What to buy? Which is better?

But it's always good to explore your options if you haven't tried Medium/Heavy hulls yet. Just don't waste your crystals trying them out.

First, try them out as M0's. And only try them out at M1/M2/M3 at Test servers.

Smoky, I really want because of critical hit, impact etc. But then I'm not sure if it will be suitable for a long ranged weapon.

Thunder, is quite fun to use but sometimes it disappoints. Thunders range has been improved, so that's one good thing. I prefer Railgun over it.

Btw I have Rail and Thunder M2, and I always use Rail while Thunder stays there unused

I don't really play DM much as I only have Hornet M2 as m2 hull. Although I was planning on getting a heavy hull like Titan M2 for DMs. So I could try out Thunder/Titan. Edited April 25, 2014 by Endurance

Smoky is good but not in long range anymore, it's like medium range. Twins for me are expensive and I got them M0 and rico unlocks at commander - too late for me. Between thunder and smoky what would you recommend with Viking or hornet M3.

 

ps. I have rustle which is an advantage when using thunder; self-damage will be less.

WASP FOREVA!!!! WASP FTW!. But on a more serious note, it depends. I honestly would say wasp because of the reloading. You should move around a lot and get into small places. Hornet can be too big sometimes. Freeze is more for hornet I would say. Like mentioned above, you'll need some rail protections (unless you a MU freak). I use wasp fire and tundra a lot. Pretty good. Can't see myself in a hornet. If you don't want rail protection or don't have it and not willing to get it, get hornet. It's easier to use, cheaper and unlocks earlier- generally.. (Not to mention boring). Wasp is faster and unstable I guess. (I don't really flip with it. I got dem moves like Jagger.) It depends on the amount of crystals you have and your skill level. But at the WO ranks, maybe hornet because of the health and M1 rails. But wasp if you have the protection and skill yet again. More dets in the question and we'll be able to answer you more explicitly

I have my Wasp equipped with Tundra MUed, (which I think is cheaper than Digital, 3 MUes only around 2k each will get you to around 35%, IMO the smoky protection doesn't really help that much anyways). Nice to see ya btw :D I caught up to your rank already  :lol:

@TigerofMalaysia: You're a Lieutenant Colonel, and Inferno would still be quite some time away. It depends.

If you're fine as of right now, and don't need any significant upgrade in protection, then strive for the Inferno paint.

If you really can't wait and NEED a paint upgrade, then I'd say buy a paint that would fit your needs and future needs until Inferno is obtainable.

 

Though I'd say go for Inferno. :P

 

(edit) Though I have to ask, Freeze's freeze-time is shorter now. Do  you still need Inferno paint? Or are you going to choose another paint? Emerald? Urban? Spark? :P

Ah I see. :D

However, I do not like to MU things until they are at the final stage. . .I absolutely will not MU an item until it is at M3, and I will definitely not MU my paint until I get something like Emerald, Inferno, or something like that. Before this re-balance, the Smoky protection mattered, but now I'm not sure since Critical is changed and things like that. :P

Though I guess you can still get Inferno because of Freeze's stronger Damage now. . ..  but now there are new threats like Ricochet going around. O_O

rico m2 is now really strong and so is firebird, inferno would be a nice choice too. the only problem is that mammy doesn't go to well with ricochet. I would suggest heavy m2

Ok guys my situation.

 

I have 35 000 crystals. I want to buy m1 rail, m1 thunder, m1 hornet. Other things are so so to me like Isida and shaft. What to buy? Should I wait for discount (I am not very patient).

 

Things in garage: m1: Viking freeze and mammoth. Everything else m0

 

Ps. Should I buy a paint(like tundra)
