It depends on the turret. For some reason I can't play Magnum with Viking or Dictator (I have all medium hull M1s accidentally on @HBTY2) but I love it with Hunter. I also can't play Twins with Hunter butI can with Viking, and Dictator with Twins is borderline. If I had to choose between Shaft and the hulls, it would be Hunter waaaay in front, then Dictator slightly in front of Viking. So yeah, I'm confusing :)

On a serious note, except perhaps for the 10th birthday I doubt you're gonna be seeing any 50% offs anytime soon. Ask @Tidebreaker for first-hand experience, but I believe that with recent nerfs to R-F alt you'll be better with S-b E's.

 

Obviously, don't take it from me because ranks make it different, but I would recommend the first option but get Vandal kit instead of Master of the Taiga. Right now, in my ranks, Hunter is much better. Maybe ODs will get nerfed/buffed but right now Hunter has a more powerful OD and better overall gameplay. Then, buy Centaur but skip the R-F alt and use the Short-band Emitters, which you probably already have. That saves you the crystals. 

 

Anyways, that's just my quick opinion.

Hunter is ugly? Ha, look at Viking M2. You call this a killing machine? I say it looks more like a toy. Having less than 50% of the tank covered with metal plates really makes it look like M1. Its XT looks trash too. Don't try to bring in the overdrive argument, too, because all it takes is my faster-charging EMP to annihilate you multiple times.

 

And I'd much rather die than admit Viking is better.

Short-bands lately provide even better value. Thanks to the RFM nerf, they're now more viable to secure those kills.

Firebird are strong only if you micro-upgrade it to M2.

 

Incendiary Mix, it's darn powerful if you buy it (too bad you have to be Major General or above).

No. Save up for Chiropractor and Short-band emitters, and you will destroy. It's the best M2 kit on the market, hands down. Hunter has the best OD, and besides, with that (ehm, @Nicola_M) tinfoil tank Hornet M2 and railgun, which happens to be possibly the stupidest combo in TO for MM, skill doesn't matter. At least, with skill you could get first and could get last because TO is random (kudos to @OKDad70 for this idea) and without skill you are absolutely worthless. So yeah.

 

Any other reasons he should get Chiropractor, @Tidebreaker?

If you have m2 Rail and enjoy it - just keep upgrading it. 

You will have much longer benefit from the MUs versus two early unlock ranks for the kits at m3.

 

Target an m3 kit for one of your weak turrets or one you don't have but want later.

Hell yes. This means that people won't be exploiting Viking now, and Shaft will be able to one-shot any medium hull that isn't M4, and any hull with HC. We got some good times ahead.

I have no Containers and have 8 Weekly Containers.

 

I had 45,000.00 crystals and on April Fools Day sales I listened to what HBTY had told me and bought Shaft M1 and Short Band Alteration. I went ahead and also bought a Drone on my own opinion. All 3 of them were BIG mistakes. At first I thought that it was my inexperience in Shaft that was making me suck to use it, so I went and practiced with Shaft on my friends account ( M1 Shaft at First Sergeant). Result was that I still did suck. 

 

Now here's the real deal. I have now figured how to fix this account. One way is to buy Ram Kit and MU my Viking to M2. Two, go for Raider Kit and don't MU viking for now. As of now I have roughly 11k crystals. I will be collecting slowly for almost 2 years ( Yes, TWO YEARS. I also have school and Anime). After 2 years I will be able to go full play. So I plan to do only missions till then.

 

Now all you have to answer is which route shall I choose. The one with Ram innit or the Raider one. 

 

Any help is appreciated. 

 

 

 

 

 

Also I do not mean to insult you HBTY. Shaft is a great turret. But every player has a different playing style and Shaft just doesn't suit me. Hope you forgive me if I hurt you  :P   :)

Forget about drones, they are no good for F2P unless they are 20/20 AND have bunch of battery stocked with you.

 

No kits plz. Only stich with upgrading your M1 Viking.

 

The 1st moment when I use Shaft, I was inexperienced like you. Stick to your M1 Shaft. I recommended fire arcade shot and then sniper to avoid someone to pop a RK. You will learn to use it skillfully eventually.

 

Firebird is bad if you do not micro-upgrade it. Thing is, Fox module is your obstacle.
