Get one M2 kit that you feel would be fun/flexible. This should carry you to M3s.

 

If you are worried about crystals play mostly to complete missions (and do the free switch if too many supply missions).

And it's ok to not complete a mission if you feel the reward (mediocre supply amount) is not worth the time/experince gained.

I guess since they've raised the ranks for M3s (and many of their corresponding kits) it gives more time to save for the M3.

Okay guys so I got predator kit for $14.99, I still hate myself for not buying it during the holiday sales but it's too late now. Anyhow it's an awesome kit, completely dominates M0s without drugs (I plan on buying $19.99 1,500 Supplies kit to go against the M2 Druggers that are becoming more common even at my low rank), and goes well against M1-M2 folks that start popping out. I also have the M1 Vulcan, Shaft, Freeze, and Smoky, 3 of them long-range guns and the freeze which I got from the CUPID kit back in the Black friday sales ($4.89 kit got me through to WO2, I should've bought Harvester or something but Cupid was worth the most for the price- nearly 100,000 Crystals).

 

So I've got to lay out a path for my career after the predator kit becomes Underpowered. I'm thinking about a few:

• Firewall/Firebolt- Firebird M2 is supposed to be absolutely beast at low ranks, nearly 200 DPS increase over the M1. But I'm not a fan of the Melee elementals (Isida, Freeze, Firebird). Hunter M2 is worse than Viking M2, but the Wasp M2 has more HP than the Hornet M2 which really surprises me. But I absolutely despise light hulls.
• Minotaur/Ram- Twins M2 is also supposed to be nice, but it doesn't really have all that big difference from M1. Still people say the MINO is beast. I think ram is cheaper though.
• Northerner- Smoky M2 has the biggest boost of all the M2 turrets from M1, and it's pretty beast the way I see it. Insane power upgrade and great RPM... Smoky M1 was the only turret I bought without a discount and I'm still not regretting it, 11,000 Crystals for a high RPM, high impact turret that absolutely destroys Light hulls and can handle Heavies and mediums with relative ease. Can't imagine how the M2 is, but $35.99 is a bit steep (like the other kits)
• Anaconda/Simoom/Boar- So many DICTATOR M2s for the low rank buyers. Honestly I like all the turrets in those kits- Vulcan, Thunder, and Ricochet- but dictator I absolutely hate, it's so unstable, slow, and the armor is pathetic for a tank that drives like a heavy. And vulcan got nerfed to hell- M2 is the old M1- so there's that. 
• Pitbull/Annihilator- Insanely expensive, but the turrets-hull combinations are the best they get. And when the February sales come along (Iron/Valentine days) I think I can get one of 'em on a discount. 

So what's it gonna be guys? It's still a long time until I get there, but I'd like something to work towards. BTW I'm never going to get to 200,000 Crystals to those ranks (I have 10,000 right now ROFL, won't even buy PRO pass) so I'm going to have to use real $$ to get those kits, so I want to make an educated decision here.

Welcome to mid-ranks! This won't be easy. But, since you are a buyer, you can enjoy it! (if you are a good player too :) ) Your main target is to reach m3 ranks as fast as possible. You have the best m1 kit that exists in Tanki.

The best plan for you is to buy an early, but good m2 kit and then 1-2 late-unlocking OP kits.

 

My plan for you:

 

1. Buy Fireworks kit at third lieutenant. One of the best m2 kits and SUPER OP with drugs.

2. Buy Northerner kit at captain. You can have Viking-Hammer + Viking-Smoky and destroy everything with your supplies.

3. You can either buy a third m2 kit of your choise OR MicroUpgrade your smoky/hammer. (if you can afford it) Don't forget that you will have to replace your drugs, so you must save $$+crystals too for them.

I just bought atlas yesterday check my account and it is awesome.Even at my rank smokey continues to destroy any hull.My first polygon CP battle i had 29 deaths and 178 kills!And my reward in it was 2k without premium.Smokey is quite good and id say wait and buy northerner. :)

Yeah I can believe that. I think I am going to wait a rank to buy Northerner after all. I think that you can use just about anything on Viking, so that will be fun to mount my Freeze M2 on as well. Northerner it is! Sigh, I have a lot of exp to gain though. Just curious, did you drug a lot? I am assuming you did, to get 178-29. I don't really have a lot of supplies because I don't have the crystals to buy them, but I think that I will be able to do fine anyway. Everyone is still running around with an M1 hull at my rank, so to have Smoky M2 at Captain would just be OP.

I would definitely say to go for Northerner. Is it available in your Shop to buy right now with $$? Idk. If not, then you will have to wait a while to get to its unlock rank, which is Captain, and with the Equipment you've got now, I don't think you have to worry about any of your stuff becoming underpowered for a while. I made it to my rank using Wasp Firebird M1, and only got my Freeze M2 during the Holiday Sale, so you will be fine. Once you get to around my rank, then you will start seeing a lot of M2's and you will need to get an M2 of your own. As for your other choices, I saw a guy using the Firebolt kit, and he had like a 84-6 D/L, so yes, Fire M2 is a beast., and one of the Fire kits would not disappoint you As for the Twins kits, Twins has always bored me, even though I have played a lot with Twins M1, there is no real strategy to it. You just run at people while holding down the space bar. So those would not be my first choice. Boar could do well for you, and Anaconda is ok. I look at Simoom as the poor man's Annihilator, because Viking is better than Dict, IMO. Pitbull or Annihilator would be a good choice for you, and I would go for Northerner in the long run.

Northerner is definitely a good kit.

 

However, I would be compeltely shocked if you could buy the Kit in Shop before unlock rank of Captain. Chevy Chase in X-mas Vacation shocked...

At your rank, the only word that should be in your mind is "M2s". Forget m1s and save for an m2 kit.

So basically, my opinion is that you should buy one more M1 hull, preferably Hornet, then go on to save for an M2 kit like Vesuvius or Pitbull.

- Don't buy any Firebird kit UNLESS you buy the M2 alteration for it, otherwise it will be very weak.

 

 

- I'd say Northerner / Atlas / Or Annihilator Kits would be the best. Their combination work perfectly together. The only thing is Thunder M2 might become weak by the time Brig comes around as lots of people will have Thunder protection paints.

 

The best 3 M2 kits IMO would be;

 

-Fireworks

-Annihilator

-Atlas

 

With them 3 kits you will have OP turrets with a good versatility of hulls.

I have and the firing rate of the M0 and M1 is terrible. Only the M3 and M4 have good firing rate and then they have sh*tty damage compared to Vulcan M4 and Thunder M4

Ok, so this is my highest ranked account but here's my plan for kits and things.

 

I have Matrix, so I'm set till at least 2nd Lieutenant hopefully, but anyways

 

• First kit will be Annihilator, keeping with the trend of Viking/Thunder
• Next kit will most likely be Chiropractor, to allow me to keep my Shaft up to date
• Third kit will be Raiden, at M3. The rank this kit unlocks at, I will hopefully have the crys to purchase it.
• On the side M3 kits will most likely be Sniper and Legend, as buying these kits will allow me to form makeshift Man'o'War, Centaur, and Rockshaper kits (If I had the Raiden kit at that point), 3 other kits that I would love to have.

That being out on the table, those final 3 M3 kits are going to be expensive. However, I need a little advice. Of the 6 kits above, which 3 are the cheapest that can be interchanged to make more makeshift kits. This is vital because I don't want to spend any more crystals than is necessary. If anyone could tell me, that would be great. Remember, the 6 makeshift M3 kits I want are Sniper, Centaur, Man'o'War, Rockshaper, Legend, and Raiden. Thanks!

True. Firebird was nerfed badly on this update. It is not the beast it once was.  With an M2 50/50 I was able to take on groups of 3 to 4 tanks before getting killed. Best was taking on 9 but was only able to destroy 5 since I was under heavy firepower. Now you can't kill that much because they got rid of its penetration completely.

I have and the firing rate of the M0 and M1 is terrible. Only the M3 and M4 have good firing rate and then they have sh*tty damage compared to Vulcan M4 and Thunder M4
