Universal Soldier.

Annihilator and Minotaur are OP.

I wouldn't have referred him to those if he wasn't only 10k away from ranking.

I ranked up and got Annihilator.

What do you guys think of paladin?

I'm a fan of medium to large maps and already have thunder 30/50, but im thinking smoky could work better as aggressive offender and something to switch off when the enemy team has those 40-50% thuder protected guys who target me.

And most of all i'm still lacking m3 hull. i thought hunter would be more ideal becouse of the stability and power, but after using wasp for a few months i've learned to value speed more and think viking could work too.

Do you think it's still a good kit after the rebalance?

I would go for it. Very versatile turret (treat it like Twins for max damage at distance) and the hull has been "juiced up" for speed without the help of supplies. I don't have a Paladin Kit, but I do have equivalent of a "stock" Paladin (Smoky/Viking M2s at 50/50). But if you can handle a Wasp, I think you would like how much Smoky annoys the enemy. I hate getting hit by Smoky - no traces.

I have 230k crystals, what should I buy, a good protection module or an alteration? I don't need anything else since I have Smoky and Viking M2( aswell as some other good M2 stuff)

Don't go with alterations yet until they have released all of them. Rank up to Lt. General because then all the M3 kits unlock for you. You are about 200,000 xp away from that.

Raiden is a solid kit. It's hard to go wrong with Viking-Thunder, and it's useful for most maps and a wide variety of situations. It's not a close range fighter by any means, but you can play aggressively and midfield with it. The module is quite handy too, protecting from Twins, Thunder, and Railgun. Emerald looks good too, I guess.

Turtle is about as versatile as a tank gets. Hunter-Smoky is incredibly flexible, capable of engaging targets up close and from a distance. It's a universal tank that can serve in many roles and deal with most threats effectively with good maneuvering, use of cover, and positioning- fight Thunders, Railguns, and Shafts up close, and engage others at a distance. The module is similar to that of Raiden's, swapping out Twins protection for Ricochet protection. Overall, compared to Raiden, it's not as powerful from a distance or as useful for crowd control (something that you'll want in Polygon CPs), but you will rarely come up empty handed when the situation changes.

Maestro is a force to be reckoned with in close quarters, but it's tricky to use due to Ricochet's projectile speed + limited energy and Dictator's somewhat odd handling. Once you get accustomed to it, it becomes a great combo for defense and midfielding. Useful on small and medium maps, and a godsend on maps where you can take advantage of the ricochet effect, like Noise. The module is a personal favorite of mine, protecting from Thunder, Railgun, and Shaft similarly to the old Prodigi or Picasso modules. These are turrets that are common (well, maybe except Shaft) and are hard to avoid (infinite projectile speed and consistent damage).

Other especially good medium hull kits include Paladin (similar to Turtle, but geared towards close range assault), Sniper (if you like Shaft, probably not "average" though), Refrigerator (Freeze is pretty OP right now), and Prometheus (indispensable on smaller maps for close range combat). If you just want something versatile and straightforwards, Paladin, Raiden, or Turtle will serve you well.

I'm bored of close ranges, I may like the Sniper kit. I found DM battles on large maps much funnier :)

Smoky v Thunder. Which is one is better? Please provide a specific situation where one would perform over the other.

Smoky is better for rate of fire and direct damage to one opponent. Thunder is better at crowd control and hitting opponents that you can't normally hit.

If you are using Smoky, aim at the side of a tank to throw off their aim when shooting. Thunder can do this, but it will not be as pronounced.

When there is a crowd of enemies, Thunder will definitely trump Smoky. Thunder will be able to hit most of them if not all, while Smoky will only hit one.

If there is an opponent behind a wall that you can't hit, what will you do? Most people will just aim for another opponent. Seems like a normal answer. BUT, if there is a wall that you can hit that will be in make Thunder's splash hit the opponent, what will you do? HIT THE WALL. If you are lucky, there will be opponent to hit instead of a wall that will make you hit the person behind a wall. Smoky cannot do this.

Overall, as a Thunder user myself, I feel that Thunder is a more versatile weapon that can perform well on almost any map. I ain't hating on Smoky though. Smoky is still a great weapon, but Thunder, in my opinion, is the better weapon.

Have you ever noticed that Thunder makes smoke when hitting someone, and a critical hit from Smoky makes thunder? That really bothers me :P

Thunder. Hands down.

Scenario 1

Your enemy is at 100m distance from you. Thunder kills. Faster.

Scenario 2

Your enemy has an isida helping him at close range. Thunder splash damages both.

Scenario 3

Your enemy is hidden behind an obstruction. Thunder can splash the ground/wall nearby.

Scenario 4

Your enemy has 35% smoky + 35%thunder protection. Thunder still does more damage and kills faster with less shots.

Scenario 5

Yes.

Scen. 1: 50% Thunder protection.

Scen. 2: Against a Wasp. Smoky wins.

Scen. 3: Smoky gets (is this possible) 2 crits in a row.

To be fair though, smoky fires faster and (certainly at m2) has a higher impact force.

At what cost though? More shots just means more time and effort aiming. Neither does it guarantee accuracy. Thunder has a radial effect - accuracy flies out the window.

If the shot doesnt hit the tank its not going to explode in mid-air, 90% of the time the tank isnt right next to a wall so you still need to aim.
