I got both of those at one point, although my rico is now m2, I did use both m1 many times. Honestly, I enjoyed rico much more. Twins was very repetitive, therefore being annoying to others, and also being fun. But I liked the strategy of rico more, the way you can bounce the projectiles, and shoot farther distances. Maps wise, small maps are better for twins, in most cases, because of the range. While I reccomend rico for bigger maps. But each can be effective in most maps. Good luck choosing!

My M1s are Hornet, Viking, Titan, Mammoth, Firebird, Freeze, Isida, Smoky and Railgun

I mostly play in medium maps...... occasionally large ones like Serpuhov or small ones like Sandbox

Hm, seems to me you have plenty of m1s, and your rank is entering the m2s zone.

However you do have plenty of crystals as well. If you wish to give thunder a try, for perhaps upgrading to m2 later on, go ahead. Either way, you have a great amount for a head start on m2s. Start thinking ahead for the next sales, and what you are planning to get.

Anytime! Well, not specifically upgrading thunder to m2. I said that you should get m1 if you want, and since you have a good amount of crystals you should start going for m2s generally. Of course you could end up loving thunder and going for it m2 soon buf i'm not reccomending it.

Colonel, and therefore will have to wait for another sale? So, firstly, this would mean I would not get much besides maybe some sort of pass or something cheap at new years. Otherwise I could get Firebird m2 at that sale, if we have one. Continuing with the Smoky path, depending how far the next sale is, I would probably have over enough crystals for a good sale on it, so it could be a head start on m3s. This leads onto another alternative, I just drop everything and save for m3s, even if they are a long way away. I'm open to ideas. It's just to think ahead, because my decisions may change with time. you SHOULD save up for M1 hornet. and the other things of higher M or better paints.

micro-upgrading weaker hull makes almost nothing in a long run.

IMO M2 Railgun is a lot better then M2 Thunder when accounting for M2 Hornet. M2 Thunder can damage your M2 Hornet easily, so it can be a huge problem for you.

Thank you also. I am not a very patient person so if theres a sale I go and grab a lot of items otherwise waiting 2-3 days is like a month to me so I dont really like to wait. But crystals is not a problem for me so I might get both Rail and Thunder M2. When I was a noob I loved Thunder.

I would still advice the Smoky M2. Early obtainable "big" bang for the buck! Consider it myself at least a M2.5

Also I believe it will last longer than the Firebird M2: if I 'm wrong than I hope someone will correct me on this.

(always: if you are certain about the Firebird M2 and there is a good sale: go for it)

 

Ranking straight to M3 's good be quite hard. You need to earn more crystals and what M3 do you want?

Considering your only hull is the Hornet M2 (M3)

 

Brigadier: Thunder M3. Good on Hornet, but because of the self-damage I prefer a bit more HP.

So I rather have Thunder in combination with one of the medium hulls. (Viking being my own favourite with Thunder: no doubt)

It 's in my view a lot easier to be effective with the Thunder with a medium tank.

Also on Brigadier: Isida M3. I agree with Goldrock in his "what to mount on..." series, that it is better on a

Wasp or Hunter. The Hornet 's drift is really an issue IMO with this close-ranger.

 

MJ General: Freeze M3. Made for the Hornet IMO! Drifting is not/less an issue, because you can already stop them in their

tracks ofcourse, and the only ones that (without N20) can run away from you are Wasps, and Hornets at least have a chance

to get away. Especially in combination with the Hornet M3/M4 you 'll have a very decent combo. Not OP in anyway also...

Shaft M2. No comment.

 

Next M3 weapon will be the Rail M3, which you will certainly get I presume... ;)

So from the M3 weapons I would recommend the Freeze M3 in combination with your Hornet.

Considering ranking: I still stick with the Smoky M2 as best option for you.

 

Disclaimer: Smoky M2, Hornet M3, Freeze M3 is the path I will follow myself, so I 'm pretty prejudiced. :)

If you really like/love your Wasp M1 and are planning to stick with it for a very long time: than micro-upgrading

the protection/HP is worth it IMO.

 

If you want to go to another hull like Hornet M1, than definitely don 't MU your Wasp M1!

(a few steps are ok though, as long as they don 't harm your crystal-stack)

I really enjoy using rail (surprisingly), I don't particularly like any other weapon, Firebird is great but the problem is in most maps IMO there is always a rico, thunder, rail that's shooting at me and by the time I get there I'm dead or I do very little damage. Yes I know I can be smart and go around etc, but I also get hit by others on their team etc.

 

But anyway, back on topic, is worth fully MU'ing the damage on my Rail M2 because that's all I will ever use till I can get a Rail M3, and by the time I can get get to rank for the kit, the kit will be gone for sure so I will have to wait even longer. I read on the wiki that fully upgrading the damage is 130k cry which I suppose I can live with considering I have like 7 ranks before I can get M3 hornet so I'm sure I'm going to earn that many crystals between that time.

 

But anyway, is it worth it? I've been told Rail M2 can 1 hit Hornet M2 with no protective paints when it's fully MU'ed or near to it atleast. But since most people have protective paint against Rail, is it worth it? I can 2 hit someone with full MU or I can 2 hit someone with no MU. Is it worth the 130k cry? Apologies for the long post.

u better try smoky besides rail, somky is fun and will also help u for the rail's aim.

What should I buy Swash or Tundra? I have m2 Isida, m2 Railgun, and m2 Firebird (next sale), and more. I want the Tundra for clan wars (I'm in a clan) but I want the Swash for my firebird. LoL, I'm not sure what to get.

Tundra, a must needed paint in this game and one of the best paint against rail, i even survived m3 rail with my m1 hornet because of tundra :p

If you are planning to only use the Rail M2 all the way to Rail M3: definitely worth it!

You go from: 88-135 to 103.6-157 damage and that 's really quite a difference you will notice.

 

It 's a long path towards General and Rail M3 from First LT so personally I would want to be sure that I kill

every hull that is possible with the maximum available damage.

So I would leave a lot less badly damaged hulls to be easy prey for others.

 

Also if fully micro-upgraded you get a 22.5% discount on the Rail M3.

Many Tankers advice to only micro-upgrade M3 's. Ofcourse those are the best without a doubt.

But if you are dealing with late upgrades, like in your case from Rail M2 towards Rail M3 I believe

that it surely can be worthwhile.

 

Leave the last steps for MU discounts along the way, saves you a lot of crystals.

 

(p.s. might read my next reply to doughnut2100, about only using Rail M2 towards Rail M3)

With only Hornet M3 and Rail M2 you will be in for a tough ride from Major till General and Rail M3.

IMO you better use a solution inbetween: too many Rail-paints, especially Prodigi 's on the battlefield.

 

Agree with you that the question if a possible inbetween should be Firebird M2, Smoky M2 or something else

is better to be responded by someone(s) else too.
