Is the server merge going to eliminate the lag issues?  To tell the truth I am really getting tired of playing Tanki with the sound off and the graphics down to the bare bones minimum just to be able to fight.  Only to still get the low FPS and high Ping.

Agree but I play sometimes on the PC right beside our modem...so I have less lag.

Well, you may think that moderators or admins get a lot of information about tanki online sale and updates before players, but that's not true, we (moderators & admins) get the information at the same time as the players get. Moreover, moderators are not a developer, therefore we have nothing to do with sale or updates, nor we get any information about them. Anyway, now lets wait until the server restart to see the new cool paints :)

I fully understand what you guys are saying , but lets hope things change for the future sales , even if its only Admin getting info so they can answer players . is all i want to see cause were all just guessing at what will happen.

yea this should cut back on lag due to less servers being open and less players scattered all over the place . if this is like 2014 what it means is all ranks and battles will be on a number of servers this giving us more players in chat rooms and less unused servers . all basically is doing is bunching players into a selected number of servers . meaning less work for chat staff to do and game battle mods . this will also help players with needing mods to help in battles for hackers and other issues.

The server merging sounds "interesting" ... like the Bubonic Plague, burning at the stake, being eaten alive by ants and root canal surgery on your teeth sounds "interesting".

 

I predict this will be another "feature" nobody wants or needs that will make Tanki worse - while legitimate BUGS go unaddressed.

 

My favorite bug: Go to any server.  Pick a type of battle.  The display should only show battles of that type, right?  See one that is not of the selected type?  Yeah.  It's a bug.  It's why when you have a DM mission and you select ONLY DM missions and click on one you sometimes wind up in CTF or TDM.  So Tanki dev are so busy introducing features nobody wants or needs they don't fix glaringly OBVIOUS bugs that have been right in front of them for years.

 

The server merge will mean players won't know WHY they're at a disadvantage in a particular battle.  But if you're in the US, and playing a game on a server in Russia, you WILL be slower than the Russians.   It's sort of a cheat.

agreed with this , there are a number of them one that bugs me the most is selecting DM and then you also have one battle mixed in as a cp or TDM match. this bug has been there way before my time and still not resolved.

Well I wasn't really trying to give you advice so much as I was addressing what I feel to be a wrong assumption by a lot of players. I disagree that this is a pay to win game because (A) I do not uy and I compete and ( B) there's nothing to "win" anyway.

 

That being said I agree with you that rampant drugging makes the game less fun. The existing supplies are too powerful because they dominate the game. That is another reason I do not spend money on Tanki.  The company has made it clear the DA/DD drugs will always be here. That's taki. So I play so long as it is fun to battle. When a battle is not fun I leave the battle. When I can't find a battle I leave the game. Bottom Line: Tanki suffers at the bottom line. My guess is this game will not be around a year from now. Or perhaps will be run by a different owner.

Tanki is fully embracing a "pay to win" mentality.  It started when they eliminated pro battles for daily missions.  That means all missions are in drug-using battles.  They "compensated" by spreading the range of ranks for each battle.  Of course, all that does is ensure that weaker players will be dominated by even HIGHER ranked opponents.  Again, if you haven't bought the latest kit and lots of supplies, you get whacked unless you're the top-ranking player for the battle.  So it's a little like Tanki saying, "We had to stab you, (so sorry) but to make things better, we're going to shoot you too."

 

I don't think Tanki will fail in a year.  It could have new owners, but it will last another year at least.  Two years?  Maybe.  If it keeps going like this though - the third year could be the last.

2) True up to a certain rank. At my level doesn't matter - if your fighting two levels up it's legend territory. My ranking won't hurt me now. Will add more crystals upon rank-up though.

 

1) Not necessarily.

Yes we can compete somewhat but...

A) Since they removed missions from Pro-Battles we need to use up a lot more supplies than before, just to complete 1-3 missions. RKs are not distributed as freebie rewards in same proportion as they come in kits. So Supply buyers have huge advantage there. RKs get used a LOT.

B) Special Events.  Did not even bother trying lately - I don't have the RKs to make it worth-while competing with opponents who spam an RK every time I'm about to deep-six them.

 

Many of the daily missions are "get 80 kills" or finish first 3 times. Getting those 80 kills requires a lot of supplies because the enemies have 40%+ protection against my turret. So it either takes 3-4 battles to complete (using up lots of supplies) or I end up completing only 1 or 2 missions for that day.

 

I'm at the in-between stage - high enough to regularly battle enemies with full, upgraded garages (and supplies), but not high enough to have acquired the assets to really compete on an even basis.

I do not doubt you for a minute. My highest ranked account (LittleWillie) sees the most drug use. The game does not get more fun as you rank up in my experience. But here's the thing: no one forces me to rank up. There is nothing at Legend for me to do that I cannot do at Master Sgt rank. This is Tanki's great design failure. This is what I mean by "there's nothing to win". I simply do not try to keep pace with the buyers. I do not have to.

 

Thanks LittleWillie, I remember that day where you bought some items just before a sale, and you got really mad at them, that was a nasty move from Tanki, especially for the fact that they announce most of the sales in the Vlog before, and they made us rely on Vlog's to know about the next sales.

 

points is, now you can't find a single player with no bad experience with how Tanki is managed. :D

 

but i don't think Tanki will end because of players quieting, i think it will end when Adobe flash technology end in about 1 or 2 years from now, and from then, all will play Tanki X i think, i won't because i have a really bad Pc. :lol:

Yes that was the breaking point for me. I believe I can claim credit for the reason sale prices no longer affect kit prices, lol. I play because I still like drive and shoot. But I do not expect anything from the company any more. So I am never let down anymore, lol.

 

I agree with you. I've never seen a game with so many die-hard players so annoyed with the game.

I agree. I actually give Tanki high marks for the way their revenue does not buy too much of an advantage. The Goos Sportsman can donate to the game upkeep by buying paints and gld boxes, for example. Iused to buy the occasional Gold Box before I saw one too many fails by Tanki as a basic gaming company. I wish I respected them enough to support them still. But so many claims they make never materialize...

Server merging is a good thing. EN1 is/was desolate. EN2 wasn't much better.

 

As a Legend 3 (and as far back as Fieldmarshal) I had to switch to RU2 and RU3 to find decent battles. This change saves me a step.

 

Not sure about matchmaking... sounds kinda ominous. Also not sure about the rumblings about PRO pass disappearing. Wait and see I guess.

 

Paint and sale? Mildly interested to see the new paints but will wait until morning in US

ok so these are the new paints . I'm disappointed with how they look . seeing that with the happy face and the space one just the last two paints which just came out on the last two events , we know the dev's could do better then this . to me the paints fall short on the way they look , the steak looks too much like Mars paint but in a darker red / the Vanadium reminds me of Rhino and Nano but in silver /  pajamas looks like a cross of Spangle and space /  Rust is Sahara and Tiger but lighter in color / strawberry , lunar soil , Barber shop ( will be hard on the eyes and give head aches when looking at it too long.) , Scandinavia not at all interested in all of theses paints in general . Glitch well not happening

I Dont get it as well. Guys, i am not a buyer as well, but look at my profile. I earned 4.6 million crystals. Of course, it took me 4 years but in this 4 years, i never felt bored and feel a sense of achievement to unlock each and every turret hull.

Today, i only have 2 more turrets to m3, with shaft 2 steps away to m3 and hulls, 3 hulls is enough with one in light, medium and heavy.

I have over 1.2k drugs each through saving and using sparingly.

IF I CAN DO IT, why cant you guys?
