Duelist Pages Reworked

 Share

Recommended Posts

We should have a reworked duelist section with rules. Its got to me that Duelists have the freedom to do whatever they want and have the right to because the rules are not reinforced. Its got to the fact where I'm not interested in dueling anymore and the duelist section is starting to fall apart.

I think joost has been so pre-occupied reworking eSports as a whole that Duelists got slightly neglected. Worry not, he'll have something in mind. :)

Yeah and hes done a good job at it too.

But there are many sides of Esports that can be worked on and this is one I'm putting out there. Duelists page are really only a place to create a topic and ask for 1v1s nothing else is controlled, it has the potential for better

I don't know on what basis do you say that duelist section is neglected, we've rolled out pretty major changes for quite some time. We even introduced the most recent "Duelist maps" table. Moreover, the section rules were changed almost completely and we added a proper, strict, criteria for lodging duel wins/losses. As for "lack of reinforcement of rules" - just try to report a troublesome post, or even PM eSports mods for filing a complaint against a duelist, in any duel thread and see for yourself. We don't neglect a single report. The thing is that not everything one would report gets removed, we only take action when necessary & most appropriate.

It's all about prioritization. Right now our main priority is DS-II - since we received a good amount of constructive feedback in DS-I, we've pretty much been working on improving the next Domination Series on the basis of players' feedback. That's what we worked hard on for since early 2017 to the day we released the tournament. That's not the only thing we worked on for, smirk smirk.

Check the Clans section if you haven't already. The leagues are out - all that's left is to fil them up with the right teams; hopefully after DS-II(otherwise we'd be arbitrarily putting clans in leagues, wouldn't we? ;)).

Hmm well I appreciate your work. I still think it needs reworking in some way. Some of the duelists have broken rules and aren't notified of them. I didn't know things changed, but if they did Nice.

I understand, and it looks like its working successfully and the feedback has been taken into hand so good job. I was just pointing out that the duelist section hasn't reached its full potential. There was also a drop in the number of duelists overtime.

I thought the DS1 results were also taken into account? Has that changed? The DS2 results will be taken into account if im not wrong.

Yeah, exciting. Its the next level for the EN community.

Forget About Duelist Section maintenance & Rules( It is already maintain) you need to maintain Rules Of your clan members positive who are totally negative, try to make them Positive Please ( after it maintain duelist pages ^_^  . We are not your servants to obey your duelist rules.

The TO eSports Team has a lot on their hands what with the DSll going on. I think it's best to wait for DSll to finish then revisit the matter of Duelists. Believe me, I know how frustrating someone can be with updating their dueling logs. But from a first-hand perspective, there is only a handful of people who really cause trouble. Even after DSll the eSports team has more work to do with dealing with violations reported during DSll and clan league system. I think @DarkOperative is right we he says it is all about prioritization. Let's give joost and his helpers some time before giving complaints about other features. Put yourself in their position: You're working day and night on a project that can consume all of your time. On top of that, you have lots of people asking questions, and demand answers. Then, the minute you decide to just have some free time and browse the forum, you have people complaining about a completely different subject.

Just give them time, they are diligently working to improve this game for us. I think we should all thank them for what they are doing. Thanks joost and the eSports team.

Guys. It's true we have the tournament going on but we're a team, and that means obviously we can take care of multiple things at a time. In fact once a tournament is published and live, most of the job is done and we're already doing other stuff. Probably the toes of my hands aren't enough to count the things we are simultaneously preparing, and this includes a number of different projects, about which maybe joost will say something in a new esports blog.

Rework of the tandem & duelists section is planned in the long term but not easy to achieve. In the first place we're putting more efforts in high priority things and things that are planned to come in the near future. In the second place we are not even completely sure of how to act in the section. Duelists topics are not clan topics, there is a higher risk of inactivity and they just behave differently: that's why we can't just force each of you to open your duelist topic and keep it updated. Simply the nature and purpose of the topic is different and we didn't come up with a solution yet.

However you can be sure of one thing: we are closely monitoring the esports community and believe me that if something doesn't work, we'll soon be on that.

I completely agree. I just feel the duelist page isnt working effectively and to be honest for some its just a boasting topic. Im not sure what you want duelist pages to be like clan wars or just a place to play vs randoms and post a win. The only option is to play against randoms due to the lack of duelists. Imagine clans adding war wins against randoms.

I understand what you are getting at but, they're aren't enough active duelists to keep duels confined to other duelists with pages.

Yeah true, that's what I said. Duelist pages have the potential to become a larger part of esports. TOSL is supporting duel and tandem tournaments too.

Yes, but TOC and TOSL support randomized dueling. The aspect I'm talking about is people who have a Duelist Page in the Free Sport section of the Forum.

TOC and TOSL also support 'randomized' clan battles in that case. I understand, but there are very few of them.
