Certain turrets giving more experience

Different turrets require different roles in battle, but you get 10 exp per kill no matter what turret.

Short ranged turrets are best with light hulls and getting up close and personal with your enemy, wasting him on spot with M4 Firebird with both alts. R.I.P Tanki because Y.O.L.O.

Mid range weapons like Thunder and Smoky are more for giving attack or defensive support to your team. You kill steal or heavily damage the enemy before the short ranged users with the weaker hulls get to the enemy.

Long ranged guns are for camping with as many drugs as you can use, and obliterating any enemy on sight. Get DD with Shaft on Highways, with the M2 Alt you can one shot anything.

Firebird is good for flaming up the enemy, leaving him a charred heap of nuts and bolts. Freeze is good for protecting the flag at base, keeping the enemy from making off with it. Isida is good for keeping your team mates alive. Although, Isida is special. You get more for healing team mates than killing enemies and team mates won't try to kill you when they see you, so it's free exp. Hammer is great for dealing high, instant damage rather than gradual damage. (Say you have one HP and you have Twins. The next enemy you see you only get one shot out before you're killed. You just tickled him. But with Hammer, you take a heaping chunk of health)

Rico is good on maps like Duesseldorf (I think that's how you spell it) and if you're the enemy, you'll be getting hit with shots you won't even know where they're coming from. Smoky is great for sitting close by behind some corner, making peek a boo shots so the enemy will never find you. Thunder is great for doing heavy damage to multiple players. When they all die you get shared exp for all those tanks you damaged. Striker is good for taking down mediums and leaving heavies nearly dead.

Shaft is good for picking off enemies, although you have to pick a good spot to get the most out of it. Railgun with Hornet you can get close but creep around corners and such. When the enemy gets hit he has only a 50% chance of picking the right direction the shot came from. Magnum is best on Red team on Noise for spawn killing Blue until battle end. Heavy exp like this if done right.

Out of all these turrets, Isida, Thunder and Railgun are most rewarding. Isida since you make more from healing team mates, Thunder for its splash in damaging multiple targets and Railgun for trick shot kill steals. A skilled xp/bp user can be the deadliest tanker in battle.

Firebird Steak.

Eh fire is OP cuz of the new buff to it and maybe you played small maps with both. While with thunder you killed yourself but with firebird you killed others?

You shouldn't forget, that IF you play parkour battles, those count too. And parkour battles are often CTF or DM. Almost never CP.
And time spent there count in your ratings, while you don't earn any experience. Also, you are more likely to use recoil and splash turrets like thunder, rail, hammer... rather than fire or freeze (thought that doesn't mean, players never take them ;) just less often), so also time/exp ratio on these recoil guns is lower.
And one final thing... firebird somehow always have high exp/time ratio, since you often get at least one kill before you die, and since noone uses it with titan/mammoth you also die fast.
You can see similar pattern on my ratings. Thunder low ratio, firebird high...
PS: Yes, TDM is actually better for parkour, but open parkour battles always tend to be created in CTF mode.

I had a similar question that generated an acceptable rationale.  I had a screen shot of a short battle where I killed like five tanks and the only other player on my side killed 2 but got more xp, a higher score, and more crystals....we were both in the battle from the beginning and were both thte same rank...it was weird.

I was using Vulcan and inadvertently stealing the kills.  A Rico guy and I were spawn killing the opposition...both firing on the same poor abused opponents at the same time mostly.  I got credited with the kills but Rico got some of the xp.

This may be what is happening to you (and all of us) when you use Firebird.  Maybe you fry, but not kill, some proximity opponents and get xp without kills.  You may also kill faster and more cleanly with Firebird rather than Thunder.  The guy you kill with Thunder may have taken a hit or two before you give him the coup de gras giving some of the xp to previous hitters, where as Firebird slaughters quickly...even with a newly spawned player.

But, hey, it's just a theory...A Game Theory.  :)

Depends on the battle you're playing, too. If you play Isida on TDM, especially on a map where you can hang out in your base and never get shot, you can rack up an amazing score, you'll be first place by a mile. Shaft can do incredibly well on certain battles obviously, and horribly on others. It's the tank, the map, and the battle type, and also the team, if you're playing Shaft you need a team that doesn't let your base get invaded.

Certain combos give more xp/hour then others.

I use to play multimode polygon CP (no drugs, mu's on, alterations on) with

1) Titan/Twins

2) Titan/Striker

3) Wasp/Rail(M3.5 with M2 heavy caliber alteration)

and the xp/hour earnings are in the same sequence as given in the list above. Twin/Titan earns me most, Striker on the same hull earns me less and Wasp/Rail earns me the least xp in this gamemode and map.

The Rail gives the enemies serious troubles.. I can kill each viking with 2 shots, and often save my buddies lifes when they go for the CP point. A good portion of the shots is lined up to hit's two targets at once (therefore I need the Wasp) and I rarely end up last in the list. Enemies even start to equip rail protection after a while and start to hunt for me :p :p

But still the Twins/Titan gives more xp per hour and better rankings in battles.

The higher DPM output pays off on this map in this mode.

Unfortunately.. as Rail/Wasp is a loooot of fun in that mode.
