Micro Upgrades or Full Price?

Would using micro upgrades to get the item upgraded cost more or less? Would it be more profitable to actually buy it full price?

its more profitable to buy full price on a sale.

however, if ur gonna buy without sale, MU is better because u dont have to accumulate all the crystals at once, and you can get small but noticeable boosts. speed ups are never worth it. if you dont speed up, the price for just the upgrades is equal to the price of the next modification (except for m3), and you get the next modification for free.

MUs are designed for players to upgrade thier favorite turret slowly while accumulating crystals so when they reach the rank, they can get it for free.

e.g a player really likes smoky but has to wait until colonel to get it m2. he MUs slowly on his way there, eventualy reaching a m1 smoky with the same stats as m2 before the m2 unlocks, and getting the m2 for free at colonel

its not worth it to MU if u can get the next modification separately in one purchase because one purchase is more time efficient and you will not be wasting any crystals

You have 3 options:

• If you just bought a new item (like your Hornet M2), then it's a good idea to gradually upgrade it with MUs. Never use speed-ups and patiently wait for each upgrade to complete before starting the next one. If you do that, then by the time you reach Marshall rank and be able to buy Hornet M3, you will already have a fully upgraded 10/10 Hornet M2 and you will be able to get M3 for free.
• If the next modification will soon unlock or it is already unlocked and you can buy it (like Railgun M2), then it's definitely better to buy the modification. It's best to wait for a Personal Discount or a holiday sale to save crystals, but definitely do NOT use MUs, because you will either spend ages waiting for them to finish, or you will waste a lot more crystals on speed-ups.
• If you already have a lot of upgrades on an item (5/10, or more), then it's a good idea to continue upgrading until you get to 10/10 and then buy the next modification. Again, try not to use speed-ups, since they make the upgrading process a lot more expensive.
