Fix Isida's beam targeting

Recommended Posts

So, when I attack an enemy I have to hit their turret. If I end up aiming away from their turret the beam no longer attacks the enemy. So my idea is to make isida beam also go for the hull. I know it already does, but If you originally go for the turret you cant hit the hull which makes it hard to kill tankers. This is a good idea so isida isn't so UP when attacking.

I'm not sure about this issue and I haven't experienced it before. But then again, I don't play that much with Isida. Can any Isida enthusiasts confirm?

Yes, me. I don't have any issues playing with my M2 Isida except I want the self-healing back, please.

I'm talking about the issue explained in this topic, not general requests regarding Isida.

Just saying, most Isidas don't even notice the "issue" that he's talking about.

I think he's refering to isida's vertical aim, if you bump into the tank your attacking, the tank pitches up a bit and the isida loses aim because of it's narrow vertical aim

This also happens sometimes if you are accelerate or decelerate

Also it's hard to target tanks below or above you line horizontal plane, like when a tank is on ground below the one isida is on

I think isida is balanced despite that because of it's high Dps, If it's vertical aim is improved it's Dps must go down otherwise it will become a super weapon lol

No, I'm referring to horizontal aiming. If I shoot at an enemy where their turret is and I move my beam to a different part of their tank, the isida stops attacking. Now, say I began shooting the front or back end and turned my isida so it'd aim at their turret it'd continue to damage, not cut off. I have to let off the c button then press it down again to resume attacking. "C" is the button I use for shooting.

By improving Isida in this way a nerf would be also needed so that the weapon remains balanced and I'm fine with it as it is to be honest. If you really want easier aiming you may consider buying the M1 alteration for Isida, although I do not recommend it since I've never tried it.

Isida is flawed as it is because of the narrow aim. Try it with Hornet and Viking, because with any other hulls it is easy to lose aim because they are taller, and Wasp is always rocking and that's not good unless you want to heal the planet, let's not even imagine Dictators. Flaw.

This is so horrible for an attacking Isida or when you are defending your self. For healers I think it's okay because they have it easier.

They should give it back it's 30% angle.

That would be nice. Kinda sad how I just got Stinger and I now have 20% Smoky protection, but because of this issue, a WO1 with Striker kit was able to kill me :/

They should rename Striker kit because it has Smoky, not Striker xD

What hull that you used? Never happened to me. Hunter user

Just want to suggest / complain about the vertical aim, but as the topic already exist, i just gonna add something.

I not used hornet or viking (low ride hull) hunter user here.

I have right aim, but every accelerate/brake the aim always cut off.

Being short range, I mostly forced to move and that lucky parameter is discouraging me to attack.

Ah, after considering my thought before, and what dev do to isida (damage draining energy more) I seen a light.

Discouraging to attack. Discouraging to attack.

It was planned T_T, my "increase vertical aim" hope destroyed.T_T

Hornet, being low as it is, should have no problem staying on target, since that's what I use.

And gosh, I hate Dictator's..."flaw."

I use the Isida M0 with Wasp and it's pretty hard to kill anyone with it unless they're stood still.

The only way that works for me with it is to attack from the side (and ideally pin the enemy to a wall) so they can't move.

Going from the back leaves you vulnerable to mines, and players get those down pretty darn quick.

If that fails, I go frontal on them and pin them to a wall so that when I die they're stuck there for a few seconds, giving time for someone else to get em.

I'm thinking of getting the Stinger M2 Isida, but I'm hesitant about buying it and finding it's not great, as the OP has stated.

Refer to the red highlight. Change that to Hornet or Viking and you'll have a much better performance

Thanks, but I tried that last night on a Bridges DM.  I got absolutely mullered just as badly as with the Wasp, which at least doesn't constantly drift like Tommi Makkinen.

In desperation went to Thunder, then Firebird and back to Isida before realising at least with the Wasp it goes where I want it to.

Isida definitely needs tuning.

Yeah, the cone angle needs fixing, since it says in the guide, that it can hit anywhere on the hull, but once an opponent moves a bit, and still within the cone, the Isida's beam goes away, sometimes.

Ahh, I understand. He makes a valid point there. Maps like Massacre are the bane of Isida's existence - the pits make it impossible to kill/heal without being right behind the tank. Isida right now is, without exaggeration, broken. The DPS is too high and I miss self-healing. The vertical aim could probably be given a buff with a nerf of range - that could either balance Isida or be a pretty good alteration.

Isn't that what the Broadband Emmitters alteration does for isida?

I use isida quite a bit, I never came across this problem... It aims both at the hull as well as the turret. Even if you heal or trying to kill an enemy tank.

Isida is now a perfectly balanced turret. It is no longer overpowered or underpowered. It 100% OK.

Yes I do agree that Isida must deal damage and repair team mates in team battles when targeting both the turret or hull of another tank.
