Seriously, if you want to be op with shaft m1, why not invest your crystals on buying dps instead of MUing it? For you question, you' d better upgrade your isida straightly to m2.

Should I buy Hornet M2 on a sale? I currently use Thunder M1 and Viking M1.

Vikinng m2 unlocks quite away so hornet will be good enough to get you there.

Twins really only works with heavy hulls whether as smoky can be used on every hull and work really well. As there are no heavy hulls until later then smoky will be best.

Honestly, Shaft wont get its damage high enough to become a stand out weapon. Just enough MU's to 1 hit a hornet m2 is all you need, all others will be going to waste. Shaft m2 isnt that far away even if you manage to fully MU its damage it wont give you much of a discount. Seriously, you should scrap MU'ing till m3 and instead invest in different turrets. They will be much more useful to you than 1 weapon thats slightly better than the original. 

 

Moving on, I would always wait for a sale before buying pretty much anything. It saves you so many cry that you can spend on other things. So with that Isida m2 on a sale will be a much better option.

Thunder Viking can rule any map. They are both slightly OP IMO and are really versatile. They both unlock early at m3 (unfortunatly not at m2 for viking but it is so worth the wait). I dont know why but i never really got into hunter. I got it m2 in hull kit and i have used it a few times but it never really stood out for me. It unlocks later than Hornet (which is why its hardly ever used) so i wouldnt recommend getting it over hornet. For now and in the long run Thunder Viking will suit you alot in terms of useability and price.

@Denex: Well to be honest both Wasp/Isida and Hunter/Isida are pretty good combinations. So it depends on your gameplay. If you're a speed-a-holic and prefer to think "outside the box," and can effectively control Wasp's speed and light weight (unstableness), then sure. I mean, who needs to kill a Mammoth sitting on a flag when you can wait for an opening while staying alive, find a ramp to jump on top of him, steal the flag, and run like hell, right? All the while trying not to flip over and dodging enemy shots.

Then maybe drop a Mine here, on top of that dude, and then dive for a 20 feet fall to land on my flag base thereby successfully capturing it!

If that's your attitude and can control Wasp, then perhaps Wasp. It's a risky purchase that can break you, or make you great. It can ruin your garage, or it can make you pretty darn awesome.

Make sure you can control the Wasp on Nitro too. Don't want you to go flying off the map. Haha.

 

But Hunter is a relatively safe purchase. With good armor, more speed to differentiate it from other Medium hulls, and Isida to regenerate its health, it's a powerful force - especially on drugs. It fits naturally with a LOT of other turrets, unlike Wasp.

 

And for Gold Boxes, being a Wasp you're going to have to avoid getting into the fray of the battle, and instead hide until the moment is right. Then try to get on top of everyone or simply go for it full speed. Being a Hunter you have more armor to withstand shots, and more pushing power than Wasp.

 

That's why it's kind of tough for me to recommend Wasp to anyone. It's one of those guns that can make you or break you in my opinion.

 

But agreed, Hornet/Isida is one of the most common ones. And there's a reason for that. It's pretty powerful being at 11 speed at M3, with 166 HP.

 

@DAZIVETROSSIA: Are you sure you want to MU an m1 item? Don't you want to save crystals for M2's, M3's, Paints, and then MU your m3 items?

And you do realize that only FULLY Micro-upgraded parameters will earn you any kind of discount on the next Modification, right?

 

If you must MU something, then maybe wait until Ricochet or Smoky gets to M2, since their M3's unlock at the end-game ranks. I mean seriously, Ricochet M3 unlocks at Commander rank, the rank right before Generalissimo! The Hornet is an easy M2 since it's only 70k.

 

@Loackie: You have Tundra already. You sure you want to go with Digital? Back when I was lower ranked, I persevered with Forester all the way until Digital, because I thought that the gap between Tundra and Digital was too small to be worth the crystals.

Ok I'll start saving up for m2 hornet and smokym2. Love that combo!

Save up for M2s. I'd suggest you to get Hornet M2 first, and then Thunder M2. As much as tempting it is to get Railgun M2, get those 2 first since the difference between Railgun M1 and M2 isn't that significant, in my opinion.

What I do is first get a hull so I can survive against the turrets then work towards whats on your list. For example when I got to Major General i got hornet m3 and then started on the rest of my buy list. If you already have a hull m3 then i would recommend a turret unless you are waiting for a later turret.
