The first edition of THE ARENA has come and gone, and it has been great fun. ALL KIND came out triumphant and are now the new champions of THE ARENA. Of course, there will soon be new contestants who will challenge ALL KIND for the crown, so it remains to be seen how long AK will manage to keep their title.

Have you ever wondered whether the top eSports clans are really as good as they say they are?
 
Of course, they're pretty good at playing the tournament formats in the standard maps. But what can they do if we just drop them into one of the non-tournament maps with ONLY ONE HOUR of warning to prepare? 
 
Well, you're about to find out in this new eSports LIVE STREAM called:
 
 
THE ARENA
 
This pilot episode of the arena will feature two prominent clans from the community —ALL KIND vs PENGUINS—, battling it out over 4 rounds of 12 minutes each (2 minutes prep, 10 minutes play time). The team that manages to capture the most flags across all 4 rounds, wins.
 
The battle will be streamed on our eSports channel, with a special giveaway for the viewers at the end of the stream.

Equipment
 
Each team will consist of 7 players, and each player will have to use a different hull. So, each team will have 1 Wasp, 1 Hornet, and so on. The teams will be allowed to pick whichever turrets they wish, but once again with the condition that there can only be one of each turret in a team.
 
Map
 
The map will be revealed to both teams 1 hour before the battle.
 
To make things more challenging, we'll be staying away from the regular tournament maps. This means we'll be choosing any of the 70+ maps in Tanki Online. This will test our teams to see who's the quickest at adapting and developing effective strategy.
 
Map creation and starting side will be handled by the organizers.

Number of player slots: 8 for each side (7 players and 1 extra slot in case of technical difficulties)
Time: 12 minutes (2 for preparation, 10 for the battle)
Score: unlimited (blank)

RULES:

 
Players participating in matches:
 
It is forbidden to take any kind of actions against the opponent such as capturing a point, taking the flag, inflicting damage or destroying enemy tanks before the start of the game (10:00 on timer).
 
Players whose tank has flipped are not allowed to leave the battle and re-enter. They must wait until the self-destruction process is complete.
 
It is forbidden to be in non-playable areas while holding the flag (such as the edge of the map, holes, building tops, etc.).
 
Unlimited Turret changes are allowed during the match, as long as the "only 1 of each turret per team" rule is respected.
 
If a player lags, the clan must inform the opponents about the situation and make a substitution.
 
Organizers have the right to require a substitution for each player and then the player must leave the battle.
The player has the right to leave the battle after he is killed but not more than 15 seconds after the request.
If the player does not leave the battle 15 seconds after the request, the organizers have the right to kick the player from the battle.
If a substitute is not available, the match will continue in unequal line-ups and the result of the match will be counted.
 
If a player cannot continue playing in a match (problems with electricity/internet, etc), the match will continue in unequal line-ups and the result of the match will be counted.
 
Each player is responsible for his actions in the match, in the chat, on the forum and in Skype.
In case of misbehavior, insulting players or the organizers or violation of the generally accepted rules of conduct, the player could be disqualified from the tournament.
 
In the first round between 11:00 and 10:30 according to the round time, all the players from both clans must be in the center of the map for formation.
This give clans an opportunity to make sure no one is using prohibited game content. Formation is when clan members’ tanks are placed in a row facing each other in the zone of visibility.
 
At 10:15 according to the round time, the players must press the “self-destruct” (Delete) button and the battle begins.
In the round between 10:15 and 10:00 according to the round time, it is forbidden to leave the battle.

Teams are experienced and they follow the rules. I doubt for any violations there.

We really weren't sure how the community would accept this battle, so we hand picked 2 volunteer clans to showcase.

 

This is a new event, so in the future, If it's a success, and the community  likes it, we might be asking for up and coming clans to participate. But again, it depends on your feedback. So please watch.

This Battle is NOT a drug fest.....or XP/BP.

 

This is different. It's basically a game of wits between teams. so the smarter team will prevail.

For this Event, we asked 2 EN clans to volunteer to be showcased. We weren't really sure how much of a success this would be. In fact, there were some of us at esports that thought it would fail. But the majority prevailed, and here we are.

 

If the event proves to be a success, then we will open it for clan sign-ups.

Because the teams get to choose from 13 different turrets, but only 7 are allowed in the battle........................Which would you choose? Given the enemy team you were faced with?

 

A team member may start with Twins, or Rico, and find that given the enemy, these turrets aren't effective...... so they will have to think and choose an alternative turret.
