What to buy? Which is better?

I hav seem real skilled smoky users, as smoky has high impact force its kinda annoying and difficult to counter them i hav also seen titan/twins combo and with drugs this combo is like tornado and nobody will try to pass close to it.

Imo

Smoky-require skills to master(like knocking off aim) and will make battles more interesting.

Twins-just place a brick on spacebar and enjoy the battlefield.

In fact i m still comfused but till now i m more concerned about smoky

First of all I played with both Smoky m3 and Twins m3.

Both turrents are equally good.

It completely depends on map and game mode which turrent to use.

In CP mode Twins is definitely better.

At high ranks about 50% players use twins protection ranging from 30-50% and about 25% use smoky protection.

That is sooooo true !!!

Bricks scratch the table; Twins-Pros use sticky tape.

:D :P

Anyways which of these two have lesser players wearing the protection?

Maybe this will help

If you look at the modules available to buy, smoky is the turret with max protections offered against it - link. Also, smoky protection is a little OP (more bang for buck). Whether you have 10% or 50% protection from twins, you're still going to die faster to twins fire than to smoky (no drugs scenario).

Here's a chart by @Tani_S showing what I mean -

Check #13 Number of Shots against Unprotected vs Protected Hulls.

I like to assault camping is not my thing

Play polygon cp alot and mid/large map ctf

Buy Vulcan. Best weapon for Poly CP. Also good at defending and midfield in CTF games.

thats because there is higher frequency of high ranked lgc modules having protection against twins as compared to smoky

Using twins 10 sec is all we need to kill a 45% protected heavy hull.. Wow.

Yeah, I complain against flat protection percentages levied under the same pricing. It should ideally affect the pricing of the turrets. I'm not sure if the devs just missed this point completely or they've left it there for a reason (to complicate stuff? Can't see any other anyway).

Totally agree because a same protection percentage for a turret will be less effective while for other it can make huge difference

For eg - twins 45% changes ttk for heavy from 5.5 to 10.1(differene 4.6 sec)

But for smoky at 45% it changes from 10.5 to 18 (difference 7.5 sec)

Which is why the old method of micro-upgrading was waaaaay better. You could pay for what you need (like extra twins protection) instead of an even split on twins/smoky/whaterver.

It's because of the range and the non-existing possibilty of peek-a-boo and the rather slow moving projectiles. Twins users have to expose themselfes directly and they have to _stay_ close in order to deal serious damage. And you may miss 10..15% of your projectiles - so reduce the damage accordingly.

Therefore Twins is given such a high DPM.

Twins is not the solution for every problem. Just for CP :P

but it was cheaper too complex, and got therefore replaced by something more expensive more easy to use

From what I see on your profile, you love railgun and its pretty good too, further more, after getting that you will be able to play xp battles which will:

1.give you lots of crystals

2.earn experience very faster

3. Most important one: improve your skills and make you pro.

I play xp all time when I'm online,it's full of fun

Good luck

buy nothing and save for M3s - you have enough M2s.

the only M2 that would maybe make sense, is a Railgun, as it opens you up the doors to XP/BP - but only if you like it.

but after the update there is a while until m3s unlock beside i need the game to be a little more fun with changing the play style every while and i am going to save up maybe 2-3 ranks more for m3 kit and yeah i like playing xp Edited by boomber_01
