Get Thunder M2 and get a protection module of it. MU your Hornet a bit, your Railgun and your Thunder, in sales (10-15 steps each). Save up for the 'Legend Kit', 'Touche Kit' or 'Man 'o' War Kit'. If you have more than enough crystals required get an epic paint of your choice :D After you've got the kit just save crystals and get whatever other M3 you want (in the sales). Right now, I can buy any M3 turret. I have a personal discount on shaft, so it is dirt cheap, but that is the only real price difference.

 

I already have thunder, fire, and twins m3, along with viking and hornet m3. I am really debating between rail, fire, shaft, and vulcan right now.

Vulcan.

 

So you have a weapon for every range category.

 

Firebird: Short

Twins: Mid

Thunder: Mid-Long

Vulcan*: Mostly All Ranges

 

* Just get a good Isida friend and a Firebird protective module.

hornet will be pretty weak for thunder, i suggest you to buy simoom lol, which is dictator thunder and griffon t-c (i think)

took a loo at the wiki, griffon t-c has rail,shaft and vulcan, probably going to be useless but u get thunder(what you want), a good hull for thunder in smaller maps and a module, good in some cases, with a gift of ~60 supplies

For mixed modules I usually check both.

For this particial module I would check the number of shots I survive vs a Thunder, vs a Railgun. Those would be more interresting to me. If I see the additional MUs dont give me an advantage (I won't survive an additional shot) then I can still upgrade it in order to save me from the Vulcans afterburn.. but the increase in protection would be for vain if a Railgunn starts to snipe me from some corner.

 

I quickly checked a Titan M4/ Viking M4 -vs- Rail M4 and Thunder M4.. it seems that those additional 5% protection will get you no real benefit. 45% is already very, very fine and upgrading it to 50% will not help you more.

And I guess no railgunner that reads your protection will shoot at you if he finds an easier target, except he equips DP.

For Smoky it depends strongly on the hull you use.

If a smoky threatens my Wasp I have to use the [Nr. Of shots] model. Reason in Spoiler.

 

 

I do this, as with Smoky>vs>my Wasp the biggest threat it means to me, is when the Smoky comes close and keeps me rocking around. Then I need to find some obstacle like a small house, and run around it until my reload is complete, and then try to shot him. As my Wasp has low HP and he (on this close range) has max damage, I count the shots I can survive.

 

 

 

For a Viking M4 - or even more for a Titan M4 - camping at the side of Polygon and spraying the battlefield with Vulcan, you can use the gradual model and live with a sligthly estimation error for the smoky usecase.

 

 

The Smoky will most likely hit you with lower damage (because it will be further away) and keeps pounding your constantly (as you can not simply hide and you have no reload anyways). There you can take the easier gradual model, which is not absolutely correct for this usecase - but truely good enough.

As you calculate for medium and heavy hulls and serious amounts of protections, the number of shots is already high.. so go gradula.

Then I would take the average damage a smoky deals and calculate with this.

I remeber it correct, the Smoky has a 20% chance on a hit that deals 10% more damage.. 0,20 x 0,10 = 0,02. So just increase Smokys non-critical-damage by 2..3% and use this for your estimation. Should be fine enough.

 

Again I think the 45% for rail are fine and you don't need more, as long as you have other modules to spend your crystals on.

The gradual advantage of going from 45% to 50% is about +10% survival time, which is not thaaaaat much, compared for the price you pay.

 

If you are fine at the moment, save your crystals for christmas.

By then the M3 alternations will (most likely!) be published and at christmas they usually offer a MU sale

60% poly cp, 30% missions, 10% random/gold hunting. I like attaking. Freeze is my favourite turret. Is it now better than my twins?

As you play mainly poly CP, your combo is perfect anyways.

 

Stay on it and save for M3 kits.. then you can expand your garage for more turrets later on. Believe me, It _will_ be expensive ;)

It makes very much sense to go through the M2 ranks with just one main combo.. and save all you can for later

That's only 19k for an M2 (yeah, maybe the worst, but who cares).

 

I'd be getting it so I could try it, and have fun with it, not to use it in battles seriously (I have Fire M2, Thunder M3 and Rail M2 for that now). Any objections?

 

(As for comments about saving for M3s later, I am only thinking about Prometheus, in the future, as everything else is just way too far away (Marshal now...); I probably won't even get to Prom, let alone the others. So, considering that I may not even reach the "fun M3 stage", is it reasonable to go for this (it's really cheap)?).

I currently have 15k crystals. I am gonna rank and I am gonna complete my Halloween mission. After all of that, I should have about 19k+ crystals. 

Should I purchase Firefly with my crystals or keep saving for a better kit like Matrix, Corsair or Gunslinger?
