I'm the same rank as you, and am facing a similar decision. However, I am going to go with freeze m3. I play polygon, noise, sandbox mostly. I think freeze is a great attacking weapon, buy also great at defense. Maybe not as great at defense as it use to be, but still good. There are too many guys with thunder paints from here on up, and all freeze really has to worry about for awhile is inferno paint. Hope this helps.

What to MU to M4? Choose a Turret and a Hull.

 

M3 Thunder and M3 Hammer

 

M3 Wasp and M3 Hunter

Thunder M3

It deals massive damage even when the distance between you and your opponents is quite big. Hammer loses a lot of power the farther you're away from your enemy due to the spread of its bullets. Hammer does hit a lot on close distance with 3 fast shots, but after these shots it takes quite some time to reload while you're relatively close to your opponents which makes you an easy prey. Only be careful with the splash damage of Thunder. You can kill yourself, but the splash damage is a real advantage as well. You can hit several enemies with 1 shot.

 

Hunter M3. Wasp is to weak in my opinion. Even when M4 it only has 180 health. So one shot of Railgun with some MUs or two shots of Thunder m4 and you're dead. Hunter is a quite fast medium hull, definitely not too slow! And it has a nice protection too, 285 when m4. :)

 

Wasp m2 or Hornet m3?

Hornet m3. I've got both of them m3 and wasp is just rusting in my garage. 

 

I only have around 5K crystals now but I have Rail M1 and Hornet M1 and it's the only combo I think i'll need, but should I save up for a secondary weapon in case I run into Railgun protection paints like Tundra? If so, which secondary weapon should I go with? Or should I save up for a good paint to go with my M1 Rail/Hornet? If I go this path, I was thinking of getting Tundra because Rail is really common in CTF/TDM, or maybe Corrosion since it protects against the other long range weapons. (Railgun, Thunder, and Shaft)

 

The levels I play the most are Aleksandrovsk, Rio, and Serpuhov, and less common levels I enjoy are Berlin, Barda, and Kungur if that helps you decide what secondary weapon or paint I should go with.

The paints that have been unlocked at your rank haven't got a decent protection yet. Try to wait as long as possible with investing crystals into paints. The paints you can buy now are not very useful at higher ranks. The maps you've mentioned or rather large maps, so I'd suggest a long-range turret such as Thunder or Vulcan. Ricochet is useful too in those maps. :)

Hard to choose. The 3 turrets you mentioned all fit well on Hornet. My preference might go to Isida. Thunder is better on a medium hull in my opinion. Freeze is great on Hornet, but I'm just not such a fan of this weapon. With Hornet (and Isida) you can quickly go to your teammates to heal them.

Yes, but you need to be careful about going into the pit at the right time. If you are careless, get Viking M1. And whichever is until Dictator or Hunger M2 not M1.

If you are getting killed by Freeze and Smoky constantly, take their protection to 34% (for about 20000 full cost each), and see how it goes. If you feel that it made a difference, go to 40%. If you are comfortable with that, leave it unless you have extra crystals you don't know what to do with.

Stop. This is a paint. You should be looking at better paints now from Savanna up.

Wouldn't Gizmos would have stronger and better paint? But now, I'm not sure if I should make it more MUs or stop. With it, I can evade better against freeze. At the moment my Rustle is similar to Clean Emerald.  My goal now is to get Picasso paint or Lumberjack, but that's far away.

Yup. Because rails are annoying when they pop out of nowhere to fire their laser beam with DP. Thunder users are common. Not sure about what Gizmos use, but I can imagine Clays are also pretty common. Anyways for the zeus vs lumberjack debate, I'll leave it for much later. But I think:

 

Zeus - Poly

Lumberjack - Island.

 

Then again, I might be wrong. :ph34r:

Making it 30 later, currently 27, keeping the crys for MUing isi and thundy right now :p

Do you guys buy paints? Did it helps against others ? And do you can feel difference when you using paint with protection and when you without paint? Did its worth to buy expensive paint? I have little problem, i want to buy DIRTY paint but i am not sure what to do. This paint have protection against Shaft and Railgun, these weapons have biggest damage and they are long ranged thats why i like. But did its worth? What you guys think? And which paints you prefer? Or maybe you just buy becouse you like the look of the paint?

Imagine, Shaft M3 fully upgraded does 260 amount of pure damage,

it means the Demise of light hulls, M3 hunter with no or little micros,

 

And put a huge dent into Viking M3/Dictator/Titan/Mammy

 

now someone buys Jade, micro upgrades it to 50% against shaft,

Result is damage goes to 130, it cant even one shot M2 wasp ;)

 

My suggestion: pick just 2 paints on the low ranks and come up, My own nub paints
