For the last time; Annihilator or Simoom? I have 7 days of premium left, and I'm quite sure I can get halfway to First Lieutenant, so rank isn't an issue. I want a hard answer, not "Your choice".

I choose Simoom. It is really good for gold. 

Annihilator is good for impressing chicks. lollll it has good looking style.

Currently have isida chilling at m2.8. I have the crystals to finish it, but was saving for a MU sale. Viking is at m2, ready for free upgrade the second I hit the right rank.

 

Should I get a second hull for high ranks (M3 via upgrades or a kit in a few ranks)? Hunter is pretty similar to viking in most respects, and dictator isn't my favorite hull... (New overdrives may necessitate change there). I don't want to use a light hull at m3 unless I get into parkour. Is it even worth getting a second hull? Or is viking m3-4 good at high ranks with isida?

 

This account was built around isida, obviously, but I hear at legend it's a really big disadvantage to have teammates who can't play other guns. Any weapon suggestions to get at m2 and work up to m3? Or save for m3 kits?

 

Finally, and most pressingly, suggestions for protection modules? Mine is severely outdated. Twins, rail, fire, and isida seem pretty common at high ranks. How about magnum and thunder? I'll probably get 2 modules at the next sale. What do you m2-4 players like/use/see most frequently?

Kits give you the advantage of buying multiple items for a big discount and to get the desired weapon of choice before the unlock rank which is very useful. But it depends on the kit you are going for, a sale is expected after the valentines/iron days but I'm not too sure. Give us more details abt which kit you are going to buy then we can talk.

Or save for m3 kits? [ Light hulls are pretty bad in the high ranks because medium hulls' speed is enough and hence its not worth sacriificng the extra hp for some extra speed, if you really want to go for another m2 hull then try out Titan, it pairs up nicely with Isida especially in ASL and CP mode and also works fine with most other turrets. Viking m3+Isida m3 is very good even in the high ranks and Isida's damage & healing is so high that it is not necessary to MU it to m4. And yes, it is really important to have a secondary turret in any rank, especially with a different range than your current one. Hence I would suggest you to look for a mid-long ranged turret like Ricochet, thunder or smoky. Buying one of these will make you good in almost all situations and you wont have the problem of dual protections in any case.]

The probablity of encountering a turret depends on the range of the map you're playing in and hence there is no such thing as "common turret" .Now, as you dont have any good module I suggest you to go for the Badger/Lion range of modules these have protections against the best weapons. Remeber, never buy modules with only 2 protections and instead go for their triple version.]

Get Simoom becuase u still have many ranks to save up for annihilator if u want. Simoom is great for golds too.

Minotaur, and northerner. Minotaur is one of the most OP'est kits in the m2 ranks. You will never regret your decision going for it.

Firebird m4 even with the protections. People usually have 40% protection against firebird or so but even then it's much better than freeze due to its afterburn. Freeze is mostly good for defence whereas firebird is useful in all fields. And the freeze alteration removes the freeze effect itself which renders it useless for defence and loses out again firebird easily.

You have way too less crystals for any good kit. Wait till WO1 or get 50k crystals fast enough. Therefore you have 2 choices: 1) It's not that hard ranking up in the low ranks, try to get to WO2 or WO3 before the sales and buy weapons in stock 2) Try for your luck and earn enough to buy a good kit tomorrow.

Awesome advice, thanks. Would you recommend waiting until m3 kits unlock for those and just stick with isida and viking until then? Which would make my plan over the next little bit look something like this:

• 1 m2 protection module at the next significant sale just so I'm not still running around with my complete garbage one (Likely later in February for iron days)
• Finish the MUs for isida at next significant MU/Speed up day (I'll actually do the math to make sure I'm saving crystals)
• When m2 viking unlocks, start MUing it to m3
• At m3 kit unlock rank, find a titan/med+ range gun kit with a decent protection module (Probably one with smoky or thunder since I like those on my alts. Thoughts on twins? I don't like rico/striker much, but I haven't looked at their alts or played with high modification levels of either. Planning to avoid rail, shaft, and magnum for a very long time.)

Thoughts on this sketch?

 

Which m3s are worth taking to m4 in your opinion? You said isida isn't really worth it, and I definitely noticed the difference on the test server was negligible. Barely noticeable. Hulls to m4? Protections seem like the biggest jump during MUs after m3, so I'll for sure start working on those when I get there.

Both a good turrets. 

If u going to get twins, just make sure u get the alt that removes splash. 

Both a good for atk and def.

Thunder, more versatile. Twins M1 isn't that great for its modification and the alt is kind of necessary.
