What to buy? Which is better?

I'm thinking of buying a new combo. i usually play with Viking and Thunder/Hammer/Smoky but i'd like to have more options, because I often have difficulties when facing skilled Ricochets and Twins, so what would you reccomend? Which combo (hull + turret) would be better to face these 2 threats?

As a Ricochet user, I find Hammers and Firebirds the most annoying turrets to face. So I would recommend Firebird+Viking for you, and make sure you have the Compact Tanks alteration. An alternative option would be to get Smoky+Mammoth. While Ricochet does have a high damage per second (weakness of heavy hulls), to kill a Mammoth of the same modification in one clip, all of the Ricochet shots must hit their target. Smoky is a good choice to knock off your opponents aim for at least 1-2 shots.

Guys whatever you do just don't buy the Magnum. I literally don't know how to use it with mouse; it works with "z" and "x" keys with keyboard but it's just such a bad gun. I have M1 and it can't even reliably one-hit kill M0 light hulls. Direct hit should be 1,000+ damage but I was dealing around 900 it's just complete BS. 

 

Striker against heavy hulls is pretty decent though. I prefer it to Thunder against heavy hulls, but the rockets travel a lot slower when you're using it than when you're facing off against it. But Magnum is unforgivably bad.

Smoky, no contest. Thunder is one of the weaker M2s, you need to MU it for it to be effective after Major.

I would say thunder m2 because smoky m2 unlocks too late, and you will need m2 medium-long range weapon earlier

I think it would be better to wait for Smoky, and to try and not play in large maps. Thunder M2 really does become weak very quickly (I learned this from experience).

All magnums typically always finish at the bottom of the score table.

Never seen a matchwinning magnum till now (in high ranks).

 

They are usually just a burden on their team.

 

They work decently on noise ctf, but I would say this is the worst turret in the garage right now.

Buy thunder m2, dictator m2 in june sale.

You can replace dictator by hunter if you want.

Don't buy any more m1s, and dont MU them.

 

You will need about 70k more though.

Complete the mission chains, and try to get those crystals.

 

Do not buy m2 kits, I always say it is easier to rank up and buy stuff in sales.

ah but in small maps there are more druggers, and they dominate the battle easily, since it is hard to hide from them.

No doubt smoky m2 is better, but for me the wait was too long, I couldn't play until Colonel with m1's.

 

Anyways, I bought rail m2 not thunder m2, but thunder m2 can be used on more maps, so I recommend it.

Thunder will dominate games untill you start facing m2-m3 players, eventually you will have a hard time using thunder then. It becomes very weak after that, a wise choice will be buying smoky m2 although it unlocks late. Firebird m2 is a good choice at that rank too

Atlas kit is great, I bought it at Major and it did a great job, used it until Lieutenant General rank (3 golden stars) then got Paladin (m3 smoky and viking m3).

Well as for Titan, I used to play maps like Polygon, Arena, Noise it worked really fine in these.

If you play in long ranged maps, you will have a little hard time in moving fast.

like I said. It depends on you're skill with it. I've got a magnum dedicated alt and I usually finish in top 3 in every Battle

In low ranks, you can finish first with only one half of twins turret working.

In high ranks even m1 shaft is better than m2 magnum.

At my ranks magnum players does a great job.  As mustang said you must have a good practice with it to use it and of course dont expect a magnum player to go to the other base and grab the flag. It helps to shoot from long ranges
