For those who want to do some of their own "cache exploration" but are intimidated by the thousands of files with no extensions, I've written a small .bat file to do this automatically.

 

Step 1: Copy files from cache into a seperate folder.

Step 2: Create a new .txt file in that same folder.

Step 3: Paste the following in:

Step 4: Save the file with a .bat extensions and run.

 

Files should have proper extensions. I've left .swf files out, but honestly there isn't much you can do with them.

 

There's actually something simpler than that. Lemme explain:

 

1. First of all, copy the cache folder to your Desktop for easier exploration.

2. Shift + Right Click on the mouse button on the folder which will open up a list of commands/items.

3. Click on Open command window here.

4. Then, type the following command:

 

ren * *.png

 

5. This will instantly apply the .png extension to all files in the folder, making them viewable images.

At least half of the files are not images at all.

I was only talking about those who are images, rest are cache only files intended to store information. They won't matter as you've already copied the whole folder to your Desktop and wont interfere with the original cache folder. The way I mentioned is also how I made this topic.

The recent Wiki updates saw a minor change in the format image links work, and thus, disrupted at least half of the entire original post. In simple words, yes, all of the images copied from the Wiki have to be copied again in order to preview them. This topic will be updated with all of new items recently added or changed in the game as soon as possible. Thanks for your input!
