I think you should wait till you rank up , so you can have enough crystals for smoky m2. Paints are not an issue.

In addition, try to avoid buying many m2's as you can buy their m3's directly when you unlock them, so spending crystals on m2's are a waste.

Ricochet is not good at your rank, but smoky is and it will be extremely helpful as you rank to higher ranks.

Thanks :) the only m3s I want are hunter and smoky, which are really expensive.... i should be able to get them around tanki's next birthday

^Go for Thunder. Freeze M2 is outclassed now as M3 is just two ranks away. Freeze for some reason just isn't good enough now even at M3 as its ability to stop enemies in their tracks is taken away from it. So Thunder is the best choice for now and as its M3 its much superior to Ricochet M2.

I would honestly wait until later ranks to buy paints. I used Tundra all the way up from WO5 to Field Marshal, and I'm still using it now. If you really want a paint I would say either rustle or loam, but they do get outclassed later on by emerald and inferno / zeus later on. You can just MU Tundra a bit to get it to Digital's parameters. Just wait until the marshal or brigadier ranks and get a quality paint like emerald or prodigi. If you use crystals on lower tiered paints now, you'll regret the purchase later on when better paints unlock.

Thanks for sharing this I will learn a lot from this and I'm sure other newbies will as well, cause I bought lava last time and wasted 12k upgrading it fully now I never use it, it got 30% protection from freeze but I use Metalic because it looks cool :P I don't see that many thunder users out there but I'm one myself.

With Tundra as your primary paint you do not need to get a paint until you get to at least a 2-Star General.

Go for a paint like Nano/Taiga/Rock .. Later go for Titan ..

Rock and Zeus are the two best paints for Polygon because the two most popular turrets in that map are Firebird and Twins. I got Rock and am extremely happy with it, and will be getting Zeus at Christmas. I recommend that you get Rock and get Titan later because Hunter is a great hull for Polygon when paired with Hammer or Smoky.

Twins + viking are a good combo; with it's high DPM, you can rush bases quite well. I personally wouldn't use freeze with viking for mid-sized maps, you're better off going for hunter with it's increased speed.
