Recommended Posts

Im Colonel, and i have 8 M2s, and 300k crys, what should i buy on sales? I should MU to M3? Wait for an M3 kit? Or buy more M2s?

get alterations, your top 3 most used m2s all happen to have excellent alterations. get high calibre for railgun, both for firebird and the m2 alteration for smoky.

Id second high calibre for rail, and the fire alterations, but the smoky m2 alt just isnt worth it.

If you want something that packs more of a punch per hit with a longer reload, go for thunder because when putting the m2 alt on smoky it reduces the dps and the quick shooting rhythm of the turret imo. The m2 alt is only useful in long range situations compared to the stock smoky.

The m1 smoky alt is great tho, go to the "Lets Discuss Smoky" topic and LittleWillie can give you his own personal lecture on why the m1 alt is so good. Youve got to be pretty good at hitting corners and knocking off aim to fully utilise the m1 alt tho, as getting rid of crits is a pretty big sacrifice, and its a big part of the surprise factor of smoky.

@Hate but you must realize that this also means if someone gets in your face you are doomed. Its kind of like how you can get doubles with twins but it almosy never happens and makes twins useless. Maybe rico is different I don’t know. But it is not worth 100k.

Totally agree with you, sometimes I don't shoot when I'm low on health, simply I wait till they finish me as I don't want to self-destruct but the range you take self-damage is soooo small that even the slightest distance is enough and yes, Rico's splash one is different from Twin's one, with rico is is not same as Thunder but definitely much better than the Twins one and easy double or multi kills. Of course never pay 100k for it, 50k for the win in any sale, same for any other alterations, I wait sales and then buy them.

You say that the range of splash is small. So does that mean that the splash damage is almost as irrelevant as twins? Because the twins splash range is small but that is still a problem because we know. So the splash damage range is good but the self damage range is small????

I don't know why but with Rico, when it comes to you doing self-damage to yourself, it is very small, the range is just way tooo small but when it comes to dealing splash damage to multiple targets, it is not same as Twins but on a different level, range is just awesome. Not same as Thunder but definitely MUCH better than Twins.

Also, if you flip on your side, rico will get you back up on most hulls; twins won't

Is Fighter kit good? Is it effective at high ranks? The protection included would be perfect for me. I may buy it on an alt.

Edit: What about Striker kit?

i think twins is bs at m1. yes, twins is effective at high ranks so buy it later at m3 on a good sale. don't waste time and crystald upgrading it to m4 all the way from m1.

What is the best kit for m1

depends on your play style. How long you wanna play with the kit. I am playing with savage kit for 4 ranks or something and I can still be the boss in a game and thr kit wasn't expensive. I decided not to buy another kit so i can save up for m2 kit.

Guys, I'm stuck between Maestro kit and Paladin kit. Dunno which one to buy. Paladin in good, but smokey got bad alterations, ricochet has decent ones, Dictator is good for golds but viking isn't but in my opinion paladin is stronger. Help please.

Maestro Kit or Paladin Kit?

I vote maestro. paladin's module is probably only good for noise and the paint doesn't camouflage anywhere.

and a bright green painting does? inferno is a beautiful paint, and you get some bragging rights with the fact that it now costs 440k lol.

About the module, it was one of the main reasons i bought the kit myself. The close range protection helps tremendously in all close range maps, not just noise. The freeze effect is almost unnoticeable with 40% protection and firebirds are just scrap metal to my twins.

About the kits themselves, it depends on this - are you buying the kit for a full package, or to put other stuff on top. Now, all of the components in the paladin kit are good - smoky is a decent turret although imo at m3 rico is better, viking is a great medium hull, my personal favourite out of the 3 ;inferno is a beautiful paint and Badger T-F is an amazing close range module.

But the reason I bought the paladin kit was to put these components with others not included in the kit. Smoky gets used with my titan, the viking gets used everywhere, the paint is lovely and the module is used with twins and viking/titan in close range maps. I never use Smoky-Viking-Badger T-F as an equipment set, even when i first got the kit i used my prodigi lcg as my module with viking-smoky.

My last point, paladin is about 120k cheaper than maestro, that can get you a free m3 turret/hull/module on a sale, keep that in mind. for example, even if you dont like the module or smoky, the saved crystals from not getting maestro can get you a more favourable replacement.

If you want more of a full package, get maestro, if you want components to set you up in the long term, get paladin.

edit: damn that was long. with a bit of editing and formatting, should be an awc article lol - Paladin vs Maestro : kit review.

well you usually only need prortection from either fire or freeze, rarely both at a time because their effects cancel each other out. and yes, the green does help you camouflags in some places, not all but some. inferno doesn't camouflage anywhere.

I have twins m1. I also have the alt. It sucks so much. Rico is so much better. Don't be like me. Wait until twins m2 unlocks. At this point I will buy twins m2 later on just so the 50k on the alt was not a waste.

Every one tells me that Twins M1 sucks, I'll remember that. I tried Ricochet but didn't adapt to its gameplay, aiming is pretty difficult for me.

Should I wait till Marshall to buy M3's or buy an M3 kit. If so, which (I want one with Viking)

raiden is best in my opinion. You can use the module anywhere, thunder for self damage and twins and rail are everywhere

I'm kind of torn between Raiden, Paladin and Master of the Taiga. Thunder, Smoky and Twins are all good. Thunder is good and the module is too. Paladin's module is not too useful but smoky is also good and master of the taiga is OP but it's quite expensive.

if you have a clan or a group of friends you aways play with, half of the group get jackhammer and get the m1 alteration and the other half get raiden. Those with raiden equip another turret(preferably magnum) at the start of the battle first and let those jackhammers attack, raidens change to thunder after the enemies change to hammer or magnum(or both) protection.

The fact that no garage module protects from both thunder and magnum or thunder and hammer is vey fun to exploit. yes, most people have thunder protection, that means that they are used to being protected from thunder and are not prepared to face thubders after removing their protection.

people might not have as many protections from smoky but they can always have a module that protects from smoky and any other turret except magnum. for twins they can be protected from any other turret on top of twins protection.
