielding too. Not sure if better or worse; probably not worse.

 

As for Hornet..

Smoky may go better with it, but I'm not 100% on this. Hornet lacks health, and Smoky has range. Makes sense?

 

 

 

I keep arguing for both sides, so I'll just tell you what I think here (if you don't want to read, and possibly become confused). Minotaur is better for mid-fielding on small-medium maps. Northerner would be a better pick for larger-medium maps (mid-fielding). Atlas is fine for general use, and does excel, too. Anyway, I would go for Minotaur.

hey guys. I'm relatively new to tanki and have managed to save up 29k crystals. i currently am planning on getting the vampire kit. is that a good idea?  if so what turret or hull is next. i was thinking either railgun or smokey. I'm leaning twords smoky. what do y'all suggest? thanks!

1-Do the last 5 MU steps on Smoky and Buy 3 paints (Tiger-Inferno-Mars/Raccoon)

2-Do the last 5 steps on Smoky and make Isida M4

4-Do the last 5 steps on Smoky and make Viking M4

 I want to hear your opinions guys :)

if you go for smoky, you will end up with viking if you want the kit. railgun can take you with dictator, if you want a kit.

Rico/Titan at would do extremely well I think. Definitely high D/L, and probably top 3. But Twins/Titan is ridiculously OP too; a lot of the time a successful Poly CP team has at least 2 Isidas, >1 Fire, and a few Twins/Titan. But for Poly CP and under, you'll definitely see more Twins protection than Rico protection (e.g. Emerald, Cherry). Prometheus is good too, so either Redneck or Prom.

Since you said Rico and Titan would be awesome and that 2 Isidas > 1 Fire, I probably should get Redneck. That way I can get Titan M3 at the next rank. By the way, if you disagree and think I should get Prometheus for Zeus and Firebird over Lumberjack and Ricochet, let me know. Based off my observations, it seems that you play on Polygon a lot. But just wanted to say, Isida M3 is unlocked at an early rank solely for the purpose of healing Thunders at Brigadier. These bad boys really annoy people when they are protected by good teams, so Isida is definitely essential at least for me to own. Also, getting Prometheus would mean that I have no medium range turret and two short range turrets. Uh oh. If I get Redneck, I would have one short range turret, one medium range turret, and one long range turret. Subsequently owning Titan M3 and Hunter M3 to have in my garage. Also, if someone sees me using Isida and they want to heal their team to boost their chances of winning, they'll have to deal with my Isida and my paint that has 30% protection against opposing Isidas.  :excl:

I plan on getting atlas at captain,and then redneck at marshal,but im not sure atlas will last all the way to marshal.

Because i can't afford MUing both Viking and Isida :D , And i dont have any M4 hull yet , but is M4 Hull (Viking) is more important  than M4 turret (Isida) ?
