Railgun MUs won't give me any advantage in XP/BP so I am not gonna upgrade it.

Why do you think Avalanche isn't that good, I am playing with this combo from Master Sergeant rank and it's cool. See that 2.30 K/d which I got by playing with Avalanche.

 

My future plan is to MU freeze to M3 and save for M3 kits. I would be able to buy atleast two M3 kits if I save from now......

You should also get a midrange turret at m2. They are the real prize making weapons ;)

Also, my Hornet is 8/10 M2, which I think you know already and with Isida's rather high damage, I'm just fine in my position. Gonna get M2 Rail for xp/bp then I'm going to save for either Paladin or Jack Hammer and get M3 Rail after then finish the last MU on my Hornet and BAM 4 M3s by Marshal at the latest.

 

I don't need luck in Tanki. Just patience, which I have plenty of.

 

Being a middle ranker with an M3 hull as a free-player should already prove I know what I'm doing

You just have to save crystals & supplies and spend them wisely.

 

See I am just Warrant officer 5 and have bought two M2 kits, Avalanche & Voltage, I get enough supplies from missions and my K/d is 2.30 without spending real money.

yes f2p players can do average in this game, if they just log off after missions, but thats not really playing the game you know, running around collecting boxes, and playing modes you don't like.

 

Rank up, do well, and make me take back my words - i would love that: f2p players doing well in this game after the horrid mission updates and matchmaking in place.

Actually this week I had 5 days of premium in my alternate account, that's why I played much less in this account.

 

Previous week I had to destroy 2000 tanks on weekend in that account so didn't play in this account.

 

Normally I earn 20-25K XP in a week. You will see next week  ;)

there you are, non-buyers need to run separate accounts and split up exp between those if they want to play for longer, to avoid ranking up too fast.

 

WO5 is too early to be saying this game is fair to non-buyers, because the players you battle are still noobs.

You can have separate account because you want to play different turret, not because you want to play longer. He is playing pro battle as well, do you want him to play normal battle all the time and on one account to please you?

Being noob has nothing to do with F2P or P2P, what kind of statement is that. The buyer can buy OP kit early in the game too and for the same amount of crys they can have many more equipment (versus higher ranks), so they have a fully filled garage, while at legends everything is expensive, so you will need to buy more crystals. So no Wo5 is not too early for saying the game is not fair to non-buyer. sorry you got it wrong

 

as of now, non-buyers with a little bit of common sense search for battles where they are the highest rank.

so they battle against enemies of either same rank or lower rank

 

matchmaking takes away low ranked enemies away from you, as well as choice of map.

 

so you may get sent to a map where your only turret and only hull may not do that well, even with MUs.

 

this makes non-pro battles even more pay2win.

There is a lot to sift through in this thread.

 

I've been a buyer for over a year now.

 

So - is the game free to play? The answer is of course yes, but perhaps that is too easy an answer.

 

As a lot of you have said, gameplay changes at M3. MU became king, Light hulls disappeared, and it didn't really matter which turret I was using. Plus EVERYONE else in battle had M4 smashing up my M3 gear.

 

Many MANY players quit at this point, which is why there are so many inactive Marshals and Fieldmarshal accounts floating out in Tankispace.

 

I didn't want to quit, so I became a buyer. I'm guessing many others made the same decision. It was the only way to quickly close the gap between 4 M3 pieces of my equipment and the 6-8 M4s I needs to be competitive even before Generalissimo.

 

I'm tempted to go ahead and say TO is pay to play at M3 ranks, at and above Marshal. Technically speaking, buying is not required, so it is still free. But free player quality of life at that level is depressing.

 

I will also say that the game is NOT pay to win. That is absolutely not true, but the term 'pay to win' also needs a bit of unpacking. Consider the following questions-

 

1-Does paying ensure or materially improve my chance of winning a battle? Do not think that buying with real money will get you to first place in battle. It will not. It will only give you more options and make your equipment as strong as everyone else's. Our own skill and judgement is the only think hat can eek out a win.

 

2-Can I reliably win or at least score well in battles as a free player? This is a subtle yet important difference from question 1. Consider this the 'need' side of the question as opposed to the 'want' of question 1. The answer is of course yes - but it gets a LOT HARDER at M3, which is why I do think there is some legitimacy to claims that buying is the only way to enjoy gameplay at high ranks.

 

I welcome opinions for or against any of this.

What I was getting at, is when you can get M3 Rail (For free with full MU) you'll have the best setup for xp/bp, plus, M3 Rail in mid ranks is OP in free format battles...they still one-shot me with DD and I have 25% Rail protection .-.

I would play more but for two reasons I don't play much...three actually.

 

-For the past few days I been at my aunts, visiting, so sitting on my game all day isn't going to cut it

-I'm bored of it and at least want to keep my mission chain

-I has bad fps lagz

 

Once I get over this boredom I will play more cuz Isida is fun to play with. Also, I been to Brigadier before. You can play as much as you like as an F2P player. Just gotta know how. I know how :3

 

Played a ton when I was M0 against Colonels...think it was fun? No, it wasn't, but the high cry rewards at the end were worth it. Also, With all my accounts added up, I'm worth at least Legend 2. 2013 I began playing Tanki, so crystals come easy to me. And, with the patience thing, I've learned to not care about the mission update you can't handle. Besides, the more time it takes, means the more battles I do, means the more cry I earn.

 

This game comes down not to skill, but patience. I was worth nothing more than a mult when I was M0, but because of the fact I could heal players to get exp, I had nearly 150k crystals by WO5. Playing with no turret-turning noobs rewards me with very little, even on the winning team. To keep my crystals 2/3s the worth of my gained exp at the least, I gotta play with higher ranked players, because, even in losing games, I get just about that much, so I don't really lose much.

 

The higher ranked the player, the more is added to the fund upon their death. Makes me mad I can't play legends from Recruit.

 

 

At the very least, I've made 350,000 crystals on this account for 306,000 exp, which means I've made more crystals than exp. although, this was the same for my last account. It's only a matter of time before the exp catches up and passes that. Although, I plan to delay that as long as possible.

 

 

Don't trust the player ratings for this account - I had this account before the ratings were changed and stuff, so it only shows I've only made 124k

 

 

But either way, I'm not gonna let you be the judge of how efficient I am at making crystals. Getting to Brigadier will come my way, not under your expectations.

Quite uh...the assumption ya got there. I have many accounts, and only this one I use, but I do use my last one sometimes for xp/bp since I don't have M2 Rail on this account.

I made around 140k by WO5 on this account then bought Stinger half way to 3rd lt for 120,840. I have almost 50,000 crystals already and I just began 3rd lt. I plan to slowly MU my kit to M3 by the time I hit Brigadier then get M3 Rail at Marshal for xp/bp.

I had beginner's pass up until 3rd Lt and there was the may day celebrations which for two days each, there was 1.25x fund, 1.5x, 1.75x and 2.00x fund, plus I got premium for 3 hours twice from missions during that time
