Stinger Kit: Sliced Open

Greetings, tankers! Sliced here, formerly known as @Epic_Space_Mango18! I'm here to share with you my experiences with Stinger and it's many advantages in battle, as well as to give tips how to use it, when and where to use it! Now Stinger, I hear a lot of controversy about. I hear from many tankers who use it that like it, and those who didn't get what they were expecting. So, let's get started!

First, some basic information about Stinger:

Costs: 120,840

Contains:

- Isida M2

- Hornet M2

- Shark T-B M2

- Fracture paint

I mean, this is a steal at this price! With Isida alone costing over half the price of the kit, which if you bought everything separately, would easily cost you over 250,000 crystals! A tank of that price at WO4 has to be good! That's 130,000 crystals in savings!

Personally, I love this kit. I mean, when I got it Wednesday night, shortly after server restart, I played with it from 9:20pm to 1:30am! Before that, I was Hunter Isida M0, making maybe 5,000 exp per day, but in those few hours alone, I made roughly three times that! This morning I made 20,000 crystals in two hours only!

Now, what's so amazing about this kit? Well, it depends on your play style. Or maybe you're a versatile tanker and excel in heavy tank sniping, supporting with the good old Smoky Viking combo. Or maybe you like to pull off 360 shot swith Wasp/Hornet and Railgun. It really depends on how you play the game, so don't take it from me!

But enough stalling, let's get into the real deal.

Stinger is actually one of the best kits you can get, being M2, while less experienced players and non buyers who spend their earnings on that cool paint and stocking up on drugs, still have M0s and maybe M1s. It's fast, agile, heck, Smoky Viking can get lost. Those trick shotter Railguns can keep their shots to themselves and Vulcans camping up high somewhere, will be firing at you for ages.

Stinger will boost your exp and crystal earnings as if Premium were a joke, like heck! I got twice premium forever in this kit! That's if you know how to use it.

CTF mode:

I prefer this kit in no-supply battles. You've still only got as much HP as an M0 Hunter, so a drugging M0 is just as deadly. Stinger is best for following the most OP looking guy on your team, keep him alive to take the flag and bring it back. Which gets boring. Other than healing another teammate now and again it loses its momentum. Stinger's best place is offensive and defensive support. Keep the lights alive for stealing and the heavies for protecting.

In my opinion, this kit is best used on small maps, but mostly Noise. Blue team for healing your members from never ending Magnum shots and Red team for helping your buddied to cap a flag. Also, with all your teammates in a small area, getting to them to heal them is much easier. Get double damage and speed boost, you'll be all over. If you can get the M1 alteration for lengthened healing, you have to be really bad with this kit if your team members keep dropping like flies.

TDM mode:

Like in CTF mode or any battle, I prefer no-supply battles. So if you end up facing a buyer with every kit at his disposal, he can't spam the 1 key when you even do as much as poke him. In TDM, I prefer to keep Speed Boost active as much as I can in medium maps. That way I can make hit-and-run kills, heal a dying team mate if I see one. It's TDM, not much to do. Silence, Kunger, Novel and Osa are great maps. Medium but with enough props to keep the spaces small in most areas.

Stinger isn't great for getting mass kills in my opinion, but gets the job done.

CP mode:

Sit in the tunnel in Poly CP games, keep the Titan Twins/Firebird/Freeze/Thunder alive. Get another Isida buddy down there with you, you can heal each other against enemy splash damage since it's their best option at killing you. Now, that's if the battle is getting real, a tough challenge to keep control over the point. Other than that, you can make sneaky spawn kills and, of course, try and keep your team mates from dying. Now, if you end up in any other map than Polygon, then you can go on much bigger maps, make yourself invisible.

DM mode:

Well, I've had a few DM matches but only for missions so I don't have much to say other than the fact that this kit is NOT good in Death matches. Well, If you can get into really small maps, Speed Boost and Double Damage you'll get a few kills. You're probably the only M2 in battle and everybody is going to team up on you. Good luck.

To sum it up, Stinger is best at giving some major Defensive, Offensive support to needing team members. But, as you rank up, this kit, like all the others, will become just another tank in the field when most players have their own M2s.

Personal Tips & Tricks:

I play most of the time on Noise CTF games, so I'll give you my tactics on how to play on this map with this kit. First off, you want to be able to tell which player is doing what, in terms of defending, attacking, or supporting. When you spawn in battle, first thing you want to do is to heal ALL your team members who need it. Then, develop a plan on how to make your flag purple for the split millisecond it takes for the game to register you've capped red flag. And vice versa.

When on Blue team, you begin healing your teammates, clear out any attackers, figure out which of your team members is the attacker. Follow them, but from as far behind as you can but still within reach to avoid splash damage form Thunders and such. Once they have hold of the flag, do NOT let go of that space bar until you're out of enemy base. You will be under heavy fire and you should do your best to take as many shots as you can, to keep them from hitting the attacker. Keeping them alive is vital.

When on Red team, you can just have a field day healing non-stop. Let other Isida team members help the attacker. This is your opportunity to get mad exp, to soar up to the top of the leaderboard. Simple as that. I recommend getting on this team since they have the height and drop box advantage. If your team can gain control of the middle, you'v got it made.

My Rating:

Out of five stars, I give Stinger 4. It's great at getting high amounts of experience in battles to get first place, which means you take home most of the winning pot. Although, it lacks the ability to perform well in DM battles, where there's no team members to heal. Also, I do wish I could swap out the Vulcan protection for Thunder protection. Other than that, it's a great kit to quickly rank up with.

So, that's my review on this kit, I hope you all enjoyed it!

- A few grammar edits

- Changed font color from super-bright-grey to slightly-bright-grey

- Did a little extra formatting

- A few minor spelling corrections

Approved.

I wasn't sure what you meant when you said "Then, develop a plan on how to make your flag purple for the split millisecond it takes for the game to register you've capped red flag. And vice versa.", so I just left it how you originally stated it. Nice review!

Well when you mix blue and red you get purple. It takes a very short amount of time, that we cannot see where the flags are one over the other, giving a purple appearance.

meh, he copied my "Hello, I_Am_Unkown here", but whatever.....

Good review!! I have to say that this kit isn't the best kit to buy. I would recommend buying another M2 hornet kit such as tornado, and then buying Isida m2 separately.

This way you'll have a close ranged gun as well as a long ranged gun.

I bought voltage at WO5 on my alt.

It helps in daily missions, which is all I play for on that account.

When you hit major rank, you will need a medium / heavy hull for non-pro battles.

Nice review.

you also mentioned the tactic for Polygon CP battles; Isida-tandem in the tunnel healing the best point-holder and each other

Turret as a turret is good, but I don't recommend Hornet M2 on the long-term. Although it is great and all to have the M2s mostly before anyone else, I would say the kit is a waste of crystals - you know you won't make it all up until M3s with this kit and you will have to spend at least additional 100K+ crystals to keep up with enemies. Better pain when it's lighter than pain when it's harder.

That's my opinion on this kit.

That's my opinion on this kit.

I mult in battle to do missions. Like getting boxes or I'll steal a kill with M0 Rail with DD xD

I was M0 Hunter Isida up until WO5 and I was playing with lt Colonels. M2 Hornet 2/10 as it is, has more hp, speed and weight than my Hunter. The speed is the real advantage. And the Isida M2 makes healing a lot easier. I know you're referring to dying and killing, but making kills is on the low end of my priority list.

I'm going to slowly MU my Hornet to M3 so I avoid being totally obliterated when I have to cap flags for missions and such. My K/D, even after getting this kit, is still dropping I bet because I only really heal team mates. If I see an enemy, one maybe two or three of my guys are hiding from, I'll throw myself out there and do what I can to weaken him, then let the others do the rest, then come back and heal them. I get the shared exp for the kill, then the exp for healing. Isida isn't OP in getting kills, but it's the best turret for gaining exp with.

Once I can, I'm going to get Jack Hammer kit and get the M2 alteration for it. I'm a BEAST with Viking Hammer as you saw in our last Hill match. Stinger is just my nooby pawn till I can get it.

Trash the hornet idea bro and get a medium hull in September sale.

Dont waste crystals in MUing hornet.

Even Colonels can easily kill an m4 hornet (2000 hp).

Even m2 hunter has more health than that.

You will have a lot of problem doing missions as you rank up.

No hornet isida is getting 70 or 80 kills easily.

MU isida to m3, but not hornet.

And then the hammer gets rekt by m3 twins that's equipped with the stable plasma alteration.

If I was you I'd have suggested to wait for a rank and buy Tornado or Dictator Railgun M2 kit

^ I think he already tried that on his last account, and claimed that it did not work well.

Voltage was my first big mistake, my second was buying Northerner. As strong as a kit is is, it's underpowered because you'll already be facing M3s.

^ honestly, I think that buying any kit (except for the supplies kit) will be a costly mistake. The early advantage is just simply not worth it. Unless you buy it with real money that is.

With kits, the only advantage I see, is you get a full tank for less than the normal price :/

Kinda of like M3 kits. From Major you'll face lots of M3s...so by the time you get to Lt General, that's all you see, so you basically just get a tank on a huge discount.

Jack Hammer kit costs little over 412,000 crystals, but without the discount, its price is over 1,000,000 crystals .-.
