Pajamas 30€, I think this is way expensive for this paint. That paint looks meeeh. I saw Vanadium on battle and it's just a grey Nano, does not deserve 30€ either. Glitch is fun.

No otherwise useless item of decoration is worth any money. Period.

so... 2 years ago they split the servers because the russians didn't understand english, the international players didn't understand russians and germans didn't understand both. so now we cannot communicate with our team mates. this is what is called consistency...

It's "either". And what language do you speak btw?

Also, I'm trusting you are putting the new paints in the garage. Am I right?

Oh yeah, that would support non-buyers too much and encourage them to play the game. Can't have that.

Lobby chat?  That is location-based. If your default server was EN, you would see English in the lobby chat, not Russian.

Well I'm in France and i'm not sure what my default server is. I mean it could be german because germany is closer, or it could be english. But I don't always see english, I saw french and spanish as well. and i do remember seeing russian on the lobby chat before..

Don't worry, the default server was the one you are sent to according to your rank. It was split before between Russia (20+ servers), EN (8 servers), PL (1) and Germany (1). But now there is 24+ servers and no distinction of "nationality".  Some people just like to stay in there comfortable cosy room and panic when they see strangers. and yes Russian could come to EN lobbie and vice-versa. Nothing new here.

Tanki, when you force players to complete mission in regular battle, which is heavily drug abused, players are leaving. Now you don't need that many servers for players.

When you promote Pro-battle pass, you said Pro-battle has more features, better mode, bla bla. Then why force players to complete mission on regular battle?

No one like to play with heavy druggers, even druggers themselves. Drug makes all skills or strategies irrelevant, totally ruin the game.

servers lag like hell now, this update made more bad then good.

This was completely unnecessary. The servers are literally same, EU 2 full, EU11-EU23 empty. Please make 10 servers where people can battle. It will reduce lags, as you said in tankix.

I usually play on RU servers, but today was just ugh. I played three hours of Poly CP battles. I don't think my team won a single one. I joined winning teams - some ahead by 20-30 points, then inevitably the reverse would happen and no matter how hard I tried we always lost, usually by a lot.

Bad luck day? Maybe. Time will tell.

Battle chat was a wake up call too. I had players fussing at me in Russian. Doesn't normallly happen even on old RU servers.

As for game performance, I have usually been loaded in a battle in under 10 seconds and my garage usually loads much quicker now.

I haven't experienced any server lag as of today.

Economics.

Consider a Bugatti and a Ferrari.  Bugatti might cost 3x the Ferrari, but... is it worth it?

Priced to differentiate, and make it more "exclusive".

I agree that Tanki is probably trying to foster a sense of exclusivity with some prices. My angle on that is, that sort of thing does not work well on a purely subjective matter. The best looking paint in the game in your eyes might cost 75k. The best looking paint in the game to me might cost 3k.

The matter of taste is even more important when we are talking about real money in the shop.

Tanki need to hire some marketing people.

In a shrinking player base they concentrate the remaining players on fewer servers.

So we get a new match making system. Does that mean we get to make our own battles again  :)

It was always the same, you can create your own battle, but in order to create your own map, you must have "PRO battle" pass. You can find more information about the PRO battle in here http://en.tankiwiki.com/Creating_a_battle

Tankers!

Tomorrow’s server restart at 02:00 UTC, brings with it several bug fixes and an interesting change in the way servers are organized. Additionally, we’ll be having sales on Shop paints for three full days, and releasing nine brand new paints to choose from for your tank!

Servers Merging

With this patch update, we will be merging the Russian, English, German and Polish servers. The system will no longer force you to play exclusively with players from your same localization. Instead, you will be able to play with tankers from all language versions, which means that there will be even more battles on every server for you to play in.

This is the first important step towards the Matchmaking system.

New Paints

The update also brings with it nine new paints to add to your tank’s colorful wardrobe.

If you’re curious about what these new paints are going to look like, we can tell you their names and leave the rest up to your imagination:

Glitch, Scandinavia, Barber Shop, Vanadium, Strawberry, Rust, Lunar Soil, Pajamas, and Steak.

Sales on Shop paints

Additionally, if there are any of the current Shop paints that you’ve been wanting to add to your collection, we’re slashing their prices for three full days. Here’s how that’s going to work:

Details

  • Discount: 50% off Shop paints
  • Duration: 24hrs
  • Starts: 02:00 UTC on Thursday 18th May
  • Ends: 02:00 UTC on Friday 19th May
  • Discount: 40% off Shop paints
  • Duration: 24hrs
  • Starts: 02:00 UTC on Friday 19th May
  • Ends: 02:00 UTC on Saturday 20th May
  • Discount: 30% off Shop paints
  • Duration: 24hrs
  • Starts: 02:00 UTC on Saturday 20th May
  • Ends: 02:00 UTC on Sunday 21st May
ATTENTION: The discounts are only valid on Shop paints, and do NOT include the nine new paints that will be introduced tomorrow.

So, log in tomorrow to check out all that the new update has brought to the game, and make sure you visit the Shop during the 3 days of discounts!

For more details about tomorrow’s release, please check the Patch Notes.

Oh I agree.

It may not be the "looks" though. Some people may pay money for something that many think is fugly, but - they are "one of the few" that has it.  It is weird.

Tanki is coming to the end. Server merging? More stuff for Pay2Wins? When instead of update we will have closing announcment? To get players who is donating you need players at all. You should add at least few non buyer paints of fix few of many game issues (like isida or crashes). Btw say to "Lunar Soil" paint creator that paint is awsome work of art

Does this mean Tanki is DEAD/DYING? No, I'm not talking about the new stuff, the paints, match-making system, etc.

That is how Tanki goes, better to the players, right? Bruce Lunga would certainly appreciate newer things too :)

What I'm really talking about here, is the merged servers. Back in the older days of Tanki, where it was still just Russian space garble, you had whole Russian servers, 1-24 I believe (I forgot), and trust me THEY WERE PACKED.

So, the geniuses behind this game, along with the new ENGLISH community, decided to add other dedicated language servers.

This update reduced the lag and also gave tankers friends to actually chat with, rather than just type emoticons to each other.

But, along with the separated servers, mentioned earlier, the player population was about its peak.

So, in conclusion, does this mean merged servers imply Tanki Online is losing players???

Therefore, is it dying?

Yeah I know they are out there and Taanki seems to have more than its shre. But I think Tanki is leaving money on the table. If they priced the more cheaply my guess is they'd sell more. Well not my problem I guess.

The merging of the servers, creating the EU servers is Tanki's admission of failure.

Do you remember when tanki took away everyone's ability to create battles and  limited it to the few players that bought pro pass?

For a small period of time there were a lot of pro battles and a few regular battles.

Now there are very few pro battles and very few regular battles.

So now, Tanki has to merge the servers because there are not enough players for all the servers they had.

By removing alot of the servers, the players they have left are channeled to the new merged EU servers.

if Tanki did not do this, we would all be playing the same 1 v 1 and 1v2 battles that are left.

Gameplay is going to be worse because because there will be a severe lack of communication.

Alot of players are not going to speak the same language.

Coordinating with your team is going to be limited

Tanki keeps making the game worse

Yes, tanki is dying and this server update just speeds it up.  This is so far the biggest mistake in tanki dev history, and there were many already before this.  Too many servers makes it even more difficult to find suitable battles.  Language barriers make battles less fun and relatively high share of buyers make battles dull and boring.

One big mistake earlier was to move battle creation to pro pass players only.

I guess there's a lot of good Shaft players then because I get one shot many times. There'll be noob players with any turret, starting with Isida, yet many only remember the good Isida players of the other team. Since Shaft is harder to play, I give you that, those that play Shaft are good with it, meaning less Shaft noobs. But that's just guessing.

i still don't understand the 'I was first there' importance, unless you are talking about being first and picking up supplies and start one shooting as soon as someone enters and then maintaining that momentum.

Anyway, good luck with your Shaft. :)

First means I had headstart of score which is why I came first, if you want to compare shaft fairly test to out against other m3s it will have extremely hard time holding up. Edited by Truthteller
