To be honest, Paladin is a really OP kit...and is the second cheapest M3 kit. From whatever point in the mid-ranks a player gets their M2s, is more than enough time to afford the most expensive kit. Take me for example. I'm about to dump 96k into getting a Rail M2, thus leaving me broke at the start of Captain, since I need to rank up to get the cry i need. From here, to Lt General, I'll make exactly 100,000 crystals in just rank up rewards. Paladin costs roughly 360,000 crystals, so, form now until Lt General, if a player can't make 260,000 crystals, I don't know what they're doing with their earnings.

 

Getting M3s is actually really easy. Well, affording them is easy, but GETTING to them is hard. But, once obtained, a player should have no problem getting things done. Heck, they have until Field Marshal, another roughly 400k exp to go, to get another M3 kit, before they're gone forever. Or, they can use those earnings to MU to M4.

 

Everything in this game (except paints) is easily affordable. It takes a lot of patience to get them, though. That's what most people struggle with in Tanki. From WO5 - Marshal is a LONG journey with M2s and when you hit Colonel, M3s will dominate the field and the mult M0s will mostly be gone. That journey alone can take several months to get through. It's why people buy, or why they quit if they can't.

 

The only reason I'm constantly going on about how Tanki is anything but pay-2-play, is because I've done plenty of research on the game, something many players don't do, so I try to be the nice guy to reach out to those people, so they know what to expect. I mean, I got Stinger kit with 20k crystals left to spend at WO5, I got the Hornet to 8/10 and now I'm about to get an M2 Railgun.

 

I haven't spent a penny on this game, either. Also, I'm not trying to brag, just trying to reach out and tell people that they CAN do this without having to pay, because there ARE those who cant.

It's fine and dandy to get a kit, but if you also get separate equipment, do it during a sale with at least 30% discounts or better

I'd much rather get a kit. Items separately might still be more expensive than the cost of the kit. Besides, you gotta love that inferno paint <3

Ah yeah, the inferno paint, I'll eventually get it. But what if you get the enough crystals for it, but it's cycle ended and jackhammer isn't up for sale yet? Then what are you going to buy?

1 and half year to get legend  for me, (I mean 1.6M experience point, since my time dont have legend rank)

and I play daily like 1-2 hours.

 

 

the fastest someone did it in 3 month I think, but that require you play 8 hour+ per day.

 

but the higher you reach, the difficult it gets, since fasting ranking and you dont have enough crystal saving to get M4 gun and hull to be competitive at that high rank, and drugger and buyer are even harder to deal with on high level.

 

while on low ranks, you still can win a lot againt noobs.

I don't really think an average person could get to legend without buying. I mean the o ly way for f2p to be able to upgrade is through product kits, but when you battle you get more experience than cry so you can never afford the kits in time, especially with isida.

From what i have experienced playing this game i don't honestly think it would be worth time trying to reach legend rank without paying

At these ranks playing is very intense and having lesser equipment at this level makes you a sitting duck for other players

But if your one to give it a try then all i can say is the very best of luck too you

I'm half-way through Gizmo and have not spent a dime.

3 M3+ turrets and 3 M3+ hulls, all slowly upgrading.  One combo at 11/20.

Takes time and I don't care about K/D...

 

It's all in how you play. 

 

Lots of tough enemies that are hard to kill? 

Play a team battle with isida - heal your team-mates and watch your score rise to top of battle-board.

Many things that are much greater than reaching Legend rank are possible without spending money in this game. Dedication are careful planning are the key. It's always nice to set goals and have a feeling of accomplishment in the end. However, you need to make sure you actually enjoy the gameplay...There is no point in suffering for at least 500 hours just to get a moment of satisfaction generated by reaching the highest rank,

Absolutely, this is also one of the reasons why I don't spend money here, I like to earn my equipment.

Though what can be described as dedication has now somewhat reached an absurd level with all these druggers and lack of PRO battles.

The achievements and detailed statistics were introduced almost 2 years ago so I will asume he created the account after that update. He gains 1650 experience /hour (on average) according to his profile. In order to reach Legend rank you need 1 600 000 experience so I estimate that he needed roughly 970 hours. 11 months mean aproximatively 330 days so that means he played, on average, almost 3 hours a day which is not really much compared to how much I power level  play these days to complete my super mission. Anyway, having considered the data on his profile I think he plays a bit less nowadays...

Yes from last 2 months I am not playing much, just doing missions.

I am sick of druggers in non-pro battles and M4s in PRO battles. I just play little bit XP/BP now.

I don't wanna leave the game but I am not enjoying while playing anymore. Especially after I have started Tanki X.

Tanki X has no such problems and buyers have no advantage in gameplay. There are no supplies and they can't over-upgrade their equipments by speding money.

It is possible to hit Legend without buying. It's possible to get M4s without buying, so the rest is simply playing out the string.

 

I am a Major General who in a few days will have M4 Thunder without paying a penny [got Bulldozer the last time it was offered around Colonel, before M3s all moved up to Marshal]. This puts me on a collision course with Legend; the only variable is time...

 

I suppose I need an M3 hull at some point, maybe... I'm still scoring a "top" on winning sides in Wasp M1 now and then, for crying out loud. Yet, my Mammoth M2 is outclassed.

 

Without buying, I recommend concentrating on a couple of combinations which can cover all the game types. Do daily missions and milk it. If you must play more than missions, play pro battles without supplies.

If only they could fix the camera angle - it just seems "off" - even when adjusted.  Too close to the tank.

 

And the tanks themselves are too big (likely due to the camera).  They also feel choppy and bouncy - nothing like a tank.

 

I like the overall level/upgrade implementation, but the "look-and-feel" not so much.

If you make 500 xp per week it's unlikely that you will reach Legend even with paying (roughly 62 years).

I currently do 10k xp per week. It will take me 3 years. After one 1.5 year i'm more than halfway.

I've not got the best garage but I do have viking (16/20) and rail (with alt), smoky, rico, freeze and fire (with alt) at 10/20. Never bought anything.

I don't know if it is true but someone once said in the forum they got there without drugs and without buying anything. Took hours a day and years I think they said. With m3 isida it is certainly possible.

Without drugs and without buying... a bit more than a year :D

 

But game changes make it always harder for newbies. So it was much easier for my predecessors, and it was easier for me than someone starting now. As a matter of fact I would definitely not recommend this game to a non buyer.
