Protection module inverts Isidas effect

 Share

Recommended Posts

damage effect of isida is reversed causing enemy isida to suffer 10% damage and victim to be healed 10%

but friendly isida would cause 100% damage instead of healing.

yes i too don't like isida now. It absolutely ruins gameplay in battles.

They will never make alterations of modules btw

I have no idea what that post even said

its crazy idea

you shoot at enemy, and find that your own health is decreasing while enemy gains health.

your own team isida can kill you (like friendly fire)

If an Isida attacks a tank, that has this module, then

- the Isida will suffer 10% self damage

- the enemy will be healed with 10% (of the former damage I suppose??)

-> this makes the module very strong

If a friendly Isida tries to heal the tank with that module, then

- the Isida will cause 100% damage

-> this is intended to balance out the protection

I give not much comments on it's usefullness.. but it is a new kind of mechanic so I think it is worth to read it, think baout it.. and maybe it inspires someone to something else.

I hate to be a big "A" but this idea makes no sense.

And by the way, a mod should merge it into "ideas for alterations"

These are tanks.  Enemy of the isida should suffer damage.  If Isida loses a small percentage, that shouldn't occur until the charge runs out.  No healing of enemy should occur.  No damage to friendly fire, since isida is trying to heal or just checking to make sure friends are healed.

I won't merge it, as there are no alterations for modules yet (and as far as I know they are not planned as well)

Indyone - its a protection module... think of it as reversing the polarity of isidas nanobots or similar.

I understand, but I don't think this is necessary for balance.  There are other ways to balance.

So it was never ment to be an alteration as the original title said?

Title changed

old title "Alteration for Isida protection module"

new title "Protection module inverts Isidas effect"

Dear topic owner, if you do not like the new title, write me a pm (with a good and solid proposal)

Wait what???  :o

Not. A. Chance.

A Protection module should offer protection. Period.

Wolverine - read the post, that's what it does - protects from isidas attack by reversing it.

BTW you wouldn't happen to have a vested interest in this would you?  Maybe you run an Isida eh?...... lol

Black wasp -  semantics and definitions lol.

It was proposed as an "alteration" or modification to the existing Isida protection module not as a stand alone turret or tank "Alteration" .

As for the title call it whatever you want - it was just an idea that extended the concept of jamming or reprogramming the flow of nanobots.

This could even be done by chance as per the smoky critical hit and have the chance of success based upon the relative strengths / weaknesses of the tanks involved.

I don't suppose that it will get adopted but maybe some of the concept could be considered in the future for friendly fire or mis-fires  etc to add realism

Sure I do.

Reducing the damage through protection is powerful enough. At 50% it takes enemy 2x as long to kill you.

And then adding 10% heal for you and 10% damage to them?

And 100% damage to team-mate so equipped? even without friendly fire?

OP.  Waaaay OP.

Alterations are about give-and-take.  You must give up something to get something.

In this suggestion of yours - do you give up the reduction in damage?

Would you submit protection Modules that do damage to EACH turret?  Rail shoots from across the map - and damages itself?

Or are you singling out Isida because you find them annoying?

Wolverine - no not annoying as I can usually one shot them before they become a problem.

With the give and take part ,I think you misunderstood that if you have this to protest your tank from enemy isidas you will take damage from your teams isidas. The give is that you lose the option to be healed by your buddies.

I don't see this as sustainable. The effective of this module is to make you immune to enemy isidas.

That would make isida the only turret in the game which can be rendered completely innefective (worse: self damaging)

It's like having a module with not only 100% protection against isida but 110% in a way. How is that ok, when other turrets can fire just fine?

Shadowfire - pick a number....

The values are for examples only. Obviously the devs would look at the balance of the game and assign damage values etc.

It was a way of demonstrating that protection modules or alterations could have negatives built in to prevent super domination by whoever buys the most bolt-ons.

eg

an alteration for higher velocity ammo with more damage could have a random percentage chance of a dud round / misfire as the negative effect.

a protection module for fire protection could increase damage from freezing etc.

This is just an exploration of a concept

So, is what this idea means, is that instead of helping you against isidas, it causes them to damage you when they try to help you? The point of a module is that it helps you right? Not damages you?

Maryam it helps you against enemy isidas but the cost is that it stops you being helped by your teams isidas (possibly even damaged by them)

Most module have no cost for changing the damage done by enemies
