Tell us your cool ideas for new «Overdrives»

A wacky idea I had was is the Magnapull.  Its effect is to magnetise your tank so that you end up pulling an opponent towards you (or pushing it away from you, depending on polarity).  This would be especially effective in CTF battles where a large tank is sitting on a flag and you need to dislodge it.  Its effect wouldn't be too great unless used by several tanks simultaneously, such as Overdrive where having several team mates in close proximity would increase its effect.

1. there should be a overdrive in which we can replace supplies with modules like i tanki x and there will be a specific cooldown time and we can buy them. 5000 crystals=1 module forever. and it will be shown like we buy alterations like that only but the modules will be available when we buy m1 of any hull like eg: mammoth m1 will unlock 1 slot of module and we can choose between any of the modules we like but 1 module per slot.

2. there should be a overdrive in which we can be invisible and we can move around without anyone noticing. it will be useful for entering the enemy base and taking the flag.it is very useful in ctf and dm mode.

As if there are not already enough 'supplies' in the game having taken over and widely destroyed what makes a game. As I frequently commented, tanks have become useless. A square, four corners and throwing drugs on each other that suffices since quite a while.

 

Pro battles have the feature to remove supplies, does it not?

i think over drive that drop gold box will be cool and everyone will like it and game will be more fun to play iamgine everyone who have 100% in overdrive they use it and alot of gold boxes dropped

Maybe this should have been part of a contest,  so people have time to formulate and think more in details about the idea they have and could improve. Some of the idea below could have been mentioned before in this thread, or maybee seen even in the I&S, so they might not be mine, but that the ones I liked.

 

A couple of ideas when overdrive is activated:

 

1 - Jump-Drive: make your tank jump forward, has high as required to get above the obstacle in front of you or above a pit. Lots of new game plays potential, can't wait to see a Gold Box melee with that.

 

2 - Stun-Drive: stun enemies tank around you, make them stop moving or reduce speed (drive and turret) by, let's say, 50% (or make a wasp as fast as a mammoth for example). Could be around you  (wider then the current overdrive zone) or in a large space in front of the turret.

 

3 - Stealth-Drive: You become a phantom and you can drive trough other tanks (friends and enemy alike) and you get like a Double Armour, you can shoot at but not stopped.

 

4 - Random-Drive: instant teleportation across the map can save you from a sticky situation or make it worth, :)  who knows, would be actually fun for DM or TDM. To make it easier to implement, at the start, let's say you teleport to any existing re-spawn point on the map (from the red team or the blue team or the one used for DM). If liked, you can create new random drive re-spawn point for better tactical interest.

 

5 - Steal-Drive the supplies that your opponents have in the battle. Either take a random tank or the one in front of you or the one that have the most supplies on.

 

6 - Supplies-Drive: triggers new drops on the drops zone that are empty at the time of activation.

 

7- Gravity-Drive / Moon-Drive: change the local gravity of all tanks around you (foe and allies) like the space mode.

1. When a repair supply repairs you, it´s instant and you can´t be one shot with a shaft or anything while the repair is still on you.

 

2. If you have a gold box it will drop a gold but it will not take it away from your golds just like overdrive does with regular supplies.

I got an idea of potions or something like upgrades which give us a chance of activating invisibility ,ghostmode , and even immortility for 30 secs of we collect a certain thing such as gold boxes.

 

i also think that just like the over drive  there should be something just like 0 supply but it will give poison and slowness to our opponent just like firebird's heat. instead of the star this will have a star shaped potion symbol like this    2652fd4e8a5abe18b499ac611141d2ad.jpg

I think the overdrive its ok but should not affect the team members because they can prevail over the enemies.I have seen when i used overdrive then immediately go to 50% then it fills really fast and the enemies dont have time to even respawn.It would be great if this game mode be implemented but not to affect the others close to you.

Redesign the DD/DA/SU supplies into something that improves game play instead of turning a tank game into Mario Go-Carts. Then you can Overdrive w/o making the "game" even more farcical. 

 

But everyone knows that won't happen so ... maintain course on the current death spiral.

My idea is to make a new hull that is heavy but fast,kinda like viking,and this idea is a bit crazy,but when over drive is activated every hull including the new one would spawn a drown of witch u can fly around with a missile launcher until you would get destroyed. Just 1 more thing to say, thanks for making tanki online,it is the best online game in my perspective. Thanks again!!!

look, I'm playing this game very long time, and I think, that overdrive is very cool thing, but, I think that it sould be normal in non-pro battles, but when a player is creating any map, in any mode, I think that he sould have an option to turn ON Overdrive or turn OFF overdrives, that's what I think would be supercool! :) ;)

Yeah and all yu have to do to find one is visit 22 different servers one at a time, then click on each Pro battle on the 22 servers, then read the little icons until you find a non-drug game. Doesn't take more than a half-hour of tediukm Clearly this is a viable solution..

What about an Overdrive that "super-charges" and refreshes the duration of the current supplies already affecting your tank? Like if you had a Double Protection supply active, this overdrive would increase the protection you get from it by even more, and also refresh the duration of it. I think this would be a pretty cool and powerful Overdrive idea. I would love to see it in the game.

i have 3 ideas

1. the overdrive could be a supply box.

2.you remember the test boxes? the next zero supply could make an action from the test boxes. :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

3.when you activate it your hull transforms into something like a plane(wings and stuff)and you are foing to be fast and able to fly :huh:  :huh:  :huh:

Overdrive is cool, but I don't think it should be in the game permanently. If it's gonna be, it must be harder to fill the bar and activate it.

It should be for temporary events. It's fun and it teach cooperation and team work in the game.
