Do you think Tanki is pay-to-play?

oh.

120,840 for Stinger, then 140k ish for the MU on the Hornet and I'm about to get Rail M2 for 96k...that's at least 350k spent...then it's on to saving for Paladin, which I'll have at least 80% of the fund for the by Colonel. I'm also going to get both alts for the Smoky, so that's another 150k, so 510k is being dumped into getting that kit.

I'll get 110,000 of those in just rank-up rewards, so, I only need to save up 400,000 crystals from now, until Lt General. Plus, I'm going to rank up soon, thus my weekly rewards go up to 8,000 crystals, until the end of August, so that's this week, plus 5 more weeks. That's another 48,000 free crystals and I'm going to assume I'll only get a very low income of 50,000 crystals through missions themselves. So, that's 208,000 crystals out of the way.

This means I'll only need to make *drum roll* 302,000 crystals by Lt General from battles. I have at least 459,000 exp until I get there, to make those 302,000 crystals and I already make more crystals that exp, since I play with the highest ranked tankers possible.

I'm usually very, VERY accurate in predicting these kinds of things, and I predict after getting Paladin + both alts, I'll have at least 25,000 - 30,000 crystals left to spend.

Also, I'll still be making at least 2,500 crystals from weekly chain rewards after the 3x chain rewards end and I won't be Lt General for at least another 4-5 months, so let's say it'll take me 5 months to get there. That's 20 weeks and say for some reason Tanki doesn't increase my chain rewards as I rank up, leaving me gaining only 2,500 crystals each week, that's STILL a good 50,000 crystals to add to the free crystals I'll be making. I'll have at the very least; 600,000 crystals by Lt General :D

People really need to stop saying this game is pay-to-play because it's anything BUT pay-to-play.

Damn! I need to make than planning too. But then, until m3 for the f2p to thrive you have to use isida no? I use isida anyway.

You are right. It is Pay-to-Compete.

ME as a player of tanki online think that it is a pay to play game cause only buyers  will win...by drugs......i suggest to remove supplies from the GAME

No, just make battles without le drugz xD

after the latest updates, especially the ones concerning missions, you can play tanki and reach legend rank without paying, but mostly you will have to:

1) accept a K/D < 0.60

2) use the same turret and hull for 1000+ hours

3) accept losing 90% of your matches, as you will never have enough supplies or modules or microupgrades

anybody with some self-respect will look for another game rather than trying to get to legend rank

you could play only xp/bp, but for some it gets boring after a time.

Note to low rankers: Do not try to contradict my statement, by saying you're a free player and doing well, because it gets progressively worse as you rank up.

Note to high rankers: Your "success stories" don't matter, because much of your crystal income came before the mission update.

Why, I remember I was at Major rank around an year ago, and I used to log in get the following 3 missions:

Finish first 3 times (2k crystals)

Cap 3 flags (2k crystals)

Collect 7 DA boxes (2k crystals)

I make Island 1 flag CTF, and done in 3 minutes.

For only 30 xp in a day, I made 6k crystals.

Thats a cry/xp ratio of 200, excluding rewards from rankups and weekly chains.

Non-buyers could make like 2 million crystals till Marshal if they played slow.

Not to mention the amt. of supplies you could harvest.

I was a beast in DMs, because most of my missions were done in no supplies battles, except DM.

But the devs figured out that non-buyers should not be able to have a good time for long.

RIP tanki, because my money will not go in game development industry.

There are many f2p users with multiple M3s at the rank of Brigadier for example. They progress slowly, but they progress and I would say their gaming experience here in tanki online is a success as they seem to enjoy it and they are very likely to continue this way. Sadly, the majority doesn't seem to be that successful and keeps playing, despite the fact that they don't really enjoy the game, but they go on for whatever reason.

Everybody suffered because of the mission update, but it looks like many among us can't move on and adapt. Why did they do it? Because people could get 5-6k crystals in less than 1 minute. It felt good, but we were exploiting the game mechanics.

I'm really confused...I don't see how this game is pay to play. I'm a free player and have made 550,000 crystals at the least. I know this estimate from all the things I have bought, not with money, but with earned crystals.

- Stinger for 120840

- 8/10 upgrades on the Hornet for about 140,000

- 2/10 upgrades on the Isida for 15,000 ish

- M2 Railgun for a bit over 96,000

- M1 Shaft half off for 8,550 (I think)

- I currently have 172,000

Adds up to: 552,390

I mean...I got Stinger, paid enough in MU to have gotten another M2 kit, now I have 172k which is more than for what could have been a third. Or, just one and MU to M3. As a free player.

I'm not trying to brag, no, no. I'm wondering how this game is, in anyway, pay-to-play from my experience from how much I have earned.

Maybe if I didn't get all those MU I could have gotten another M2 kit like....Minotaur...that would have been awesome. M2 Viking/Rail/Twins/Isida are all good combos looool

Well, I'd rather buy a good M1 kit around and under rank of WO1 and play with it somehow until Captain rank, where I'd already have around 300K crystals. I'd buy the Northerner/Atlas kit and if I was to MU, I'd MU that.

I skipped right to M2 on this account. The MU was and wasnt a bad idea...M3 Hornet is pretty OP. I have 65 hp less than an actual M3, but still...

Now, had I just kept with the Stinger and MU I'd have about 300k as well. Oh well, I've made 100k during Captain and 72k during Major so far and halfway through Major.

I think its an accepted fact that this game is Free 2 Play (F2P) but the debate lies in wether the game is Pay 2 Win (P2W).

Im mostly in winning battles.

I NEVER join at the start. I'll wait around to see which team of my preferred choices may start to take the lead and if there is an open spot, I'll fill in and play heavy defense to ensure the victory. I also play with Marshals and higher, preferably Legends since the fund will be higher.

Pay 2 Play games don't even allow you to register without paying, or unlock some facilities which are exclusively accessible with money and a free player can never get access to it. So, Tanki is definitely not one of them.

Good luck when matchmaking comes back.

A lot of people don't realize this, but it's a pretty big secret: Tanki Online is a business. It LOOKS like a game, but much like Chuck E. Cheese it's there to generate revenue from people willing to spend money for a good time. The people who think it needs to adhere to their plebian demands are pretentious and scummy, to say it nicely.

Dude we gamers know about gaming businesses. WE ARE the business.

Many of you have yet to realize that any online game is clearly Pay2Play.

You either pay with real cash or your own time, and in fact, the latter is more profitable to TO.
