What to buy? Which is better?

Hmmm, so you're saying Firebird M2 first?? Just came out of an Island TDM, one of my teammates was a Major, still had Hornet and Railgun M1 (No idea why he was using Railgun in Island). Then, my other teammate was also Major, but he had Hornet M2, and Firebird M2. Hornet M2 unlocks at Second Lieutenant, and I'm about to rank. Also, considering that I have 3 more ranks from Second Lieutenant to get to Major, that gives me plenty of time to get 94k crystals. Also, there might be a discount sometime. So I actually think it's smarter to get Hornet M2 first, then save up for Firebird M2.

PS. I got a gold box in a Silence DM with my Thunder+Hornet combo.

Sorry, I don't know how to put the pictures in, I only know how to do it using links.

No, I did mean get Hornet M2 first, but I worded it under the assumption that was your automatic option when getting Fire. Anyway, GL, Hornet's a beauty.

If you like relying on Luck, I'd recommend Smoky. If you want brute strength to sear through your enemies, then I recommend Firebird.

Keep in mind that Firebird would need a Light/Medium hull.

Smoky could do well on both.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've tried Firebird on test server (hehehe), and it's not too shabby!
I've seen Firebirds in battle, and once they get you, it's a real annoyance. They either kill you or cripple you.
I've used Firebird M1 a lot in my newb days. If you know how to do it, then you will excel.
Remember, with Light-hulls you can save your fuel and use a fixed amount on each opponent and move on, or you can just blast all of it out at one opponent, die, and come back and repeat the process, because you have speed on your side.
With Medium hulls you might want to conserve fuel. You'll stay around longer than a light hull, but remember, you'll also be on the move. Once you use up all your fuel, you'll be heading into enemy lines with barely any ammo left- something you don't want to do because then you won't be able to kill them, only slowing them down with your dead tank.
If you happen to use a Heavy Hull, I strongly recommend Titan. You'll need the speed. Either way, for Heavy Hulls you won't be travelling much (I hope, or else you'll just be a moving Damage-dummy), and you're able to let your fuel bar recover. I think with Mammoth you'll mostly be a defensive person, guarding choke-points in TDM/DM, and important paths leading to your flag in CTF.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For Smoky, well it's wonderful!

Especially on drugs. When M2 Titans/ M2 Mammoths don't see me, I can 1-shot them if I have a DP on. It's possible. I've already 1-shotted an M2 Titan today as soon as he respawned.

Due to the fast firing and impact, it can unbalance opponents.

I use Mammoth, so I don't feel the recoil. If you use a Light hull, prepare to feel some recoil.

The Critical is very nice and you never know when it's going to happen.

Smoky without the critical happening isn't too bad either. With the fast-firing and the 28-35 damage range, it's actually quite interesting.

For Hornet M2's, it takes 4 regular shots.

For Hornet M1, I can 2-shot it with a DP.

And talk about a Critical, 1-shot KO!

And don't even get me started on streaks. It's very fun if your Criticals appear one after another. So far I think my best was something like 4-5 criticals in 6-8 shots or something. It was amazing.

Criticals even more druggers are a hassle.

The accuracy is very handy.

At first I also doubted buying Smoky. Would the criticals appear enough? Yes they do appear enough to satisfy me. And if you are Lucky then possibly your first shot in the battle will be a critical!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I may sound biased- in favor of Smoky. However, that's really because I own Smoky M2 and not Firebird M2.- although I do consider myself at least decent with Firebird.
How do you play?
Which fits you better?
What hull do you have?
Those are the kinds of questions you might want to ask yourself before buying.
Firebird is great too. Maybe someone on Forum with Firebird M2 can talk to you more about it (Not sure, maybe Raphael2, or Husto/IceRugby), but it is nonetheless just as good as Smoky.
Yea im going for firebird.
Firebird is quite op but everyone knows how underrated the reload time is,
Seymon said that they wanted turrets like shaft to be more playable so why don't they make firebird more playable by slightly increasing the recharge time in addition to extra time to kill enemies
doduobird: but I like more offense than defense I was thinking to upgrade hunter m1 attack ? what you think ? :)
Actually, if you really like offense, I'd recommend Hornet, perfect for drugging, taking the flag and making a quick getaway. It's still your choice. Hornet M1 is cheaper, though  ;)
What maps do you play in, and what paints do you have? And do you like Close-ranged, Far-ranged, both, or just don't care? :P
I like to play in slience or Iran for the most part and i like close-ranged battles. My highest paint is jaguar.
who is the best of M1-es?
light tank medium or heavy?
who is best turret of each?
There is no really best M1, but based on stats, I'd say: Twins, Thunder or Railgun (In no particular order)
It really depends on your play style. I'm a Hornet fan :) You need to give us more info, what's your favorite gun, do you like attacking, midfielding, or defending? What upgrades do you have already?
As mentioned above, there really is no best turret, but my favorite are: Thunder, Firebird, Railgun, Smoky.
Also, what stages do you like to play in?
Yay! I just got a goldbox in Bobruisk CTF, and I won second place!
Sorry, I couldn't get a pic of the goldbox, as I had the flag, so I didn't have much time to take a screenshot, I would've probably been dead if I had!
Im leaning toward smoky m2 but the thing is that i have to tank a bunch.
I'd say you would probably rank up to Colonel by Tankman Day. Maybe if you play a lot you might be able to get to Colonel earlier than that. Smoky M2 costs a fortune, so unless you're a buyer, you should wait for a 50% sale.
Wait... If you like close ranged battles, why are you planning to get Smoky M2?
doduobird: i have hornet m1 but i wont secend hulls what you think about hunter for attack better then viking :D ??
Use Hornet for now. I wouldn't waste the 30k for Hunter M1, I would rather save up for an M1 or M2.
Here's a useful link comparing Hunter and Viking: http://en.tankiwiki.com/Medium_Tanks_-_How_to_Choose,_How_to_Use
@;n10shnableFoul: You say you like Close-ranged? Really I'd suggest Firebird.
But what hulls do you use?
Do you think I should get Hornet M2, or save those crystals, rank up to Major and buy Firebird M2?
