What to buy? Which is better?

Go for it! Yes, it is not a good turret for close range, but if you stand on the high grounds, and continuously shoot towards the point A, it will do a massive damage to everyone.

The problem is getting to a high point in the first place. Before you get there, you will be rekt by Smoky and short range turrets. And I don't normally camp too often, even as I play with Thunder M4 (Have to go to the point). Locking to target sucks because sometimes enemy will quickly move off (due to laser), which means most of the time I would be relying on single rockets. It seems difficult to hold the point with it too.Poly is a condensed area compared to larger maps.

The good part is: With M4, single rockets are faster..

If someone can do a comparison between this and Thunder would be good.

  • Striker is horrible.

  • If you buy Striker, you will lose around 195k which 45% of the EN Community did and regretted.

I prefer to buy M3 Hornet than Striker since it's a TOTAL waste.

Single Shot mode:

It more or less comes down to your aim.

Whithin 65m (M4:70m) rage both deal the same damage per shot - Thunder reload is longer, Stikers hit propability is lower.

I guess Thunder is more efficient by now; we have to wait how well Striker pilots skill up with their aim.

Between 65m..130m (M4 70...140) Thunders damage deacreases, until it reaches 50% at 130(140)meters. Strikers damage does not decrease. But it's kind of hard to hit an enemy at that distance with a single rocket, while it's easy going with Thunder. Thunders splash decreases too if the target is far away, while the rockets damage does not decrease.

Salve mode (lock on mode):

Here's the true power of Striker, especially as the damage is dealt within a short time and not decreased over range.

But it comes down to the map you play

If you manage to get into a position where you can make use of those a lot (slighty higher, so no other tank interferes your aim, ride heavy hull to not get disturbed) then you can deal a lots of damage. The DPM is great and does not decrease over range.

And of course this great capability is the reason, why lock-on may not be too easy (laser visible, lock-on time, other tanks block laser, your aim get's thrown off by enemy hits).

But given the fact that most maps provide a sufficient cover, and M3 players do make use of it, it's kind of hard to make use of this large devestation potentian. Even if you thing you can keep Serpuchovs center clean from incoming attackers.. the enemy rails will say "thank you" if you light u your laser beam and knock you off if they can ;)

I like the concept of Striker very much.. but I have not yet found a large enough number of usecases, that would make it worth to get the turret (sadly :P). So I'm hesitating to get one.. while I do think it has potential (or will soon have :.p)

But wouldn't a faster load turret usually is better (Striker vs Thunder) because you could put in another shot?

I usually play in medium maps so I'm not that sure its a gun for me because I rely 80% of single shot all of the time, and 20% on full barrage.

The new Smoky Alteration seems OP, but does it fare worse with longer reload?

Yes, but.. :p

It's not about the shots/damage you can fire/minute, it's more about the shots/damage that truely hit your target/minute ;)

And that's what one disadvantage of Striker is: you miss more. Sure you get better over time, but I doubt you will ever have the same hitrate as with a Thunder.

I don't know if you ever tried it out (you can start a new account, quickly level it to 500 xp (2 battles), and then you can buy the turret for 450 crystals). Give it a try and try to hit those slow moving M0 hulls across the range of the map crossing, sandbox or sandal. I wish you good luck in single shot mode :)

If you get 90..95% hitrate (like I assume you have with thunder) then go for striker.

I personally don't recommend striker at high ranks because players become pro enough to hide behind a shelter for a sec to disturb the aim.

I hav faced 2-3 m3 striker users today all were suffering.

Because the time it takes to lock on is enough to get killed by a dd thunder or smoky maybe the user will survive using heavy hulls but these hulls restrict mobility too

i got a 97% hit rate with it 2 days ago on my noob account (also a D/L of 15-18 . That mean im pro?

its more of a Camping turret. Almost like a slightly shorter ranged shaft with more mobility in trade of a timny bit of range . I cuz i know that a equal modification of Striker with a lock on and kill a equal modification Medium hull. And with DD (as with shaft) it can kill anything with a "full charge/lock on"

you did not talk about lock-on mode, did you?

97% mean you only miss 3 rockets of 100 in arcade mode? Well if you do that, then you are a pro.

true but the diffrence is that striker is more open ground turret something like desert or stadium, having faster reload and firing rate and beside the fact that sometimes its better to shoot 3 rockets every1 by itself rather than a full salvo.

its basically the winner in face-to-face medium/long range weapons

it was mostly with Lock On .Only a few "arcade mode" shots when I knew I wouldn't have time to lock

Should i get my viking 20/50 and smoky 30/50 or vice versa? Both are currently 0/50, my thunder is already 30/50, but i want to get to use my smoky too and feel a bit of that offence action.

Also, any thoughts on the smokys m1 alteration? i'd love to have some extra punch on it and it's a pretty cheap one.

On the alt, I'm finding it quite hard to hit. Maybe I'm a noob at it, but the rockets seems to go out of haywire at times. It misses targets easily. On larger maps, it's average. Even Rail does a better job at it. The striker is terrible against short range weapons such as fire and freeze. -_-

I really don't know if M4 will change a thing at higher levels.

Either I go for M4 this or.. spend it on module against striker +  other alterations: Hammer (More pellets), Freeze (Better damage), Thunder (The one with reduced reload + lesser damage), Fire (Better reach).

The M1 and M2 alterations combined will make your thunder be more like smoky.

Nah, not enough dps or reload to be smoky. And having 2 different turrets is essencial to survive in battles with alot of resistance modules.

Here is how you can find out:

Cost of Thunder at sales = Cost of thunder not at sales * 50 / 100

Cost of Thunder with sales and kit discount = Cost of thunder at sales * discount at kit / 50

Cost of kit = Cost of Thunder with sales and kit discount + cost of hull with kit discount + cost of paint without kit discount + cost of module with kit discount
