What to buy? Which is better?

Are Fire, Rail, Twins, Thunder alterations worth to get? I don't quite like Smoky's.

I don't get the meaning for Isida's alterations: 40% less range, but better cone? Same goes for Vulcan's... are they making it better or worse  -_- *Confused* And Hammer too...

I guess making Hammer's pellet cone thinner increases range, but Vulcan's and Isida's actually makes it worse (I rented Isida's alteration). Smoky's alteration is actually quite good, makes it more fun to use and all the shots your opponent misses makes up for the lost image of the critical hit.

Vulcan's is tricky because it makes it sometimes  better and sometimes worse. The extra horizontal rotation makes it great on flat maps like Desert or Massacre, where not much vertical adjust is needed, but as a result it is far less effective in multi-leveled maps like Madness or Noise.

What about Polygon CPs?

What about Polygon CPs?

I personally would rather work with normal Vulcan in Polygon CP since it would be easier to camp on top of the wall. If you plan on really only camping by buildings and on the main ground, then the Alternation would probably be good for you.

What about Polygon CPs?

It's okay, but those are chaotic and not really suited for camping.

My favorite spot is behind the building where there's a ramp a RK, just mine the area you pop out of and under the ramp, because they might try to flank you there.

Tanki yet again fails to give detailed explanation for each and every alterations, but who cares? 100k is too much for any free player under Marshall rank

My Twins M2 has a 50k Alteration, so its actually fine for me. I'm skipping on it though because I don't mind Twins with shorter range. I find the explanations quite good; just look at what stats are lowered and which are raised when you click on the alteration option.

Has anyone tried the Rico alteration? Is it worth it?

I haven't personally tried it, although it looks the same as the Twins one pretty much. I don't personally think it would be worth it, but like I said I haven't actually tried using it.

The difference is that Twins reload is pretty fast and with alterations, it can boost more damage and projectile speed. But Rico tends to have lower rate of refill. I'm not sure if 25% is a big thing.

Is the Twins alteration worth it? And if you buy the M1 alteration can you use it with M2 or M3?

Yes, you could still use it with M2 and M3.

I do not know if it's worth it, however, but definitely seems interesting.

I think I'm going to get the Twins range modification, I'll let you guys know in here how it is when I test it. I have M2 Twins so obviously it could change a bit in effectiveness based on if it is M1 or M3.

EDIT:

The Twins alteration is quite good if you can handle the pricetag. The heavy increase in bullet speed makes it significantly easier to hit fast opponents, and the range makes Twins much easier to use in maps like Polygon, Rio, and Kungur, I would very much advise it if you like using Twins. The range increase is quite noticeable and useful, and the reload is still at a comfortable amount.

Alterations do not make anything worse or better, it makes one or two values better and one or two values worse, effectively balancing it out.

Here is a diagram I made that shows roughly what happens when you equip an alteration

What is the Thunder alteration? There isn't one available for Thunder M1 so I can't find out. Also, is there only ever one alteration unlocked per turret? Because on all my turrets (all M2 or M1) there is only one alteration I can click on, even though it looks like there would be four options. Do these become available at m3?

Alterations for thunder (I think its m2)

-15% Min & -15% Max, but +25% reload speed.

Yes, either only M1 or M2 alteration per turret is out.
