What if... this is a command that can be used only in the pause mode (and the pause time continues to run).

This would prevent to get shot over and over again too.

That can be made so, currently pressing enter while on pause canceles the pause so that would need to change, the problem with that is that players may start using this to chat while not worrying about respawning which kills the battles

 

I really think it should be kept simple, writting commands is possible while dead or alive, and the change applies with the next respawn

 

Modules may need some work as you described or if tanki wants to keep things simple then players will need to remember their modules

An obstacle for this will be Tanki Mobile, I think those users will have another disadvantage if this is implemented.

seems cool it will just be an inconvenience at times when you are in battle and getting spawn killed while trying to type commands. Also if you pause you cant open chat so that wont work either so there would need to be a safe time or something where you can type commands without risking your D/L

I think Tanki mobile players will have a disadvatage at everything not just chat, I don't see how they will ever be able to drive, turn the turret, shoot and use supplies as good and effeciant as PC players can uusing touch screens

 

Maybe mobile phone companies should start working on mini keyboards or gaming controllers that can be attached to mobile phones since mobiles can handle bigger games now

Well the idea is meant to go along side the garage without replacing it, and to be used mainly when wanting to change a single equipment quickly or if the garage is lagging

 

It would be most effective if the player types the command while in a safe place, there is no need for a pause, if the command is written while spawning and the tank spawns before the command is written and or the change is made then change will be applied after the next spawn

 

with practice it should take 3-4 seconds to write a command, otherwise players can just go to the garage to be safe or for full equipment change

I like your proposal to keep it simple; but it would be really nice if players don't get shot.

 

Anyways.. that are nice-to-have's, while the ccore idea works with your proposal too (change next time got killed).

 

for the chat-while-pause I already wrote a line in the proposal:

I thought about that too, but if you make a typing mistake, you have to type the whole line again.. so I opted for separate commands

In order to switch equipment faster, we need to eliminate the opening of the garage entirely. In some cases, the fact that the garage takes so long to load, you are removed form the battle due to inactivity. This is a pretty big problem as all people probably experience this, no matter how much RAM they've got. MY last laptop had 4GB (I cri) and I have a new one with 12GB and a higher quality processor. I still run into this issue of the garage taking ages to load.

 

My suggestion is chat commands to change equipment.

 

How this will work, is you open the chat box, type in the / then e for equipment, then the item you want to change. If I wanted to switch my hull to hornet, I'd type in /e for command, h for hull and 2, since Hornet is the second one in the garage list. So, to change to Hornet, I'd type in /eh2 then enter. For turrets, change the h to a t and the number that represents the turret you wish to change to.

 

For modules, the command should be /e then the letter m for module, then the first letter of the name of the module you chose. Let's use k for kodiak for now. Then the number for which one you want. Kodiak T-A is the first of the Kodiak modules, so we'd use the number 1. So, if we wanted to change our module to Kodiak T-A, we'd use the command; /emk1.

 

For alterations, the command will be /e, then a for alteration, then the number to represent whichever alteration you want, in correspondence to the turret in use. /a2 for Stable Plasma if I were using Twins.

 

To change multiple items, use /e, then the letter to represent the item you want, the number, then use a comma to separate. So, if I wanted Railgun and Hornet with the Shark T-B module, with the High-Caliber Ammo alteration, my command would be:

 

/et11, h2, ms2, a3

 

Quick and easy. This wouldn't have to be in order as long as /e comes first.

 

However, if you use this command before you die, you cannot use it again until after you respawn. Once used, a text will appear green in the chat, saying; Equipment Change: Next Spawn

 

If you're on a cool down, it will say; Equipment Change: x:xx

 

The the three "x" will  represent how much longer until you can change again. Once the timer runs out, you'll see it say; Equipment Change: Next Spawn again.

 

Also, each item should have a number in the upper right corner, so remembering won't be much of an issue. Plus, as you buy items, the numbers will end up out of order, since owned items come first.

 

This idea is to keep players in battle longer, prevent them from being kicked, and just making everything related to this more convenient. The only real draw backs are remembering the numbers and being a slow typer. Then again you can just pause, THEN enter the command to keep you from spawning.

 

To make sure you're getting what you want when it comes to the hull and turret, as you change, your tank will change to the items of your choosing, but transparent and will change back to what your tank currently is until you respawn upon hitting enter. Only the player should see this. Without the garage menu in the way, you'd have full view of your surroundings.

You can now change your equipment via the garage using only keyboard shortcuts. The result is similar, while using chat commands wasn't a great idea in the first place.
